Quiet, peace, remote cottage with a grand farm view from both balcony and bedroom. Only 5-10 mins drive to Rivendell and Hartcourt Park makes it a huge bonus for LOTR fans. The kitchen cooker hood is very useful when we cooked at night and did not want to open windows letting bugs in. We bought carrots to feed the horses and ponies and they all loved it. However the biggest one was too oppressive that it kept kicking others away.

The washing machine is a bit out of date and needs some cleanliness. The fridge makes noise from time to time (at first we thought it was horse's snore lol).

The whole process was very easy...lovely place with a beautiful morning view of the misty mountains.... My privacy was respected from start to finish..much appreciated the milk and cookies..... I enjoyed the view of two ponies and little rabbits running freely in the paddock......

I wasn't there longer..... The quiet....the surroundings were magnificent....when you live in the city area...it's such a blessing to be in a nice lovely getaway.....

This place could NOT have been more adorable. From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we’d made a great choice. And we were SO bummed to only be able to stay one night— we would’ve happily stayed far longer. Here’s what we especially liked: 1) Very cute decor inside. Not just thrown together: it’s clear that real thought went into making it attractive and welcoming. 2) Spotlessly clean throughout. 3) Heat lamp in the bathroom, so you’re warm when you exit the shower. 4) Great shower! 5) Excellent kitchen— full size everything. 6) Some provisions on hand for you to use, including milk, coffee, sugar, etc. 7) There’s a beautiful little private back porch that looks down over a forested hillside. There are also horses and chickens in the yard— very cute. 8) The place is completely self-contained. You have your own private house to yourself. 9) Belinda, the owner, is great. She messaged me the day before my arrival to give me explicit instructions on how to find the place and where my key would be. I didn’t have to see anyone to check in and out. All in all, we LOVED this place. 10/10. Would stay again!

Been travelling for work through-out NZ for the past few decades and have always stayed at the stock standard corporate style hotels / motels. Couldn't this time round as my usual was booked out so decided to try something different - hence my booking with Incline Cottage. Awesome spot and great cottage with everything i needed. So nice waking up to the sound of the sheep and horses in the paddock out front rather than noisy neighbours. My go to when next in Wellington for sure

The location is perfect for getting away from city life! Loved the views of the country hills and absolutely loved the Ponies Horses and Chickens. Loved the fireplace it was fantastic! Overall we loved our stay we are coming back! 😁

No TV in the lounge but with the amazing views you don't miss it! I was unprepared for the muddy grounds so next time we will be bringing our gumboots!

Great little cottage located at the rear of the main residence. It is very well equipped, including a full laundry. Perfectly located on the rail trail. Would recommend and will stay again.

The location was awesome, only a 7 minute drive to the speedway. Amazing views from the balcony. The house owners helped us out and we’re very nice.

The driveway was a bit scary especially at night. Quite hard to turn around as it’s very tight even with a small car.

Well appointed with everything you could possibly need, clean and warm, great little fire...and really appreciated the little extra touches (never stayed anywhere that provided a wee bowl of timtams chilling in the fridge). Rural view was lovely and location was great for Remutaka Incline and other nice spots. Kaitoke Waterworks/Rivendell was a real find!

Because I'm a bit of a TV addict I would have liked to have had one in the living area, not the bedroom. Thankfully with a bit of gentle giggarypokery we managed to move things around a bit so we could view from the lounge. Otherwise everything was just perfect. Also, the access is a little tricky for a big vehicle, especially given there isn't really any room to turn around so you have to navigate past the house and sleepout backwards on the way out. Nothing a clever hubby can't deal with though.

Breakfast provisions were good. Location on a farm was fine. Very close to Remutaka Rail Trail, so very convenient location to explore the rail trail. Farm animals in paddocks were a bonus, very relaxing to watch them.

We should have stayed longer!

A beautiful quiet spot, Incline Cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break away. Only 40 minutes to the Wellington CBD, it is far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city, while being close enough to easily come and go from the location.
