For a modern hotel it needs USB charging points, also need to provide a waste bin other than in the bathroom, and English Breakfast tea bags.

The breakfast was great! Sumptuous—with such a wide variety of offerings. Only wish they had left a carafe of coffee to serve myself more when i wanted as the teacups are pretty small if you are used to having a full cup of coffee, and servers are pretty busy with other things!

I found getting around (way finding) in the hotel was a bit difficult—especially in the sauna and swimming pool area. I realize that you do not want to ruin the ambience and beauty of the interiors with lots of signs but something tasteful and small might alleviate some of the problems. I noticed a number of other customers also found the elevator operation challenging, that it was not controlled from the inside of the elevator....took a bit of getting used to.

The decor is really beautiful, both the room and all the common areas. The swimming pool, sauna and gym area are state of the art. Everything is new. Breakfast buffet is well-rounded and there is enough for every taste. Customer service in the reception desk and in the restaurant was very professional.

There is no concierge and the people working at the reception area could not answer simple questions about the city, transportation or entertainment. They need a concierge. The information in the web site is confusing and doesn't do justice to the place. The swimming pool and sauna close too early - not good if you'd like to use them after a day at work or sightseeing.

Very cool, new hotel with designer details in the rooms and huge array of restaurants, music and jazz in the main ball room, which is also where breakfast is and that was amazing. Although on a Sunday morning it can be very busy. Bed and room was comfy not too big and the room was inner courtyard so quiet but also no view. Location is not bad, its close to the train stations and theatre, palace and a quick walk into main part of town. Worth it for the hotel.

Room service finished early and not a lot of options considering all the restaurants on site. Hard for those arriving late at night or on all day tours.

This is an excellent hotel. Thoroughly recommend. The breakfasts are wonderful. The staff are wonderful. The location is good.

The only negative was the air conditioning. This is a recently built/renovated hotel with a modern HVAC system, but the hotel do not allow the customer to fully control the air conditioning themselves. The control in the room has an option to increase the temperature by +0.5 - 3 degrees or reduce by =0.5 to 3 degrees. It does not display the current temperature or allow a temperature to be set directly or the fan speed controlled directly. We used the control and it made no noticeable difference. The room was very hot. Reception can remotely adjust it, but in this day and age I would expect to allow the customer to choose without having to call reception each time.

I have to be honest, after reading some recent reviews I got a little scared that booking here might not have been a good choice. But we were proven wrong about those reviews from the very start. At the entrance we were met by a smiling employee who gladly showed us the way to the reception. Check-in had 2 people in front of us so they immediately opened another desk. We weren't pushed about any extra's at all, we got the information and the invitation to come back to the reception at any time. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and the bed was really nice. Breakfast was REALLY good. If anything, get the beetroot hummus on sourdough toast. Best thing I ever tasted. Would 100% recommend to stay here!

The location is impeccable ! Very safe neighborhood

The cleaning during my stay wasn’t properly done, the cleaning team left the used towels there. I accumulated up to 8 large towels at some point. The cleaning team didn't help to tidy the room. The AC wasn’t working properly but globally it’s okay. There wasn’t anyone guiding me or explaining to me where to have breakfast, where is the swimming pool or how to get to my room. I was left with just the keys and had to figure everything out by myself.

I'll sum up our experience like this -- we didn't want to leave! The hotel has been beautifully curated with even the finest details applied. Truely an experience, with everything you could ever need on site -- incredible rooftop pool and sauna, multiple restaurants on-site, a cafe in the lobby for a coffee or sweet fix, whenever you need. I cannot wait to return to Oslo, simply to stay at Sommerro. Do yourself a favour and enjoy a weekend at this art deco paradise!

Room upgrade was great - spacious junior suite which was excellent value for money. Quick, efficient check-in with nice, helpful staff across all venues. Good selection of restaurants and bars. Very good breakfast selection.

Main breakfast restaurant is very dark which isn't ideal first thing in the morning. No water in room but have to walk to refill at station. Hallways are a little industrial given the building's origins.

This is a wonderful place. The attention to detail on the restoration is superb - it’s like being in the Great Gatsby. Staff super helpful. Best of all was the buzziness of the bars and restaurants. This is clearly THE destination in Oslo. By the way the airport train is cheap and quick, and one of the stops is 2 minutes from the hotel.

Nothing really. Any issues we had with the trip were at the Heathrow end of things.
