Loved the location, the space in the room itself & the shared space in the lounge, dining and kitchen area. Rooms overlooking the bush filled hillside, with lots of native plants/trees and the sound of native birds. Close to good amenities too.

Not a huge fan of the eco-toiletries and toilet paper, though happy to compost our food waste and seperate out recycling in the kitchen. Cleanliness could be improved (as windows could do with a good clean and a few cobwebs and spiders in evidence, also the short grouting), however the place felt and smelt very clean and comfortable and would happily stay again.

The property was gorgeous. Our room was spacious and comfortable, overlooking native bush, with a balcony and lots of beautiful birdsong. The use of the well-appointed shared kitchen and BBQ was great. We cooked in a couple of nights and enjoyed the spacious dining and living area almost every evening. Breakfast ingredients were supplied for you to put together as you wished (cereal, bread, butter, jam, eggs etc). There was an espresso machine too which was a really nice touch. Richard, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful, as was Amelia, the cleaner. We also has in room massages arranged by Richard, which were glorious - highly recommend Annamieke, our massage therapist.

Nothing. I would return there anytime.

Fantastic location close to the famous Stone store and mission house. 5 minute drive to the centre of Keri Keri. The owner was very welcoming and full of knowledge about the area. I liked that he had a let me know what works / not sheet in the room so you could provide direct feedback. The rooms look out over beautiful Kiwi native bush. The kitchen is awesome and the help yourself breakfast great. Good communal areas as well.

The location was great, close to scenic walks and great restaurants. Moments after we arrived Richard popped by to welcome us and to let us know that he would be nearby if there was anything we might need. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a heated floor in the bathroom and we particularly liked the floor to ceiling windows which looked directly into the lush garden. Shortly after we settled into our room we were greeted by a tui who regularly stopped in the tree directly outside our window to sing his beautiful song. We were so impressed and it was one of the highlights of our trip in the Bay of Islands. Outside the room had a porch with a small table and two chairs to further enjoy the garden setting and views down to the river, we didn’t use it as it had been raining and the seats were wet. We were sorry not to have had more time to stay at such a special place as there is a lot more to it than the rooms.

If I had to find something I would suggest a couple of bath robes would be helpful when dashing into the kitchen in the morning for some milk, as it was not provided inside the mini fridge in our room.

Size of the room and bathroom were great. Access to the communal areas worked well for us as we like to be on our own so we didn't need to 'stay in our room'. Easy instructions to get into the building were available. Wifi was excellent.

I misunderstood that there are a number of rooms that are 'let' with a communal kitchen / lounge / dining area. Luckily we were the only ones there on our 1 night which suited us. The mosquitos are killers. Suggest that personal insect repellent is recommended as I came home with a couple of inflammatory bites (and no, I didn't scratch them to cause this). Mozzies are coming up through the pipes even with the screens on windows. Two TV channels only - really???

Lovely big room with a balcony overlooking bush. Comfortable bed. Lovely kitchen/sitting area. Good choice of breakfast foods. Close to a great restaurant, a Maori village recreation and lovely walks nearby. There is the old Stone House and a lovely cafe very close by. Kerikeri town is a short drive away.

We had a great stay celebrating our Ruby wedding anniversary ❤️

Nice quiet location walking distance to the Stonestore and the Plough and Feather. Friendly host.

As this seems to be a converted house offering guest rooms and shared kitchen for guests to use it seems to lack the sound insulation from other guests you would get in a hotel or motel. Our room shared a wall with the kitchen and was very noisy. It was winter and room suffered badly with condensation.

This lodge was really superb, beautiful location, close to many nice walks and a stones throw from the Stone Store and Kemp house. The restaurant just 5 min walk away, Pough & Feather , is fantastic. Local markets are good too. Richard was a great host and super accommodating. The grounds and lodge are amazing.

There was nothing to not like .

Richard has created a beautiful oasis for visiting Kerikeri. There were great places to eat a few minutes walk away especially Maha and the beautiful garden adjacent. The Plough & Feather has bay views of Stone Storey and nice beer for those missing ale in England. Nice coast to explore north and west or walk along the river. We look forward to visiting again someday and staying here again.

The location was wonderful, set amongst the trees, not far from the Stone Store and inlet. Our room was delightful, well appointed and comfortable. After travelling by ourselves it was a treat to share breakfast and holiday experiences with other guests.

Absolutely nothing!
