I’ve stayed here before and it’s always been comfortable, great location and good facilities. There are new owners but fortunately they haven’t changed the comfortable beds!

The last owners were very hands on and welcoming, we didn’t interact with anyone for the majority of our stay (but did receive help from the night manager) so it was more hands off. Self check in was easy but it was a very different vibe to last time, also not a fan of the new modern furniture pieces in the room but I can see why they’ve been added. Would still stay again!

We loved the hands-on service and location of this lovely B&B! We would go back and stay in a second. For our first time in Auckland and in NZ, this was the perfect place to ease into our trip. Carrie gave lovely recommendations and advice about getting around the city and it was only a ten minute walk to Eden Park Stadium. It’s also a short walk to Mt. Eden and the Mount Eden neighborhood as well as the Countdown supermarket and other cafes and coffee shops in Eden Valley. We loved being able to walk everywhere or take the extremely clean and reliable Auckland bus system.

Nothing—it was a lovely stay and I would recommend it highly for the perfect location and excellent service.

The hotel is in a pleasant, quiet part of the city in a very convenient location both for local amenities and for reaching the city centre. The rooms are well furnished and comfortable; some have character features and some look out onto the small but attractive garden. It was also useful to have the use of the small kitchen to prepare our own simple meals when we didn't want to eat out. What will stand out most for us in our memory of staying at the Bavaria Boutique Hotel is the exceptionally warm and friendly welcome we received from the staff. They made us feel very much at home after our long journey from the UK and were very attentive to all our needs throughout our stay.

The breakfast was adequate but it would make a huge difference to guests' experience (at relatively little cost to the owners) if it could include fresh bread/rolls and fresh fruit.

I liked the hotell and room design. The staff Kerri ,Erica and Lynn were lovely people. Well suited to their role and helped me sort out 2 medical issues. Kerri walked to local pharmacy and bought me antihista9mine tablets and calamine after liaising with the pharmacist. .

The shower was basic and temperature fluctuated when other guests used cold water. So had to be careful. Shower design needs built in non slip base with thermostat control to prevent temperature fluctuations.

Our second stay (just one night) was more or less comfortable. The homeliness of the property is striking. Kerrie the night manager doubles up as a lovely host. If you ask her nicely she will pull a nice espresso shot for you that can brighten up your morning in an instant. Two thumbs up for the tireless enthusiasm with which she works. I extend my thanks to the invisible   Erica who sent me  timely updates and instructions. I can imagine her paddling away frantically sending calmingly helpful messages. Our rooms were smaller this time because we managed to book only the Deluxe Kings.

A few critical inputs : there needs to be a little more clarity around breakfast option and the mattresses could do with a little freshening up (10 drops of tea tree oil to a litre of water in a spray bottle should do the trick followed by home steam cleaning). And yes the camera in the living room is intrusive. Anywhere else on the property it should be fine.

Great location when attending shows at the Powerstation as its maybe only a 15-20min walk. Has enough parking for each room to have a vehicle which is great.

We were unable to watch the TV as it kept going all static like as though there was a poor connection, tried other channels but it didn't quite come right. That's not a major but after our concert our ears were ringing in the quiteness so needed some light background noise as opposed to actually watching what was on. Again only a minor complaint we couldn't seem to get any hand soap out of the bathroom dispenser it was either empty or a bit faulty. These are tiny things. This is a great place to stay.

Thank you to the ladies for making my daughters stay so good. My daughter had a baby 6 months ago and in January her house was flooded in the Auckland floods. The whole house has to be restored. My daughter hit the wall after 2 and a bit months of dealing with insurance, choosing new kitchen, bathroom, flooring, cleaning out her house, disposing of water logged and damaged possessions, packing up and cleaning her possessions ready for the movers as well as sleepless nights with the baby. Erica and staff looked after my daughter during her stay with such kindness, caring and thoughtfulness. As a mum I cannot thank them enough. My daughter came home from her stay and said “I can cope now”. Thank you

Communication with the owner prior to the stay was excellent. Unfortunately we were unable to meet them as our arrival time was later than we anticipated, and we had an early departure the next day. We really enjoyed a walk around the neighbourhood in the afternoon - there are some wonderful homes and gardens and rock walls to envy. Our room was very clean and comfy, the common area was just like home, meeting other guests was good, and the continental breakfast was just what we needed to start a busy day.

Nothing worth noting.

We enjoyed our stay as two couples. The shared lounge and kitchen area is very spacious, open to greenspace and airy. It was a nice opportunity to meet other guests. It was nice to be able to have a cup of tea/coffee in that space too. The parking was great and easy access to a very big supermarket, main commercial precinct and the wonderful Maungawhai, Mt Eden. Our hosts were very friendly and interested in our activities.

A different shape cereal bowl, non sweetened yoghurt and some extra fruit perhaps. The breakfast option is however very good value for money and we enjoyed a toasted crumpet.

We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The host was friendly and helpful with great suggestions for tourist activities and dining. Went above and beyond in giving details, directions, and assistance with using the transit system. The bedroom was large, the bathroom compact, and the common space and dining area were spacious. The little things like fresh flowers and books in the bookcase were noticed and enjoyed. It was a delightful stay!
