JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La

A brilliant hotel in the heart of Singapore. Located only a 30 second walk from Orcahrd Boulevard MRT Station makes it an ideal location to explore the city. Good sized rooms for Singapore. The hotel manager, Hadiyah was absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond to help make our stay comfortable. Truly exceptional customer service.

Great location on the very new Thompson MRT line which is clean and uncrowded. Good size room with delightful banquette in the window. The room overlooked the pool and had a very open aspect. The property is connected to a good sized new mall with many good restaurants. The MRT has direct line down to Marina Bay so very simple.

Perhaps a slightly faster check in process though there is an automated non-human check in available too.

Rooms are modern and comfortable. Bathrooms are tight and privacy is a little compromised, but location and value for money are both excellent. The proximity to the variety of shops and restaurants in the adjacent Tanglin Mall is a real feature and the easy access to the MRT at Orchard Boulevard provides very good access to other parts of Singapore, on the Gardens by the Bay MRT line and the retail Centre of Orchard Road. Wouldn't hesitate to re-book.

Bathroom is strictly a one person bathroom which could be inconvenient for some.

Fantastic location. MRT is right in front of the hotel entrance and there's a small mall connected to the hotel with cafes, a few retail stores and a grocery store. Botanical Gardens is a 10min walk away, which made it a great location to have a jog while admiring nature. If you don't want to walk that far it's also 1 MRT stop away. The MRT line in front for JEN Tanglin is also leads directly to the Orchard shopping district, Marina Bay and Gardens by the bay, making it super easy for tourists to venture out. A short 5min walk from the hotel there's even a bus that can take you to the Orchard shopping area. This bus also stops near Fort Canning Park and takes you to the Changi Airport! Staff was also very friendly and the room was quite spacious and comfortable. Bed was also comfortable to sleep on, firm and not too soft. Didn't try the pool but it looked beautiful, 24hr gym was a little worn out but still very functional, and offered a phone charging station, equipment disinfectant, water and towels which was very handy

Breakfast at J65 could have been better. There were the usual options of common fruits, cereal, pastries and precooked boiled, scrambled and fried egg and a few international dishes. Considering it was a hotel buffet I would have liked more variety and traditional Singaporean dishes and fruits. Most of what was offered was basically what I could have found in my pantry/fridge at home so it just didn't seem worth the money as I could've gotten better food outside for a cheaper price.

Room and location is superb. It's not far from main Orchard and all the shopping malls, and also not far from Dempsey Hill which has lots of dining venues. Facilities is good. Staff is helpful, esp. Joy, duty manager, who help me solve issue during the checkout with such a professional manner.

F&B Staff at J65 Restaurant was such a shame. I was charged for dinner for two days ($58.85 each) but I was not at the hotel. I insisted on not paying this amount until Joy, duty manager, helped me solving this. Luckily, I had a proof to show that I wasn't there on both days. There should be more verification when guests dine at the outlets, otherwise I can just say any room number I want and have dinner for free? This is disappointing.

can’t go wrong, great location (10 min walk to orchard shopping precinct) one the best buffet breakfast spreads in Singapore…get club status it’s truly worth it…unlimited alcoholic drinks from 18:00 and good food selection( sushi, cheese,noodles, grilled mushrooms, chicken wings, curry fish was delicious)

Nothing really, however it’s just a pity the club rooms aren’t a little bigger

Breakfast was decent and varied. Very close to the train station and the line went to all the main attractions. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Swimming pool is great to cool down in the Singaporean heat

Dinner at J65 was expensive and the food was okay. Definitely better and cheaper food elsewhere.

The swimming pool was pretty nice. Overall the staff was friendly. The location was excellent with mrt and a small mall right next for the hotel.

A lot of guests during check in and it could take long in the queue. Lacking amenities in the bathroom. The gym was not well air conditioned.

Great location, super helpful to have the mall right next to it. Room was spacious, the staff were attentive and polite, I liked having the option to change the bed sheets to my preference, the filtered water in the room was very useful. I loved how close it was too public transport, also not far in a cab from nightlife. The laundry service was efficient. The greatest part was my room was ready early!

The room needs a closer eye on how clean it is after the room has been cleaned by staff. The bathroom didn't get as deep of a clean that's up to my standards, I had to bring to their attention that the bath wasn't being cleaned thoroughly and the fixtures were falling off, once I brought this up they had people come and correct it with in 30mins. But I shouldn't have these issues in a 4 star hotel. I did give the front desk instructions for a couple things and they didn't follow my instruction, I believe they thought it would make my life easier or my stay better, but I don't appreciate not being listened too on specific instructions.

I really liked this hotel. The decor was stylish and the rooms were really well put together. Good tv channels. Great amenities. The location was close to botanic gardens and there’s a mall next door with good cafes and convenience stores. It’s not near a MRT station but I got the hang of the buses and they got me everywhere I needed to go including the airport. The pool area is very nice and pool bar service great.

The reception and luggage staff were flat out with queues of people all day and night or so it seemed. So getting local advice was not easy.
