Heritage Auckland, A Heritage Hotel

There's two sides to this hotel - what I'd call the hotel and then the tower block. I stayed in the hotel which has fantastic view of the Harbour Bridge. You also look down onto the large outside deck with swimming pool. I love the view from the deck, the swimming pool and outside spa and this is why I keep coming back. The room was large compared to other hotel studio rooms. There's also a tennis court but will have to come back again to use this :)

Would prefer a shower instead of a shower over the bath. From memory, I don't think I could turn the air conditioning down to cool the room down so I turned it off at the wall.

The property was very clean. The outdoor pool was amazing (fyi- not great for little kids- the steps are the only thing shallow) Staff was very helpful. Location was amazing- very close to the sky tower. Several convenience stores close by. Gentle walk downhill to the ferry terminal. Stayed in a tower room- actually, it was an entire apartment! Huge, well maintained, kitchen, dining table, washer & dryer, large living room. Separate bedroom, very comfortable bed. Quiet. 2 balconies Large bathroom with a tub and separate walk in shower. This property was perfect for us!

It was great having a choice of pools and spa's, although a bit of a mission to figure out how to get to the indoor ones in the other building. The beds were very comfy. It was great getting a robe & slippers too

No microwave in the rooms! Only an oven. The superior room only had a shower over the bath, and a view of other buildings/the inner square, I definitely recommend the family room if needed, so much nicer & had a proper shower, a bigger tv, a sliding door between the beds & a little kitchenette (still no microwave or coffee plunger though)

Location central and access to restaurants banks and retailers close to the casino and Queen street the price was great and quality, was very impressive rooms were very well.equipt and the one bedroom suites were very impressive beds were so comfortable , Air conditioning was really good at cooling the rooms as needed on those hot days. Best of all about our stay was the check in process as we arrived about 3 hours early after booking our room only an hour prior to our arrival the receptionist was extremely helpful and had us in all checked in and in our room 3 hours prior to 2pm check in, the entire time we were at city life hotel the reception and staff were amazing I would recommend this hotel to all our friends and family the hotel and staff experience was well above all our . expectations ...

We had a great stay thanks to the lovely staff. We had to change room due to general maintenance of the room. Credit to the staff for being extremely helpful and also closing the room we were in for repair. Nothing was an issue and while the room were a bit tired and dated - the comfort was great and really enjoyed our stay. The high ceilings were nice and made the room feel huge.

A bit tired and dated. Rooms needed some maintenance. Bathroom had cracked and loose tiles but as soon as we mentioned this to the staff we were moved to another room that was perfect. Despite the rooms being a bit tired and dated - the staff were wonderful and made our stay really pleasant.

The service was sooooo rude and it felt like they were going under or something as everything extra costed a lot of money. I wish I could remember the name of the man at the counter but he spoke to my partner and as though we were going not get our bond back even though both of us had every intention of following the rules. He was very unsettling and caused a very tense start to our romantic get away. We are young with little money but still deserve to be treated with respect and friendliness as we played by the rules and were kind to the man who treated us with a rude demeanour. He was medium height with a kind of bob hair cut and was perhaps of Indian decent (sorry to assume). But he really did set a horrible tone to our short and expensive stay.

Great facilities. Loved the indoor & outdoor pools, spa, sauna, and gym. Such a great location for getting around to see the Viaduct, shops, sites, cafes & restaurants. Skydrive bus service is across the road at Sky Tower - a 4min walk, excellent service to get you direct to AKL Airport. We had a lot of fun with the hire Scotters when returning from Queen St & the Viaduct in the afternoon as it's quite hilly after a few hours walking about the shops. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay and were able to store our bags after checkout until we were ready to leave the city.

The pool was definitely a big win for us as a family but was a bit disappointed that we weren't told about the other pool and had to ask other guests about it. The room was nice and spacious, but of the 2 rooms we booked, we noticed that one was much nicer than the other in terms of a nicer big screen TV and lighting in the room. The rooftop pool area seems recently renovated and is nice and clean and new. I suggest bringing people floats for your kids as it's very deep (or yourself) if you're not a strong swimmer. Great view and furniture to relax on and pool is open pretty late 11pm unlike most hotel policies where the pool closes at 9 or 10pm.

Key cards stopped working on our 2nd night, the floors were very creaky and you could hear everyone on our floor and above walking around. Housekeeping didn't clean 1 of our rooms instead came and asked if we wanted anything when we had just arrived back after a tiring day out, I didn't want them to come in and clean as we were resting. No instructions on how to use the dishwasher. No restaurant menu or room service which I thought a bit odd for such a big hotel, it seems the restaurant is completely separate from the hotel despite being in the centre of it.

Always accommodating, excellent location to walk everywhere. Clean & tidy, great to have bowls, cutlery etc to enable us to have breakfast in the room as we have earlier starts when we stay here. One day we will be able to utilize the pool etc!

We requested our vehicle the night before from valet parking for 7am, last stay it was waiting for us. This time it wasn't & due to two of us getting vehicles at once we were forgotten. We stayed on level four this time & it was noisy during the night, will request a higher room next time. Shower design means it floods the bathroom floor, bit of a hazard.

The perfect location. Close to everything. Beautiful building. Very spacious, clean bedrooms. The beds, mattress topper and pillows were the best we've ever experienced. My children loved the rooftop pool. The views were better than The Grand Hotel. Loved that the pool was heated. Beautiful spacious spa aswell. We ate at the German restaurant downstairs for buffet breakfast and it was fantastic. Very good value for money. Staff were courteous and helpful.

I would have rated the hotel a 10 if room service was available.
