Buffet breakfast was awesome - delicious food, something to everyone, real coffee, staff are lovely. Parking was excellent - easy to get in and out, 24/7, plenty of parks available. Location was perfect. We could see the Sky Tower from our room! Next to Sky Tower, central to everything in town, close to Civic and so many places to eat etc, and only a 15/20-min walk to Downtown ferry etc. Check in staff and breakfast staff are super friendly.
It’s a little dated, and could do with a renovation. Facilities in our room were mostly fine, but a few small things were broken - like there is a glass ledge under the TV, which isn’t actually fixed in. And the hand wash in the bathroom is supposed to be secure but the latch is broken. The lightbulb in the lamp was loose so it kept flicking on and off. Just things like that which were hazards but only because I have two young children with us. Housekeeping was a hit and miss. Cleaned everyday, but not vacuumed, and even though beds were made the sheets were either not tucked in properly or the bed was too big for them. Either way - every time you slid into bed the sheets were always bunched up inside and they easily came loose from under the mattress. I would recommend fitted sheets.

The receptionist lady was one of the kindest and most understanding I have ever met! I landed in Auckland very early in the morning, arrived to the hotel around 7am, I did not expect to be able to check in, so all I asked if I can please drop my luggage and I can go for a walk until I am able to check in. The lady told me I must be very tired and she will check if the room is ready and if so, I am more than welcome to check in now. What a gesture! The room indeed was ready and I could check in straight away. I can't be thankful enough for this lovely lady, I wish I would remember her name! I can only give a rating of 10 for this kind of treatment.

Location was great for getting to the attractions around Auckland. 5 min walk to the art gallery and Queens Street; 10/15min walk down to the harbour. The room was comfortable (bed was a tad too soft for my liking but not enough to complain), staff efficient and pleasant. The standard of cleanliness was really good. Really nice coffee machine and tea making facilities. Decent sized tv. Room had desk area and arm chair and foot rest. There is a shopping arcade below the hotel which was really handy. A coffee stand and Japanese eatery we enjoyed going to greatly.
At the moment there are some significant road works right outside (installing a new metro system which has been in the works for two years so far) which look unsightly, however you can access the hotel by taxi and foot still. Please not: There was no noise pollution or vibration from these works that we could hear/feel.

An excellent hotel in a great location. Despite the on-going roadworks in the area, there was easy and convenient access to both the Queen Street side and Sky Tower sides of the city. The hotel is lovely. The rooms were well-appointed, very nice and quiet and cool with super comfortable beds and pillows. The staff were all excellent - check in and out was very easy. Our room was ready early which was fantastic and much appreciated. We enjoyed the happy hour and the generous pours of wine, sitting beside the fish pond in the atrium area. We would definitely stay here again.
Nothing!

Lovely staff - accommodating. However their booking system cod do with a revision as they had me down for 1 nigjt not 2, after finally they realised their erfor then wanted me tp pack up and move for the night, ignoring the fact that i am on crutches and Had a suitcase and big backpack. Finally conceeded ny point. Beds are comfy and pillows were good. One sift one firm on each side.. Bathroom lovely except toilaet flush was a bit hit and miss. Location good fir food and touŕist shops but huge road works going on in the front and side of the hotel which is not their fault.
Dodgy toilet flushing Mix up with my booking then trying to move rooms

Everything apart from rude head waiter in restaurant.
I was staying with my daughter and at mealtimes, breakfast mainly, the head waiter ignored me even though I was the one footing the bill! It was so obvious even the ladies on the next table noticed. He never once asked how I enjoyed it, never looked directly at me or interacted with me. Incredibly rude. I was invisible to him for some reason and my daughter too noticed it and was shocked by his behaviour. Maybe some more training in treating all customers equally whether old/young, attractive/unattractive!!

Good choice at breakfast. Room was totally fine thank you. Big room but needed another armchair. [see below] Location of the hotel in central Auckland was perfect for a mid-range hotel.
Only one strange loungy chair thing with an ottoman which was all rather useless, besides being uncomfortable. I was was with friends in other suites so no one could have the three of us in the same room. Horrible glass-top desk with a single chair. Glass looks dirty in a moment, hard, cold, clattery surface. Get rid of the Bible in the drawer! Ridiculous in this day and age. In fact it is offensive!

- I had several online meetings in the hotel’s business center. It’s a great plus to have such a place for a bit of work if one comes with family - the elder concierge guy who way in service both when we arrived and left. He was so nice, cool, professional. Also he saved my life just before 3 minutes of starting an online interview by getting a converter plug. - we loved the big bath tube in our room.
- there were issues with the breakfast, but they have been effectively resolved by the management, so I won’t detail them - an extremely huge plus is the sauna, but the wooden bench should be replaced asap. It’s already black from the sweating of guests. Disgusting. - again there should be used a table or warning on the sauna door that it’s in use. I felt a constant mouse/cat game with cleaning staff: I switched on the sauna to heat it up, after 20 minutes I came down it was switched off, door open - the Sky Tower view from rooms means in practice to follow up the personal life of guests in hotel rooms the opposite side of the road. We loved it, and laughed a lot, but it’s not for all.

Being an IHG memeber and a former hotelier, I am very meticulous with hotel accomodation when we(my family and I) travels either for work or leisure. That’s why I chose to booked at Crowne Plaza Auckland knowing the IHG standards, and it has always been a good experience staying in IHG hotels in diff. countries. Though a bit outdated compared to other hotels in Auckland cbd, they still maintained the cleanliness of the entire hotel. Room was clean, comfy beds, toilet was complete with things we needed except for the toothbrushes that we need to request ( but were sent to us right away when we called the housekeeping). The front office staff were accommodating and friendly in all our requests. We had a smooth and fast check-in/out. The restaurant Aria was still open at 8:30pm when we arrived at night and we had a satisfying dinner with delectable foods served by the attentive and polite F&B staff. The Aria manager did a great job when my daughter didn’t liked and disn’t finished the food she ordered, he immediately offered to change the food and let my daughter choose a substitute and he personally brought it up in our room, and we really appreciated this gesture! Indeed he went an extra mile just to please us. Overall we had an excellent stay in the hotel and we’ll surely recommend this to our friends. Keep up the good job and IHG standards!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The road construction in front of the hotel. We need to follow the trail in order to cross the street😬 The lighting of the room was a bit dark..

I just wanted to say what a wonderful stay my family and I had last night. We arrived early because my parents had stayed the night before, the staff checked us in early and offered (if we joking IHG) late check out. Room was lovely and side by side with my parents. Are two days of breakfasts and dinner in the hotel and were so happy with them all - both quality and price. The hotel is clean and tidy and so central and the parting was great. But my biggest praise is for the staff. They were all absolutely delightful- professional, attentive and so helpful. The younger man with glasses on the late breakfast service Friday and Saturday was just the absolute best and truely made my stay. My family and I will definitely be back. Thanks you
