We had a very lovely time staying here. Shout out to our wonderful hosts Debbie and Ernst, who've created such a lovely haven! the peace, and time away from the buzz was wonderful, walking up to nature. Simply enjoyed ourselves so much! 1) loved the trails and walks within the premise, we did those with our 5 year old. These were great to start the mornings or to do at dusk, enjoying the tranquility and creating memories. 2) campfire - perfect to wrap the day up as we enjoyed marsh mellows, cookies and chocolates. 3) breakfast - everything was fresh and I particularly loved the honey!! it's from their own bees!! mornings were chilly but perfect to sit at the outdoor area to enjoy a good breakfast in nature! 4) facilities - there's a shared kitchen and dining / lounge area where we had dinner couple of times, thought it was a nice option that it's separated from the room itself. While we didn't use the hot tub and Jacuzzi, it's really only because we had too much to do over too little time! 5) room - definitely enjoyed our room! cleanliness, amenities, it's all perfect especially with Debbie and Ernst who were thoughtful to prepare an extra bed for our boy.
It could be a nice addition for laundry facilities for longer staying guests.

The atmosphere was rejuvenating, I live in the city so the peace and quietness of not hearing cars and trucks and people was so soothing, I will be bringing my family to this retreat next time. I absolutely loved my time there wish I’d stay for a week. Because two days was not enough, the views are magnificent it makes me appreciate my country even more to see how beautiful nature is here in New Zealand. The fact that there was so much to do here without having to pay extra was even more comforting. They even make delicious home made bread, honey, plum jam. Thank use for having us we’ll be back again
That I didn’t stay longer.

Perfect place to stay! Best accomodation we had, not only on the North Island but in total during our 5 weeks NZ trip on both islands! The room was nicely furnitured, the amenities around were awesome - Swiss firering for BBQ with free Marshmallows, a jaccuzi to watch the stars at night, a Treetop bath-house with rainforrest view, a couple of nice and exciting walks through the rainforest, natural pools in the river and even glowworms at night. The pictures don't lie - reality is even better! And for those who still wanted to leave the premises during their stay (which would not be necessary as you've literally got everthing there already to spend some relaxing days), they also borrow spades to dig holes in the Hot water beach and also had some great recommendations on what to do when. Will definitely book again if we're in the area!
We couldn't stay longer...

There was a good choice of food for breakfast .It was delivered to the room ready for the stay. The bread was freshly baked and all the jams and honey were locally produced. The surroundings were beautiful and wonderfully peaceful. Every need was catered for such as spades for the ,Hot Water Beach and crocks for crossing the river on the various walks. There are numerous trails laid out in the forest to suit all levels of challenge. The owners were there to help but never intrusive. If we didn't live so far away we would revisit again and again , The roomsp were very comfortable and well equipped. The communal kitchen worked really well for preparing meals. The location, in the middle of a rain forest, teeming with wildlife is spectacular..
I cannot fault anything

We were a group of 8 and stayed in 2 double rooms and the two-bedroom apartment. Each of these accommodation was perfect: clean, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, outdoor seating, rainfall showerhead. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious: homemade bread, local eggs and honey and jam, cheese, meat, fruit, juice, milk, cereal….The outdoor treetop bath house, fire pit and hot tub were a joy. We LOVED the location - the trails through the rainforest are well maintained and the waterfall climbs are exhilarating. A one-of-a-kind opportunity to reconnect with nature! Lastly, our hosts were so welcoming and attentive, making sure our stay was perfect in every way. Cannot recommend highly enough - a must visit on the North Island of New Zealand.
Everything was perfect!

What an amazing location, deep in the bush, overlooking a river at the bottom of the ravine. The hosts, Debbie and Ernst, were friendly and helpful. The home-made bread and honey from the bees in the back garden were absolutely delicious. Room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. Drive to Whitianga was just over 15 minutes, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds, forest and sea.
Kitchen was in a separate building, which didnt bother us as the weather was good, but could be inconvenient if it's raining (though it's very close to the rooms)

Wairua Lodge is set in a wonderfully secluded spot in the rainforest, where peace and quiet is the order of the day. The hosts are very friendly, presenting us with home baked bread and supplies for our breakfasts on arrival, helpful and respectful. This is a place where you can have as much physical activity and/or relaxation activity with relaxing spa, tree top bath, swim in the swimming holes and hikes for all abilities. You do need to bring some cooking supplies for main meals which can be prepared on the BBQ or in the resort kitchen.
This place exceeded our expectations and we would love to have been able to stay longer.

The Wairua Lodge has to be seen to be believed. A oasis of calm among pristine rainforest and gardens. The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated, breakfast was excellent with home made bread, jams and homey. Nothing too much trouble for our lovely host Debbie and we thoroughly enjoyed the forest trails and quirky facilities, especially the outdoor bath! Our only regret is only staying for two nights with so much to do and see in the area. We thoroughly recommend the lodge as a great location for exploring Coromondel.

Wairua Lodge was just wonderful. It was tranquil, beautiful (surrounded by bushland) and peaceful. Very calming place. It has lovely fresh watering swimming holes to have a dip in, private bath looking out to the bush and has a spa pool and firepit. The hosts were great and welcoming. Breakfast was great, all homemade from the bread, honey and jam. The studio room and bathroom was lovely, clean and comfortable. Thank you just what we needed and we will definitely be coming back. We totally recommend the lodge :)

Loved how peaceful it was coming down the beautiful driveway into an absolute oasis. Everything was very well thought out and the rooms were exceptional, a comfy and rustic feel yet quite modern. The hosts also did a great job of the lighting around the place, very moody and perfect for the location. The property itself was amazing, beautiful scenic walks with the amazing swing bridge over the river, then at night being able to see glow worms 5 minutes walk from your room.
Slow and limited wifi, so no movie streaming. Definitely not a deal breaker but would be good to have unlimited WIFI.
