We’re glad we found the Anker Apartments for our two nights in Oslo. It was quite a good value. We were greeted by friendly staff. We picked up bed linens and towels when we checked in. We also requested a kitchenette set which has dishes, cups and silverware. The rooms look like furnished student housing. We had a suite with two twin beds, two bunk beds, a couch, table and chairs, and a kitchenette along with a bathroom. All doors require a key card to open and the elevator is helpful with luggage. Our beds were comfortable and while we were there it was pretty quiet. Our only complaint is that our room was stuffy. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the windows only crack open a little at the top. It was quite warm during the day and there was no air circulation. We would have happily paid to rent electric fans if they were available. There is a Joker grocery store adjacent to the apartments with food, snacks, drinks, and some good inexpensive coffee. There is a larger Spar grocery store just a couple of blocks away. We loved the view of Oslo from the rooftop deck. Tip on location. We flew in from the US the night before and we’re quite tired so we took a taxi from Oslo Sentra. It was slow and expensive. However it’s only about a 30 minute walk from the central station or you can take the tram from there. You can download the RuterBillett app, buy tickets on the tram or stop in the Ruter customer service office at the central station where they will sell you tickets and help you find the right tram.
Fans! It was too warm.

The room was bigger than the one shown in photos. It was a nice room with big window and lots of lights. You can borrow extra items from the reception like hairdryer and kitchen items. The room has a small fridge and stove in the kitchen.
The building is actually for student housing and certain rooms are for the Anker hotel. On the weekend the students were having a party and the noise in the corridors was too much. Luckily after 11PM there wasn't any more disturbance.

The room was really clean and everything was simple. Beds were comfortable sheets were clean.
You have to get everything (kitchen eqpment, hair dryer, kettle...) from reception and the stuff you get was dirty. Also the bunk bed was not fixed to the wall so whenever someone turns in it, it felt like an earthquake to other.

The apartment is big and comfortable for 4 people. Sheets and towels are provided. There is a supermarket at the reception, which makes it very good for a quick shop for breakfast or dinner. Located next to a public bike station!
No electric plugs near the top beds. You have to leave your phone away

The Anker Apartments exceeded my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that it was so clean, quiet and comfortable after reading some less than positive reviews. Maybe the shared hostel rooms with multiple beds are not as nice, but my "budget double room" was perfectly acceptable. It was no frills (other than the heated bathroom floor 👍) so no maid or room service, mini bar or anything like that, but a fully equipped kitchenette (glad I brought my moka pot to make coffee), clean sheets and towels, excellent shower, good climate control, and a grocery store downstairs. And as I said VERY clean and quiet, and painted a restful shade, not all white like the rather institutional hallways. Checkin and out was very easy, and the two staff I spoke to were very kind and helpful. For the price of one night in a fancy hotel in the center I had five nights of rest and a space to get some work done or have a light meal when not out exploring the city or attending my conference. Also, the Grünerløkka neighborhood is very nice, sort of hipster with many cafes, parks, shops and bars, and public transportation from the hostel to any point in the city was easy to navigate. As I said, all expectations were exceeded!
A chocolate mint on the table? Maybe a little side table by the bed for water and a phone.

Check in was easy with the machines, our standard room was large, comfortable for two people for two days, and came equipt with kitchen supplies. The room was very quiet and we saw few other guests. It is a budget hotel so we got what we expected, we stayed here about 8 years ago and were surprised to find the entire lobby had been nicely renovated and there is a large and convenient Kiwi now (I believe it used to be a Joker). We travelled for work but love the neighbourhood and the hotel is nicely situated close to where there are beautiful parks, nice bars, and fun second hand shopping.
We had to make two bookings because of room availability when we decided to extend our stay and went with the 'budget' private double for our last two days. If you can I would recommend staying with the 'standard' room even if you're on a budget. Not having utensils in the kitchen as with our initial booking was frustrating and having our bed be two twins pushed together was frustrating as we kept falling through the middle.

Really cosy. Felt blessed to be there. Little kitcnette was good, we could have a hot breakfast. No toaster, but pans, plates provided. There is a fridge. It was handy having a Kiwi supermarket just next door for supplies. A peaceful stay - would like to come back again to stay longer and explore Oslo. This time it was a roadtrip to Aurlandsfjord, so only an overnight stay in Anker Apartments. Oh yes, there is a carpark in the basement which is handy. Not free though 🙃
Garage door was meant to open automatically...had to go to reception three times, and receptionist used her card to open.

I liked using the machine to pick up the keys as we arrived at 1am, though it was a bit misleading that they called it a 24 hour recption. The room was clean and good value, it had everything we needed and in a cool neighbourhood not far from the centre.
The fact it said you couldn't use the machine to pick up the keys after 2:30 and the listing on booking.com had said that it was a 24 hour reception. We arrived in time but I had just read the 24 hour thing on the airport bus. The whole place did have a kind of weird sterile vibe like it was a converted hospital but it was fine.

The room was very comfortable and clean. The location was great, very calm but also central, it was easy to walk around and take public transportation. The room temperature was great; not too warm, not too cold. I was a bit afraid to go to Oslo in the middle of January but we never felt cold inside. Especially the private bathroom was amazing with the floor heating, it felt almost like a sauna. Just nearby, there is a supermarket so you don't even need to walk for basic needs. The stuff's communication was great as well. They let us leave our bags there after the check-out until our flight time, which made things very easier for us. Overall, it was a perfect stay for couple of nights. If you're looking for a minimalistic, clean and comfortable room to stay safely; I'd definitely recommend it and would stay here again in the future.
Nothing. Everything was great.

I liked that when I arrived after the reception hours, and tried to self check in, then the machine didnt give me the room keycards, and the staff was really quick to help with this situation and they sent the security guy to let me and another group of people into our Rooms. 5+ to the security guy Also, unfortunately I didnt remember his name. In the morning I got the room keycards very quickly from the reception.
Related to the same situation, just the solution wasnt the best that was given, it was either that I need to go the other Anker Hotel, which was not so close, or either I cant leave the room until 10 in the morning, since it was super Late anyways, I didnt care much and went to sleep anyways, but there should be some better solution when something like this happens because who wants to travel at night so much back and forth.
