Friendly and helpful hosts with lovely pool and hot tub. Only three rooms, so no overcrowding. Breakfasts very nice. Apart from the below it was a delightful place to stay on a summer holiday.

The room was quite small. It had no A/C or good air flow, a problem on warmer nights. With the lack of fly screens, insects were also a problem. Check the status of A/C as the hosts said they were looking to install it. The biggest room on the other hand does already have A/C and is clearly far superior; the absence of the above problems in it would make it worth paying the extra.

If you like to mix it up for breakfast from the cleverly designed breakfast menu then you have come to the right place. We really enjoyed the a la carte model of having the breakfast brought directly to the bedroom which is a great opportunity for a chat and catch up with what’s happening locally. The gardens are beautifully mature and well set out - plenty to see for us gardening nerds! We just loved watching the Tuis, Blackbirds, Kereru and Grey Warblers as well as many other delightful birds of a feather. We don’t see many of these from our 22 floor of our apartment block in downtown Seoul, but we know that Kerikeri is where we want to be. The spa tub was used every night and a welcome visit from our busy days out. Fluffy robes, slippers, eco toiletries and a great selection of teas to brew were welcome additions.

We are tea nerds so when asked if we could have a pot of tea each for breakfast, it was an easy fix for Tania. Nothing was too much trouble. Tea cups in the bedroom, whilst lovely in themselves, were not quite big enough for us tea guzzlers so next time we might bring our own tea mugs (there is already a next time booked!). This is not a ‘What didn’t you like’ comment, rather an observation if you like a nice big mug of tea in he morning.

Everything was exceptional right from the very moment we first made contact. Nothing was an issue. The owners are lovely, welcoming and kind. So many fine details that we really appreciated having had. A peaceful afternoon and evening listening to birdsong and finishing our day with a spa was bliss. In the morning we recieved a fabulous breakfast and left feeling restored and revived, ready for another day. If Peace and tranquility is what you're after Pāteke Lodge is the right place for you.

I had an unforgettable stay at Pāteke Lodge. Tania, the host, was incredibly kind, making the experience even more enjoyable. The place was impeccably clean, beautiful, and had a perfect atmosphere. The delicious and perfect breakfast, coupled with a relaxing soak in the hot tub, added an extra layer of luxury to my stay. Highly recommended for a truly memorable getaway! We'll definitely be back soon for another wonderful getaway!

Tania looked after us brilliantly! The rooms are large, spotless and overlook the beautiful peaceful garden with table and chairs on the terrace. The beds are really comfortable. Breakfast is excellent with multiple choices, locally sourced ingredients and delivered to the room by Tania every morning. There is also a hot tub available to guests by the pool. We had a few fabulous and relaxing days here, highly recommended

This was one of the most exceptional stays we have had. The location was beautiful, native / tropical plantings with plenty of birdlife and privacy. The room was pristine, well set up (no cooking facilities, as advertised), bathroom was modern and lovely. The breakfasts were exceptionally good. Hosts Tania and Troy bent over backward to make our stay comfortable, and to support ideas for local activities. Plenty of privacy, but they were available promptly if we needed. Wifi fast and reliable. The spa and pool were great. Nice attention to environmentally friendly hosting too. We would come back happily. Local eateries were great also.

Absolutely everything! From the Welcome to all the little details of the room, eg vanilla oak scented sticks, the 'T' on the key ring representing our room name, the eco products, the relaxing huge space, chocolates on the pillow, the clever decor and the spacious bathroom. Proximity to everything we wanted to visit and see couldn't have been better. Breakfast was amazing and we even got to pick 'Kerikeri' oranges and grapefruit from the trees to take home.

I liked ordering our breakfast the night before and having it delivered to our room the next morning. And it was a great breakfast!

Our first night, we were the only guests and it was lovely. The second night there were guests next door and we could hear them through the walls. The walls need some sound insulating. It felt like they were right on top of us.

The room was absolutely spotlessly clean. We stayed in the Takahe Suite which is very spacious with a huge bathroom. Everything you could possibly want was provided, and Tania and Troy were only too happy to help with anything needed. The breakfasts were phenomenal, as reported by many other guest reviewers. That’s a word that’s often overused, but entirely appropriate to describe the home made muesli/granola, the homemade berry compote, the delicious local bacon……

We felt super spoilt! Tania is amazing and from te minute we arrived she made us feel so special. Everything was super tidy and clean and the birdlife were just amazing. The garden was beautiful and felt so secluded and private. There were beautiful clean fluffy white bathrobes which gave you a hotel feel and the bathroom and room were spotless. The breakfast was out of this world yummy. You get given a menu and then you let Tania know what you would like and at what time and then it is service with a smile right to your door. Highly recommend🤗🌷🤗
