The Grange Motel

Lovely large, tiled bathroom with large shower and space on vanity beside the sink to put items. Great location which is a very short walk to Hagley Park events area for a concert. Very comfortable large bed and pillows. Clean and well maintained.

Parking a bit tight but to be expected for the location and was still fine for an SUV on a very busy night. Netflix initially didn't work as needed new batteries in the remote, but we pointed this out to the staff and they were replaced immediately.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Excellent location. Quiet street. We stayed in the studio apartment with a kitchenette that was quite roomy. Spacious bathroom. Free parking.

The double glass doors that opened up onto a lovely courtyard were great but our room was directly opposite the breakfast area so was not very private at that time of day.

it was clean and comfortable although the bedroom room was cold. We were able to heat it a little with the heater in the lounge but not very satisfactory. We couldn’t get the air conditioning unit in the bedroom to work. The shower was good but flooded the bathroom despite us being careful. The breakfast was nice but the bacon and eggs was purely that, no little extras like sausage or hash browns. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend, we were very comfortable.

The Great location is within a short walk to the centre of town, the arts centre, botannical gardens and museum. Having free off street parking in this area of the city was a huge bonus. I arrived early to attend a conference and it was no problem for me to park before the checking in time🙂. I was in the motel units at the rear and found it very quite.

The location was perfect, with the Art Gallery, Arts Centre and central Christchurch all within easy walking distance.

In the bathroom the floor tiles, including in the shower, were very slippery. The shower was very roomy, but we would have liked a towel rail closer to the shower entrance. A heated towel rail (great) was more than 2 metres away from the shower - not so good with slippery tiles!

The location was perfect for our reason to be in Chch - near venues we needed to be walking distance to, The cleanliness was great and room was roomy. It was also very quiet.

We had trouble to close a blind in the bedroom area and needed to get the owner to do this - it may need replaced as was very 'stuck' in an open position.

Walking distance to town, very clean and tidy, a great shower and bathroom. A nice courtyard out the front. The host were very welcoming.

There must have been a slight leak from the cistern into the toilet as occasionally we heard the cistern topping up during the night. Easily rectified by closing the bathroom door. There was also some condensation on the doors in the morning. But didn't feel damp in the room.

A bed and breakfast and modern motel rooms tucked behind. Beautifully appointed and modern room. We had a two night stay. Unfortunately, being Christmas, not much was open. However, the Apron Cafe put on a beautiful brekky, which was just down the street. The botanical gardens were magnificent and in easy walking distance from our accommodation.

We have stayed here numerous times when we travel through Christchurch and will continue to do that when we return. Great space, super comfy big bed, nice and quiet and convenient to town centre and Town Hall for shows. Staff are always friendly.

The parking on the premises is quite limited and can be tight when a lot of people are driving big cars/suv/4wd these days. So be sure to not too block the entrances when you park your car.

Great, central location, and back from the street meant no traffic noise. The shower had the best pressure I've had in any motel of this price range - it was superb. Comfortable room with doors to deck able to open widely. I really appreciated how the hosts let me keep my car parked after check out until early afternoon, so I could finish my conference at Te Pae without having to find other parking that day. Thank you.

Wifi was very slow for the laptop, so only used the phone. Parking area is quite pokey.
