March 2023

We were in Auckland to tour the city and bit before boarding a Viking cruise so the hotel location was excellent. Room was clean and quiet, mostly, as the city quieted at night. We did not have breakfast in the hotel

We were “slipped” an exorbitant fee for “early checkin”, approximately 2 hours before the official check in. We did not ask for early check in, just a place to store our luggage until check in. Obviously the rooms were ready or they would not have been offered so why an extra, very high fee = about half of the nightly rate we were paying which was not inexpensive. We asked for the fee to be removed and it was when we paid the bill

Was a very short walk from the cruise ship to hotel. Staff was friendly and gave us early check-in which was unexpected and appreciated. Room was very nice, not huge but plenty of room- bed comfortable and shower was great.

Rooms were not sound-proof, we were on the fifth floor and I could hear street noises very clearly, cars and trucks going by and people when they talked loudly or shouted. Luckily, even though it was weekend the street noise quieted down soon after nine PM. I would suggest a room on upper floors if possible.

staff were really friendly and helpful. lovely comfortable surroundings

we contacted the hotel to ask about valet parking as we were from out of town and travelling by car. they said it was on a first in first serves. we arrived as early as we could but the parking outside the hotel was coned off. we didn't know where to go with our car so parked just behind the cones and ended up with a ticket. however after I contacted the hotel and advised them of what happened they offered to pay for the parking ticket which was awesome. just letting me know how to access the entrance with a vehicle could have been helpful and avoided that

Room was clean.

I was a bit taken aback by the comments from the receptionist when I checked out. She commented on the number of drinks we had at the bar and said something along the lines of 'looks like you had a busy night, lots of drinks on your bar tab'. We don't go for a night out to be scrutinized by the staff, it is none of their business what we do. A more appropriate comment would have been ' did you have an enjoyable night?'. It definitely will make us reconsider staying here again, and we always stay here when we come to Auckland.

Comfortable bed. Great location, close to queen st, britomart, viaduct etc. The new hand and body lotion smelt divine. The breakfast buffet was well laid out, fresh and a nice selection of food to choose from

First time with a room on the city side. Live music being played outside across the road kept us awake until the early hours (It was first weekend of Fifa World Cup and Auckland was bustling so we were not overly worried by the music). However, there was more road noise all night on this side also. It was much quieter when we have stayed on the “sea view” side of the hotel on previous visits

The staff were exceptional in their provision of customer service. All of them! The children were offered free ice-creams on arrival and again on departure. A late checkout was arranged on request and an extension offered because the baby was sleeping. The location was superb although it was raining when we woke, so we didn't get to enjoy the waterfront as hoped. We paid the $50 for onsite valet parking, which is expensive, but all parking in downtown Auckland is exorbitant I think. We were glad we were parked onsite as we had many items of luggage and two small children to negotiate.

Nothing to report here.

We were able to walk to the hotel after we disembarked from our cruise. The hotel was less then a block from the dock. We arrived early and the hotel gladly checked our bags for us so we could enjoy the day in Auckland. Rooms were very modern and clean and the breakfast was satisfying.

The only drawback was the windows. Since it was a weekend night when we were there the crowd noise coming from the street was a bit on the loud side,

Location ideal for touring downtown Auckland & beyond. Good for foot traffic, walking shopping sites as well as close access to the ferry which we took advantage of for day trips.

The coffee bar in lobby was not open as much as expected. Also it did not offer am beverages such as mimosas, etc. However, the person working the bar on 2 mornings was excellent yet I did not get her name.

Location was excellent. Easy to walk to Queen Street, harbour, and Ferry building. Nice size room with two queen beds and two sofa chaises. Great view- we could see the ocean from 8th floor. Clean and modern. Comfy beds. Nice touches like robes, slippers, thoughtful toiletries. Restaurant - outstanding view and good Korean inspired food. Host and waiter were attentive and professional.

I kept missing chocolate hour! (not the hotel's fault).

We arrived at 9pm and the restaurant had already closed for dinner but we had a pretty good room service dinner - the butter chicken was moorish and the steak pretty good for room service. The room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast (on the top floor with views over the harbour) was good - I enjoyed the variety of ingredients for my DIY juice.

We had a rental car and found it pretty tricky to find the location (the sat bag struggled to find the property and with streets closed to general traffic and some dedicated only to public transport plus others only one-way, we ended up driving around the CBD for half an hour. Parking is offsite. The AC was set to 21C in the room and rather cold too everywhere else in the building.
