Good size and location. Kitchen was helpful. Close to the city centre.

Walls were really dusty, and ants came into the kitchen. Everything else was clean though. Pool was closed because it was green and they didn’t really know why. Wasn’t planning on using it but probs good for future people to know.

Location - right near the lake front, we enjoyed the short, flat walk into 'town' and stumbled across the markets on a Sunday morning. Parking was right outside the front door (no steps for our assigned room) which was amazing given we were travelling with an infant. The staff provided a portacot free of charge as well during our stay. There was a clothes drying rack in the room - we were on the road for a few weeks and needed places with washing facilities, not all places with washing machines have drying racks so we were very very pleased when we found one here. Our room was spacious and was a lot bigger than we expected, we got settled in pretty quick and it felt very homely. We loved our stay in Taupo!

We had a fantastic stay at The Village Resort Taupo, thanks to the wonderful new management by Carole and Paul. Despite only recently taking over, they handled an issue with our initial apartment promptly and efficiently, relocating us to a clean, comfortable, and quiet one-bedroom apartment that had everything we needed. Their dedication and attention to detail made our stay truly enjoyable and relaxing. We have no doubt that under their leadership, the resort will continue to improve and get even better. We would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to seeing how the resort thrives under their care!

The room had all the necessary items, it has parking per room which is nice, you can see the lake from the room.

In terms of cleaning it was kinda of meh, we encountered some larvae when we checked in near the dining table and on the bathroom floor (could’ve been from the outside trees or maybe some bug, doesn’t matter). Also, upon closer inspection you could’ve see a lot of areas that didn’t see the dust pan in a very long time. When we went to talk with the owner, already we told that we flushed them out because it was just gross and we didn’t thought to take pictures, he said he will go with us to check out the room. Ok, no problem here just that he didn’t apologize or just saying something to ensure us that the room was thoroughly cleaned or to suggest to vacuum the room again, we had to ask for it to be done the next day. All in all, crappy attitude and 0 interest in their clients.

It was a lovely place, bed was too firm for my liking, and nails on deck were sticking up but brought up the deck issue they got there maintenance guy straight on to it. Kitchen bread knife and scissors would have been good if they could have cut something, also no plastic utensils but non stick frying pan. They were only miner problems.

Large rooms, great shower, having a washing machine in room was awesome. And friendly helpful staff.

The location was excellent The facilities were also very good, lots of room for two couples The beds were clean & comfortable

The staff on greeting us were very "disinterested" We arrived at 2.45 (check in 2.00pm) Their first words were "I`ll check if the room is ready yet" When I mentioned check in was at 2.00pm and it was now 2.45 his reply was "Well that can`t be helped" A different man walked through reception and barely acknowledged us, then a woman came and also mentioned about checking if the room was ready. Not once did any of the 3 people we encountered smile or greet us in a friendly manner, they just "went through the motions"

This full size apartment was ideal for our needs on a touring holiday. It had a comfy bed, spacious bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The washing and drying equipment were very useful. The lounge was comfy and warm. The staff were incredibly helpful and cheerful . The complex is in walking distance of the nearby town. We loved it and wished we could have stayed longer. The swimming pool and tennis courts are a bonus. Numbered parking spaces are a good idea.

Apart from going up a dog legged stairs with heavy cases that was a pain but manageable there is nothing to add

Huge, one bedroom apartment with full, well equipped kitchen and sunny balcony. Easy walk to town and restaurants, we had the upstairs room next to the tennis court - perfect for us as we play everyday so we gave it plenty of use, love a hotel with tennis court! Quiet at night, comfortable bed. Great stay in Taupo, would definitely stay again 😁

We brought our own little Nespresso machine as nasty instant coffee sachets just don't cut it! At this price point Id expect to see the kitchen equipped with one. The stereo didn't work in Rm 22 and the young chap at reception didn't seem at all interested when I told him. The tennis court needs a regular sweep/leaf blow, to remove quite a bit of debris from the trees and hedge. It's a good non slip surface but needs some care.

An impeccably clean & well-appointed unit - it contained both a full kitchen & a laundry (washer & dryer) as well as a separate bedroom, a seating area with comfortable couches & 50in TV, and a dedicated dining area, so inside it was very spacious. We didn't have a view of the lake, but there was dedicated outdoor seating space & car parking right outside the unit. It was an easy 5 - 10 minutes walk to restaurants & bars & literally across the road from the lake.

The only downside was the queen bed. Unfortunately the mattress was VERY firm. I slept poorly as my shoulders & hips ached due to the unforgiving mattress. It really needs a foam topper pad to provide a bit of softness & comfort.

The accommodation was huge! It was more like a 1 bedroomed flat than a motel. Full kitchen facilities and a comfortable lounge. Went to pub next door for dinner which was also really good. There were barbecue facilities, a pool and a clubroom which we didn't use.

Major road works had started on the Lake Road the day we arrived which meant we couldn't access the road. Our sat nav went into berserk function while I tried to find a route from the main road! A warning email from the motel would have helped with a suggested diversionary access route.
