The location was great. The spa was good.

The parking was way too tight, and unallocated. Add this to people incapable of parking entirely within the line marking, and it made it difficult. When we arrived there were three cars parked in front of our room, with no way to go around them, and insufficient room to wheel our bags between them, so I had to hold them over my head, which is not so easy. To be honest, I think you would be better placed having less parking, but more accessibility to the rooms, and some people would just have to park on the street.

Hotel is easy locatable from main highway. Good location for access to town and local sights. the Lodge is situated around the corner, from the main lake side road, but from our room we did have a view of the lake. It is possible to walk into the town centre, as on the flat, but easy accessible by car. The room was of a good size, well equipped, and large private terrace with hot tub. The car park area was small, but whilst we were there we had no problem in parking. There is also room on the street. The swimming pool area was nice and the warm water both there and in the hot tub were welcome after a long drive. It is within a 10 minute walk of the Mole and Chicken pub, which is worth a visit. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Wi-Fi signal was weak and dropped out at times.

2-night What a wonderful find! The motel met every expectation and we had a wonderful stay. Booked here because of the private thermal pool, which was tremendous; we also had a private garden and a view (albeit, standing up) of the lake - which we hadn’t expected. The room (allocated the accessible option) was a great size, with an exceptionally comfy bed and everything we needed for a perfect stay. The motel team were brilliant and so helpful; nothing was ever too much trouble. I particularly liked the power outlet hub on the bedside table which had x3 USB ports, making the multiple charging requirements of this modern age simple and convenient. The local town was within walking distance for me, even needing to push my disabled wife in her wheelchair. However, I enjoy the exercise - I guess it may be a little far for some as probably close to a mile each way. In summary, very highly recommended.

We had a fantastic relaxing stay, the bed was huge and comfortable, the rooms were huge and so clean. The outdoor private mini thermal baths really sealed the deal for us, the photos do not do the property or these baths justice, it is absolutely fabulous and we found it very romantic - but families or lone travellers would also love it. It was a very central location and we were able to conveniently park and charge our car outside our flat for free. The reception lady was so helpful, she helped us find a compatible car charger as ours didnt seem to fit their outdoor sockets, nothing was a problem for her and her upbeat pleasant attitude started our stay off on the right foot. I truely can't believe this place was as cheap as it was, it's an absolute steal! I would 100% go back and my fiance agrees with me completely. It was one of the highlights of our North New Zealand road trip in terms of lodging.

Literally nothing could hae been better.

The whole facility was amazing! I loved the rooms, the spa and the heated pool! We booked the lake view hotel and it was definitely worth spending the extra little bit to get the lake view!!!!! When the weather is good the lake just looked so magnificent from the balcony 😊! The gentleman staff was super nice and allowed us to check out couple hours later when we requested for it a few days before we arrived, and had a nice chat with the lady staff right before we left, all was well, couldn't ask for anything better. We will be back for sure! Thank you for having us!

Nothing!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. She gave us recommendations for places to eat as soon as we arrived. Our favorite was the 2 mile sailing Club for drinks and pizza. The bed was comfortable and thermal pool was nice to experience. We were thankful to have available laundry facilities to use too.

The shower water got most of the bathroom wet when we showered despite our attempts to place towels and make sure the curtain could block the spray of the water. Although we were supplied with more towels for our next day :)

We had an awesome stay. The staff were friendly. Our room was well equipped with everything we needed. The bed is comfy, and big! The room is a good size, and the view is gorgeous! Shower had good water pressure, and the spa bath is a great size. The pool is lovely, nice and warm. Convenient to most things you want to do in Taupo. Would definitely recommend staying here.

There is no allocated parking, so if you are in and out sightseeing and whatnot, there's no guarantee your car park will still be available. But it's not really that much of a worry, just park in a different space.

Best Motel we have ever stayed in, in Taupo. The morning of the day that had been booked for, I received a courtesy text from Gary, the owner, with details inregards to our room, parking and office hours, which I thought was nice of him; 1st motelier I've known to do that. There is not a bad/annoying/upsetting word to be said about this place, at all. Beautiful service provided from Gary, the room we were in, #11, $1,000,000+ views out over the lake, either by just leaning on the rail on over a cupper, for those inclined. ( clear views of the mountains too ), nice and cozy room, comfy Super King bed, Sky on the TV, under floor heating and a heat pump, and a beautiful shower too. Downstairs rooms each have their own spa ( I chose to go with the view instead ). Oh, and the pool.....DAMN!!! SO NICE!!!! Like I said, a little bleat/whinge about the car parks, but no other guides at all. WE WILL STAY AGAIN!!!!

Only to be picky for a sec, but just beware that car parks aren't allocated here , so 1st come 1st served, and there 1 or 2 spaces which are tight, but only for those with Ford Rangers lol.

The staff and owners were excellent, and the geothermal pool, room, beds and facilities were great. Very clean, very comfortable.

The view. We were on a ground floor room which looked nothing like the pictures on Booking.com. There was no view as we had a high fence and the garden which was part of our room's deck was a mess, weedy and unkempt. The room was quite dark due to the fence, and felt a bit damp as well. That was a bit of a disappointment. I booked the room 4 months in advance and was not expecting the view out the large deck windows and door. Other than that it was a very good stay.

The room was a very good size, and the kitchenette was an extra bonus. I absolutely loved the diner set used and have been on a hunt for the same ever since this booking. it was extra clean and the spa pool in the room was the best thing that came with this accommodation. We had a private natural water spa pool for ourselves. The shared Pool in the lodge was really good too! No other place in New Zealand has shown so much value for Money. It is the perfect place to relax and slow down during the long weekend we stayed there. The staff were very kind and they helped us with information as to attractions and places we could eat outside. I would definitely come here again and recommend BayCrest to anyone who visits Taupo.

My only feedback would be to give us better cleaning tools for the private spa pool. Seeing that it is outside and you cant stop dust and debris from the trees falling in, a longer dusting pan and brush and a small cleaning net would really help.
