The property location was amazing! A five minute walk (up and down step hills, just for consideration) and you’re in the CBD and likewise in a different direction you’re at Woolworths. The property was excellent value for money, and the washer / dryer was an added bonus! The staff were more than happy to give me extra washing machine sachets / shampoos etc. The hotel looked after our suitcases on the day of checkout for free. Over it’s a great stay if you’re on a budget.
I’d stayed at a couple of other Quests before (in NZ / Australia) and this room seemed dated compared to the others. The cleanliness wasn’t the best - the vents in the bathroom were both covered in dust (very lumpy dust, been there for a long time) and one of the shelves in the shower was fully broken (they were tiny shelves as it is, so one wasn’t useful). The bathroom was extremely dated and the water supply goes cold after a while (I assume other people in the hotel using water impacts your own water supply - not something you should get in a hotel!)

Apartment, while tired, was very clean and well supplied with everything needed. Appreciated the laundry liquid so we could get on top of our holiday washing!
No air conditioning. Tried calling reception a few times from our room during daytime hours regarding a wifi issue but couldn't get an answer. Wifi was ok for general use but not great for streaming to TV. For a two bedroom apartment and our family of four, we thought one couch was not enough for 'comfortable' living. To watch a movie together we had to use kitchen dining chairs - throw in a couple of beanbags or occasional chairs and it would be great!

The front desk staff, a lovely girl who's name I sadly don't remember, was superb - check in and check out were so smooth, handled my taxi bookings to the airport and gave me advice for how much time I would need to get there etc The location is great, just a 10 minute walk down to the Britomart area where there are plenty of restaurants on the waterfront. Felt super safe staying here as a solo female traveller. Room was a good size and comfortable to be in.
The bed was not the most comfortable, had a slight lump in the middle, and the air conditioner wasn't working but they had provided a fan and made sure to turn it on and open the window well before I arrived so that the room was still cool.

It was great to have a kitchen/living room area separate from the sleeping area for two people with different sleeping schedules who need to cook to address dietary restrictions. We appreciate that there was a baking dish provided for the oven (which properties rarely have). We used all kitchen appliances and utensils provided. The grocery store within a 10-minute walk was an excellent resource. The in room laundry with detergent provided was a perk. For the most part, wireless internet was reliable. We found the furniture and decor inviting and comfortable.
Please consider providing the following items in the kitchen: A measuring cup, teaspoons, can opener and cheese grater. A door stop was placed in the floor in front of the toilet to prevent the door from hitting the wall. It created a frequent trip/toe-stubbing hazard. The lack of window covering on some of the living room windows created an unpreventable glare at the end of the day when sitting on the sofa. We would stay at ASR properties more often, but they are often too expensive for our budget. I think we got a deal with a last-minute booking.

It was easy to get to with on site parking that wasn’t complex to organise and use. They clearly marked our car park that I had reserved with my name and the date as well which I thought was a really personal touch and makes is fool proof for people like me lol. I’ve stayed a lot of places and never had them put my name on a car park so I was tickled actually! Big mirrors all clean no smudges. Comfy beds. Had a smart TV. Lots of power points and lamps and light switches. Just comfortable 🩵
Dislike is too strong of a word but I did notice that the apartment is older so it was flawlessly clean, had really nice equipment (microwave, pots pan and an over etc) but the tiles on the floor were a little bit tired. The shower door was quite stiff at the top to open. Not an issue but it made it noisy and you had to push the door open quite hard. This is if I had to nit pick anything. Value for money was fabulous 3 people 2 room apartments with appliances and a balcony $399

Eden Crescent is close to Shortland Street and the centre of the city. Albert park is very close. Very well located, especially, if you visit Auckland University. The apartments were clean and roomy enough for 2 (we had 2 2-bedroom apartments, travelling with 4 people for work). Staff are very helpful and onsite from 7 am to 7 pm. There is a parking garage, if you need it (costs extra).
The beds have a ridge in the middle, which is a bit uncomfortable. Everything is a bit dated - the elevator buttons do not always respond; the shower holders were worn and cracked. There was mildew behind the dryer on the wall. It is not much but be aware, if you react allergic.

Location couldn't have been better with an easy walk to CBD and pretty much anything you would need. I was upgraded and the staff were absolutely lovely. Room was excellent space-wise. Great view as well of the harbour and the local environs. Small deck was great for enjoying the view with a glass of something nice.
Bed was very firm. I like a firm bed but this was very hard. Parking is very tight underneath the building, as everybody seems to drive SUVs these days, need to be a competent driver to get in and out without mishap. Room needs a refurb. Is a little tired with some facings and the bathroom needing fixing in a small way. Not really an issue though as the rest of the package at this price more than makes up for it.

Compact studio apartment with all the facilities I needed for a 3 night stay. Clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Walking distance from the station, harbour, CBD and sky tower.
Check in took approx 3 attempts for the access to be granted to the lock box, had to keep calling. Buttons for entry, exit and the lift often took multiple presses to gain access - this was just a minor frustration and it shouldn’t let you not stay here - overall it’s a great complex. The location is fantastic to be able to walk to many places, and the building is great, clean and secure, however, the street it was in felt a little run down itself, again not a reason to not stay there as everything else is great but I don’t think I would feel particularly safe on the street after dark if I was on my own. During the day had no issues and was not put after dark during my stay.

The location is quiet. The kitchen is fully equipped. Clothes can be washed and dried. There is a Chinese restaurant 10 minutes' drive away that is open until 10 p.m.
The parking space is on the first floor of the basement downstairs. Driving the Camry we rented in and out is quite a test of driving skills. We have to be very careful not to scratch the car. It is suggested to provide the guests with more convenient parking spaces on the second floor.

It's a great hotel, I've already reviewed but extended my stay for an extra night because I was happy with my room so I'll add a couple of things. Having a washer and dryer was fantastic. Room is compact but functional. Central location, short walk to everything. Staff were friendly, room was clean, nice coffee and tea, balcony access was nice....
Reception hours were limited, mainly business hours I think, I checked out early and reception was manned but I think they finish at 5pm?? The security doors won't let you in through the front doors without swiping your room key, even during business hours ie, through the day when reception was open, also you had to push a button to exit whilst reception was manned, maybe a motion sensor to exit would be better. Location is a pretty steep hill to walk to city so if you are elderly or not very mobile you might like to stay somewhere closer to Queen st or the waterfront.
