Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is well located: walking distance from the beach and a busy area with lots of dining options, and a quick bus ride to the city centre. Not too noisy. Great breakfast. Everything was clean and functional. The facilities were as shown on pictures.

Just FYI: the free shuttle to the city offered by the hotel only has 2 departures in the morning. The indoor pool, 1 of the restaurants and the sauna facility aren't opened year round/weren't open to the public when I was there (beginning of November)... though you could ask for the indoor pool or sauna facility to be used exceptionally.

Only stayed one night due to a cancelled flight, unfortunately missed the breakfast. Beautiful sea view, nice facilities and helpful staff. The whole experience felt quite luxurious to me. Private entry to sauna and turkish bath was included in my booking via Booking, which was a nice surprise.

A bit far from the city centre, but multiple buses leave from the bus stops that are not too far away. The hotel even has it's own shuttle to the centre, but didnt try this out.

Lovely hotel, excellent entertainment and facilities. The hotel is approximately 1/2 hour from Funchal city centre, possibly longer on the way back as up hill! We were very well looked after and enjoyed our stay immensely.

It can be busy at breakfast but food is replenished constantly . Try an earlier sitting ,rather than the popular 9.00am!

- Friendly and helpful staff; - Delicious breakfast, big variety of choices; - Spotless; - The sauna room surprised us. After booking it you get it to yourself and nobody else can enter it; - Beautiful decorations that are changed almost every day;

A bit funny when you need to pay the following extras in the 4 star hotel: - 1€ to change the pool towel. - 10€ to play pool. - 10€/day private parking (use the one on the street, way cheaper). The sauna room needs to be booked which is not mentioned in the description. The inside pool was a bit chilly.

The hotel is modern. The room is spacious and clean. We had a room with a balcony that gave us a bit of the sea view. The breakfast quality and quantity were also excellent. The staff at the breakfast were very friendly and helpful.

Most staff were friendly. One lady with long hair at the reception always looked stressed out and cranky She seemed to be selective in whom she wanted to smile to. The hotel staff told us the Turkish bath and sauna were included. When we went to the indoor pool, we then found out we had to book in advance. It was not convenient \. In all other countries we travelled to, we never needed to book ahead to use the sauna or the steam room. The free shuttle to the town was a bonus. But the drop off point was by the cruise ships. It was still a distance to walk to the main part of the town eg the well known fish market.

Party of 3 adults, staying in one room. The roll-away bed for the 3rd adult was comfortable. The staff was as polite as can be--communication in English was not a problem. The view is amazing and the location convenient. The breakfast was great--selection of meats/cheeses, bread, croissants, yogurt, cereals and fruit. There was also a bar with hot food-eggs, bacon, and pancakes. The front desk, housekeeping, and dining room staff were all very responsive.

We were on floor 2, above the lobby bar. In the evening, the sound from the band made it up to our room (I could do without the thumping base). Also, when we opened our patio door for ventilation, we got cigarette smoke wafted in from people smoking outside the hotel lobby. I would recommend a higher floor. The a/c didn't do a good job of cooling the room--not sure if this is a seasonal issue (we stayed in January), but the room was warmer than we liked for sleeping.

After 10pm it was quite quiet, thought until then at the lower floors you might still hear the live band before then. The beds were comfy and clean, the room was spatious and the breakfast is what you'd expect from a buffet at this type of hotel.

Parking is not included in the stay and there's a 10€ per day surcharge. Luckily, just a street or two above the hotel you'll find parking that's free. Two more minor nitpicks: the bathroom sink faucet is too short for refilling water bottlers or even for washing hands and the bathroom tiling seemed to be already showing some wear and tear.

Room was spacious, balcony was lovely, air conditioning was effective, daily treats left by the wonderful housekeeping team was a lovely touch, the spa area was beautiful, breakfast buffet was very good quality with a fantastic selection. Location was ok however a significant walk into the main centre, the hotel do offer a shuttle otherwise there are buses and taxis.

Staff at the main reception were not very responsive, unfortunately on a number of occasions we were left standing at the desk for extended periods of time just being informed. Staff would walk by and literally ignore you. This is a big hotel, there are only two very small lifts for the whole hotel to use and most days on multiple occasions we had to wait sometimes up to ten minutes for a lift to arrive, that certainly needs addressing as there were often big lines in the lobby just waiting for a lift.

Location, spa and pool were great. Room good size with balcony. Breakfast had a big selection of hot and cold food. Nice places to eat and drink within immediate area.

Breakfast in morning very chaotic and busy! Pillows were awful and didnt get much sleep. Buffet in eves we tried once was very average and not worth the price. Much better places to eat outside hotel.

The best hotel I have ever been to. Big room, very confortable bed, awesome bathroom, big balcony. The breakfast was amazing, very diverse and very tasty. Access to spa, swimming pool, live shows every evenings. Last day I felt sick and they let us do a late checkout up till 15:30 instead of 12, very kind of them.

The tv was not functional, you had to pay for movies and shows, same for the parking, 10 dollars a day
