Room was quiet, food buffet was good, all staff spoke English, Indoor pool, sauna and steam room were good.

Indoor pool crowed at times, outdoor pool cold. When waiting to buy a water at the pool bar, someone on staff showed a lack of courtesy and customer service. I stood there several minutes without being acknowledged. I understood that is was a busy lunch period, but he could have said something like I will be with you a little while, but he ignored me and I had to interrupt him to ask for the water. He seemed annoyed but he got me the water. I was willing to wait but I felt invisible. Although he was very busy it would not have cost him any time to simply acknowledge me. Basic courtesy and customer service dictates to acknowledge the customer standing directly in front of you and ask them to wait.

both indoor and outdoor pool were great, the breakfast was amazing, very complete with a lot of choices or food, I'm really happy with how peaceful it was in the room, you can't hear a thing outside and the staff are mostly nice! Would love to come back for spa sessions! The best staff member was Andreia, at the sports/indoor pool zone. She was lovely and super patient to explain everything and answer all sorts of questions about the acitvities at the hotel. The room was big enough for 2, very clean, bathrooms also great! Hotel is really close to city centre, it's a nice walk there to lots of great restaurants.

staff at the outside bar were not nice or welcoming, music provided by a free spotify account so it stopped all the time for ads. toiletries available not the best, in my opinion, definitely worth bringing your own.

The location of the hotel is perfect, just outside the city walls of Evora so everything is in very easy walking distance but also you have the convenience of parking on site. The three swimming pools were excellent (we didn't try the indoor pool because the weather was so warm). The rooms were spacious and the shower excellent. Very comfortable, large, firm beds. The breakfast options were generous, extensive and tasty. The staff were very helpful. Overall a great place to stop for a few days exploring the beautiful city of Evora.

We had a bit of a problem with the air conditioning in our room although it worked perfectly in our daughter's room. They did take a look at it as soon as we notified them of the problem but for a couple of non-heat-loving Brits, it was a bit too warm for us overnight. But of course, any equipment can develop a fault at any point and the hotel were very reactive when we raised the issue.

Our superior king room was very comfortable, included free underground Parking, towel robes slippers, coffee machine and mini bar. Nice view of the gardens and outdoor pool from the window. Quiet. The pool and gardens were very relaxing and refreshing swim after hot day sightseeing

Very modern hotel, with open plan reception/dining / small bar area. More bar staff needed for later in the evening to serve drinks to guests returning to the hotel. The dining area is a bit open and noisy, more like a cafeteria. Fine for v good breakfast

Our first experience of a Vila Gale hotel and we have now realised they style themselves as resort hotels, which is a bit of a double edged sword as it has lovely swimming pools (why we chose it) but Portuguese people go there for a resort holiday so the restaurant is full of people dressed for the pool and there were rather more children than we anticipated considering it was term time. It’s also large enough to take tour groups, but the restaurant seemed to cope admirably. Anyway, it is just outside Evora’s walls and it is really easy to walk from there to all Evora’s sights. We had a superior room which included underground car parking – otherwise it’s 7 Euros which is probably why it was nearly empty as there is free parking on the areas around. However in hot weather it’s good to use. The rooms were large and comfortable with good AC, safe and mini bar. Breakfast was very good, a good selection, and I was brought a fresh decaf coffee as there was none in the machines. The staff were all very friendly. We only used the outdoor pool which is unheated so was a bit bracing but there is an indoor pool too.

There is a coffee machine but no kettle. The rooms were not very well soundproofed and we had people next door with 2 toddlers who were very noisy and we could hear them crying in the night. We thought it odd that our room was still being made up when we got back to the hotel at 17.00.

The family rooms are in the ground level of the hotel so you can access the pools from the terrace. The pools are great, they even have slides! The lady on the reception was amazing and helpful with all the tips we needed for the sightseeing and wineries. It really made our stay better, just seeing her smile and caring! 🙏

The beds for kids are very uncomfortable and basic (sofas), the eggs at breakfast were not good (preproduction), the pool is not heated, but our kids did not care ;).

The hotel facilities were genuinely nice and modern. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were exceptionally good and helpful.

We were given a choice of breakfast times and we chose the last available time, but I am afraid all we got was the remaining food from the previous times. The hot food containers needed to be topped up, and the request for fried eggs or pancakes was too slow and made a large queue. But apart from that, it was OK.

Location was excellent. Breakfast buffet good selection, staff very efficient at replenishing items and removing dirty plates. Staff very friendly.

We arrived at 7pm, and were informed we had to make a reservation for all meals. This was never stated in the information when we booked. We were tired and hungry and couldn't get a timely reservation, so we went elsewhere. The local map handed out at reception, needs to be changed. Due to the colours used it is very difficult to read. There is an excellent map on the wall leading to the Spa - suggest this is photocopied and used - streets need to be in black lettering so easily identified. Our room had a small patio, which was a bonus, however, very close to the pool and it was not comfortable sitting out with pool lounges 10ft away and people looking at you. Suggest another row of bushes be planted for mor privacy.

The breakfast was superb, lots of choice and everything very well presented. The swimming pools were so welcoming after some hours of sight-seeing.

Our last meal we decided to have it in the hotel and that did not go well at all. We were brought the main course without the starter first and we are convinced they just kept the food warm and gave it to us later. My wife could not eat the pork and potatoes as it had gone dry and hard. Obviously we were not charged for his main course but it really did spoil the evening as everything took so long we didn't want to order another meal for my wife.

More vegetables and innovative proteins. Its dull that every hotel has only eggs and bacon and sausages and white beans in tomato sauce. There are other options that can be utilized in order to stand out from the average mass.

The building was a bit soulless within an extraordinary city with long history and beautiful archtecture.
