I was very lucky to be upgraded to a waterfront room, the views were absolutely stunning and being on the ground floor I had a balcony. The bed was amazing. The kitchette very cleverly placed within a large cupboard so it can be shut away. The bathroom beautifully appointed with a great shower and plenty of towels. Supplied a little bottle of milk with plenty of supplies. Location handy to town and anywhere in Tauranga really.

The only moan, and it is very tiny, no instant coffee satchets supplied, plunger coffee or pod coffee. And after being serviced after the first night the dishcloth and tea towel disappeared and not replaced. Not major, just a little frustrating.

I didn't have breakfast as wasn't required and was a late booking of my suite. I liked the friendly and helpful reception attendant. The price was reasonable for what quality of the room you received in comparison to others in the area. I also adored the little extra thoughtful features like the natural products sold at reception that you could try before buying, and brought some to take home. They were so good! My suite had the most comfortable and professional set up, it was so inviting. Can't say enough about how happy I was with the overall experience. Treated myself while over for my sons 21st birthday. I shall be back and shared with family and friends in social media.

I liked everything, and will be back again next time I'm staying in Tauranga.

What a wonderful end to our trip. This must be the best Motel in New Zealand. Excellent reception staff, good parking, lovely room with what must be the best views in the world across Tauranga harbour. Come rain (which it did) or shine (which it also did) we enjoyed being in our lovely unit on the first floor......oceans of space, fabulous views. Beautifully clean. excellent cooking facilities and a comfortable bed. We didn't want to leave.

It had no guest facilities at all. The logging railway had about 3 trains a day running past in the distance but the view made up for that and it was a point of interest. Bit of a climb to the first floor but the room made up for that.

Modern motel with clean and comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. Though on the edge of the central area of town, it's a relatively easy stroll to the waterfront for a selection of bars and restaurants.

We weren't self catering on this trip. Otherwise the minimal facilities might have been limiting (toaster, kettle and microwave). Next to our room was a toilet for use of a function room, used by large groups. The fan in the toilet was on constantly and was annoying as the noise could be heard in our room.After the (evening) function was over and we worked out what the cause of the noise was we could step outside and turn the light off, which deactivated the fan. Unfortunately the large group had an early start and a very noisy breakfast and departure next morning.

Booked the Waterfront Premium Suite Spa & Patio. Beautiful view of the harbour. Relaxing, peaceful area. Has everything you need (except an oven) but restaurants and cafes are only metres away. The Patio has a setting for two to absorb the stunning view of the morning sunrise and evening sunset. There’s a pathway/stairs to the water out front of the suites. Friendly welcoming staff. Would stay here again. Thank you.

No biggie but….Would be handy to have a broom (to sweep little crumbs etc) or an external bin for extra rubbish from Uber Eats as we like to keep tidy. The room bins are small but appreciated.

I rebooked here at The Tauranga on The Waterfront as I was confident the services would be the same if not better. Bed was super comfy, room was above cleanliness and amenities were great. We were here for a bit longer than the first stay, with a busy schedule, the facilities remained the same standard throughout. Staff are more than willing to help and accommodate your queries. We have traveled a wee bit and the same standards have not been met anywhere else. Fabulous mention to House Management Staff who keep up with us weary travelers :) and Front of House staff who are more than willing to help make your experience a great one. Location is perfect, heart of the city a skip away and a short drive to The Mount. We hope to be back sometime soon. Thank you!

Room is small but perfectly adequate. Great to have a double and a single slightly separated which suited me and my teen. LOVED the view! Amazing night view of the moon over the water - but was equally as pleased with the morning view with the sunrise. Took a stroll down the stairs to the small wharf and got stunning photo's. Location was awesome too.

Only thing I didnt like was the position of the single bed in the studio - quite close to the bathroom/toilet which was a glass door - and wasnt a sealed door - so there was an opening above the door.

Location was fantastic and the view over the estuary was lovely even in the cloudy weather.

More teabags and hot chocolates would have been nice that would allow us to have more than 1 hot drink a day. (There were 2 tea bags for the 2 adults and 2 hot choc sachets for the 2 children added to the room each day)

The inside has been updated, the views were gorgeous. The room was a really good size, could easily take a family of 4. The staff were the best i have dealt with, couldn't do enough to help or guide us to ensure we had a nice time. I would definitely stay here again. Super clean

The only thing i could pick is it looks a little older on the outside (still in great condition) but inside has clearly been upgraded recently, was very impressed with the place.

The room was amazing, very clean and spacious. The bedding was perfect, and I didn't want to leave. I also loved the spa it was amazing. The view was spectacular, we were staying in room number 6. I also want to compliment the young staff, from the time we arrived to servicing our room, you done a fantastic job.

I will say there was a musty smell in the room, however once we opened up the doors it dissappeared.
