The owners went out of their way to make eveything perfect. Everything was immaculately clean and of superior quality. The king size bed and pillows were too soft for me but that's just my preference. Outside was just good with spectacular views and a huge deck to relax on and to enjoy the fabulous breakfast supplied by Lynn. After a day out exploring the Coromendal coast it was lovely to come back to the peace of Atea Lodge and play a game of pool in the games room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Atea Lodge. The owners are very nice people and made us feel very welcomed.

This Lodge is stunning. It has incredible views over the tree tops to the sea, the adjoining wrap around deck huge deck is huge and a great place for breakfast and sunsets. The room was incredibly comfortable, and full of the attention to detail and level of fittings you find in a top hotel. Breakfast served was delicious, fresh, homemade and generous. The hosts here are welcoming and professionals who really care about providing the best guest experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and recommend.

While it is often possible to find a room that is beautifully decorated, and it is possible to stay somewhere that has spectacular views, we cannot think of another place we have stayed that so perfectly combined these two elements. There is not one thing that we can suggest to Kelvin and Lynne to improve the experience that we had at Atea Lodge, from the gorgeous room, to the amazing views from the wrap-around deck, to the generous and delightful breakfast, this place is 10+++.

Stunning property, the most amazing views from the outside terrace. A little outside Coromandel town, up in the hills, but Sharon's taxi service will drop you in and out of town for dinner. The hosts Lynn and Kelvin were so welcoming, a very comfortable room, great shower, and the breakfasts were perfect- set us up for the whole day. Sitting outside in the evenings was one of the highlights of our trip.

Amazing owners/hosts who go above and beyond to make your stay the best.The house and views are exceptional.The room was very clean, very modern bathroom , good bed and furnishings. The very large balcony had chairs ,lounges ,tables and bean bags to sit ouside and admire the excellent views. The area is separate for each room. The lodge has a very large lounge area for guests and an outside bath for guests. The breakfast can be served on the large balcony or in the breakfast room.The hosts Lynn and Kelvin are the best hosts we have stayed with and we travel very regularly. Unfortunately my husband had hurt his back before we arrived at the lodge and was having difficulty finding a comfortable chair to sit on. Kelvin was so helpful bringing different chairs for my husband to see what suited best and gave him a heated water bottle for his back. Also as happens in travelling the weather on one day was very wild, wet and windy and given my husbands back were we happy to stay in the very comfortable room.In the late afternoon Kelvin came to check that we were ok and given the weather , offered a complimentary homemade pizza and wedges for tea. The food was prepared and set up in our room on a small table. After the dishes have been taken from the room, Kelvin arrived with home made cake. We stayed at the lodge in the King Room Seaview 2

The lodge is situated in the heart of Coromandel Peninsula with great access to hikes and beaches. The breakfasts were superb. The hosts were exceptional, very friendly and offered great hikes, beaches, places to eat and the history of the area. The view from the veranda is spectacular. One of the best places we ever have stayed.

Wow I didn’t even know where to start. The best ever experience and almost better than home. Lynn and Kelvin were the most amazing hosts who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We got a free bottle of bubbles to share for hubbies birthday, Lynn even baked him cake for his birthday while Kelvin did the kindest thing anyone has ever done for us, rinsing our car off after returning from a trip to fletcher bay and the car got quite dirty. I mean who does that. It would be hard to top the service, beautiful location, views to die for as well as sitting in the outdoor bath sipping bubbles star gazing with a moorpork for company. Thanks guys. You are simply the best

Absolutely nothing. We had an amazing 3 days

This was our favorite place we stayed in New Zealand. Lynn and Kelvin have thought of everything. We were their only guests so they upgraded us to the best suite. The Manuka Suite was a corner room with two sets of door out to the beautiful porch. Breakfast was delicious and the gardens are beautiful. I highly recommend this beautiful property.

Atea lodge is AMAZING! The room was immaculate, the views were second to none and the owners, Lynn and Kelvin, were the most friendly and hospitable people we have ever meet. When they found out it was our honeymoon, they gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate, when we were running late one night from visiting friends (after midnight), Lynn messaged us to make sure we were ok and not lost is the unfamiliar area, when I asked for a decaf coffee and they didn’t have it, the next morning they had gone out to get it just for me. The breakfasts were PERFECT, from the crockery and cutlery, to the food itself, it would easily be in the top two breakfasts we have ever had (and we have travelled far and wide throughout the world)! We both had the same breakfast for three mornings as we liked them so much we didn’t want to change. The outdoor bath is a fabulous touch to the surrounding area, at night you can see all of the stars and there is a local owl who sits above you in the trees and flutters around above you to catch the bugs that come out for dinner. Ultimately, no detail escapes attention from Lynn and Kelvin, and this attention to detail makes you feel so welcome and comfortable you will never want to leave. We were both sad we didn’t booked for longer, Atea Lodge is 100% worth a visit, try to stay for as long as you can, but we promise you will not regret it! We will definitely be back when we are in NZ next.

It was PERFECT!

Beautiful isn’t enough to describe this place. Truly breathtaking views and a very comfortable stay and I can’t think of anything to make it better. Our hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we wanted and the breakfasts were delicious. We will be back one day, we hope. We will be recommending it to everyone we know.
