Basically a hidden gem in front of your eyes. I lived in SG for 10+ yrs, and passed by Outram Park MRT on daily basis for work but never evaluated Dorsett back then. While visiting for work for leisure now I decided to give it a shot. I was not wrong. Its location is sublime. You reach everywhere fast as the hotel is literally above 3 MRT lines. I could be in CBD within minutes, likewise Vivo, Sentosa, Orchard was convenient to reach, even airport. Believe you me, if you have not much time in Singapore and lots to do, the location is everything. Dorsett has it.

Can't remember anything i did not like...

Since I need to be close to Singapore General Hospital, Dorsett is the nearest and the best. It's a walking distance, and there's a covered pathway from the hotel to the hospital, so even if it's raining, you can walk even without an umbrella. It has a direct access to the subway station, which makes going around the city very easy. It's also very near China town where there are cafes and restaurants, from different cultures, everywhere. One of their unique services is the complimentary walking food tour every Sunday that is available exclusively to their guest. Room, staff, and cleanliness are acceptable.

No room service. There's only one restaurant (Japanese) operated by a third party.

Hotel decor, rooms are showing its age and needs refurb plus cleaning/repainting exterior outside pool area. Shower door design needs to be rethought - with the bathroom door closed, there is little room for the shower door to open. Housekeeping attention to detail: only one bath and pool towel changed for clearly two guests? Glasses and cups not cleaned/changed each day.

The location is really convenient and the toilet was well designed with the tub and easy wardrobe access from both in and out of the bathroom.

I left my laptop charger in the room and called the hotel less than and hr after checking out. The person said she will check on it but did not call back. When i called back an hour later, she said they searched everywhere in the room but it wasnt there. I knew it had to be there on the table and went back down to the hotel to ask the front desk. They told me to sit and gave it to me after a short wait. My mistake was not asking the name of the person who picked up the phone but thank you Roy (housekeeping) and Jermaine for returning my laptop charger.

The Dorsett is very well located in central Singapore, next to Outram Park MRT which offers access to three separate lines with easy access around Singapore. The hotel is very reasonably priced, rooms were spacious, very comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The staff were friendly and courteous, very happy to help.

The only this to point out to anyone considering a stay here is, there is no room service available because the restaurant on-site is not part of the hotel. That said, there are many options in the immediate vicinity and within east reach so this should not impact you too much.

Great location for China Town, Sentosa & Gardens by Bay. Even has its own lift at the MRT station! Rooms were very comfortable and decent pool. Nice neighbourhood with good eating options on doorstep

Pool closing at 8 was disappointing. Also a very minor niggle: leave 2 shower towels and 2 pool towels in each room, not just 1 of each. Neither of our rooms phones worked to call for more and we asked 3 times at reception without getting any. This is very easy to solve!

Big comfortable room and bathtub (Splash Room). The bed was great to sleep on. The hotel has a pool which was great with the heat. The location was excellent, with cool bars and cafes around Chinatown and right above Outram MRT.

The hotel and room decor was a bit dated, which is only my personal aesthetics opinion. The staff were all lovely and kind people, however they weren’t as forthcoming with information about the hotel as could have been expected. For example, there was no mention of the pool and gym or details about them, the restaurant & bar facilities or timings - nothing else about the basic facilities/ provisions of the hotel. Also, when I asked for a pharmacy close-by to the hotel, I was politely advised to look around Chinatown, instead of a more specific location given. This is not a criticism against the staff who were all good people, I just think that the training provided for them could perhaps be improved. Thank you for everything else.

Its proximity to to the Singapore General Hospital compound and Chinatown. We had an emergency hospitalisation while in Sg and have had to extend the stay by an extra day, and despite being fully booked, the staff was very helpful in ensuring that we got an extra day in our bedroom. The staff are super helpful and lovely and didn’t expect a tip for all the help they did to make our stay an excellent one.

It is very expensive when booked at the last minute. They don’t provide cuttleries, if in case you wanted to have a meal in the bedroom.

In terms of the room facilities all were very good. We did request a double bed on our initial booking and was given a room with two single beds. We requested a change and was given this straight away. The hotel is basically right on top of an MRT which made it very easy to get around Singapore.

As for the room size unfortunately it was small which made it uncomfortable. To get in and out of the shower and close the door you had to follow a sequence as the shower door could serve as a shower door and toilet door..

Excellent staff, nice clean room, all god

Many of the mosaic tiles in the bottom of the swimming pool and the area nearest the glass screen nearest the road were missing which made it look a bit tired! Many of them were piled up in the corner nearest the Hotel building, which was quite frankly not a good look. I suggest this area is smartened up soonest!
