Wifi didn't work in room Better on balcony Too many ferns in front of balcony view. Couldn't see harbour properly Generally very clean: however, very slight black mould residues in shower and around basin Hot tub out of action due to contamination with oily lotions...not sure how you would get round that in 26 degree heat when everyone is lathered up in sunscreen. Could have been updated with Air Con Fan wasn't great at keeping room cool but better than nothing

Booked this Lodge for two nights during the New Year. Quiet neighborhood, Lodge was fully booked but even during the NY celebrations everyone respected privacy. As you can see in the photos, the vegetation is wild and beautiful. But Lodge is not in the bushes, it has direct access to the main Coromandel road. Great BBQ common zone near the pool. Beautiful if you arrive late and need to prepare dinner and don't want smell on the room. The room also has a small kitchen - ideal for preparing breakfast or something quick (as there is no hood in the kitchen). It is not a brand-new building, so a little bit of mold. But overall room is clean, bedding and towels are fresh and clean. Beautiful nature, sunrise view, birds singing. Quick access to the other side of the Coromandel peninsula. Very good stay for its value. Everything around was far more expensive or worse quality. Every room have a small patio or a balcony. I

Rooms have thin walls, so if you are not so lucky with neighbors, it could be disturbing.

the motel surroundings and buildings were cute, not the usual standard building.We had the (small) pool all to ourselves. Even though there is a road in front it was very quiet. across the road a grassy area. Location was only a walk away from the town. the studio was large enough for the 2 of us, and bathroom also good size. To our surprise , a door out to the back, showed another small seating area surrounded by green shrubs. Out the front also a small deck.

only thing is the tap, I forgot to mention that. Very hard to open and when it does water bursts out! Needs looking at.

Despite its great location and comfortable amenities, the Anchor Lodge motel can be unfortunately noisy at times, especially in the early morning hours, due to some guests forgetting proper etiquette when rising at 4:00.

Nice location, close enough to walk into town, excellent meal at the Peppertree restaurant which was a quick walk. Great facilities, free bikes to use. Room was lovely and clean. The spa in the room was awesome and we definitely made the most of it.

Only two small things which weren't major, but could hear the people in the other room even just the cutlery on their plates, wall was paper thin. Also tried to watch the rugby game and the quality of the tv wasn't great and having bad eye sight even with my glasses I had to stand up pretty close to be able to see.

We loved everything! My partner and I had spent our anniversary there and had absolutely zero regrets. The spa and pool were the greatest bit that we enjoyed! Comfy beds, house cleaning were top notch, they'd come everyday to check on our supplies such as toiletries, linen, tea and coffee etc. Staff were super helpful and welcoming. Such a cool area, and we loved how each unit had their names, for example we stayed in the "Last Resort". It's in walking distance to the town centre which had a Four Square, gas station, superettes, eateries and more! Such an awesome and needed getaway my partner and I had. Would definitely love to visit again!

Nothing really, the only thing i'd suggest would to add more channels to the tv in the room we stayed in. But that didn't bother us as we'd taken games and stuff to keep us occupied :)

Great sized rooms (2 bedroom apartment), pool and spa, and very helpful host. We only stay one night but woul happily have stayed longer if we could. Very close to Driving Creek Rail (zipline).

Not the hosts fault at all, but the drive along the Pacific Coast was a bit monotonous (usual route was wiped out by hurricane earlier in the year). Only about an hour from Thames, so not that bad (and nice scenery the last 20 mins or so).

When we arrived we were expecting damage from the recent cyclone but the property was perfect, it was beautifully maintained with manicured gardens, delicious grape vines (we were encouraged to eat the grapes) and perfect little cabins and rooms that resembled a tropical oasis. The customer service was exceptional. We were greeted by the host with a giant smile and an amazing energy and felt at home immediately. It was perfect.

That we only stayed a short time :( We will plan a longer trip and stay again.

Room was great, far more in there than expected. its location is easy to find and has some great views within walking distance, as the main shops area is. room was clean and we were shown to it and had a few rules explained.

Dont think it could have been better, apart from if they had put a six pack of beers in the fridge

I loved the motel a lot. Their bedroom were clean and comfortable to sleep in, so as the bathroom. The kitchen had pots, cups, and soap, basically everything ready for us to start cooking our own dinner.

What I didn't like was their spa. They did not clean the spa well, not changing the water. The spa was very dirty, they should've changed the water, putting in new water.
