Staff were friendly, we had to call the night manager, as he was helping out on the bar (not an issue, good to be stuck in) didn't take long, showed us up to our room and it was stunning to be honest! Very much unexpected! For the price, wow! He also warned us that our room was very close to the pub part of the building, and it being NYE it would be a bit noisy. We didn't mind, we were there to go to a friend's for the celebrations, but appreciated the heads up. Bed was huge, unexpectedly soft, but that's not a bad thing. Bathroom was exceptional, huge and had everything. Even the fabled Bidet which no one uses. As I understand this place is under new management, and has had a hefty refurb so although in many ways it's unconventional,it's very much worth the money!

Nothing stands out as we didn't like, we had seen previous mixed reviews and were a little apprehensive.

The breakfasts were substantial and full of flavour. Easily the best hotel breakfast I've had this year. Great bacon and sausages. The room was spacious, with a large smart TV. The bathroon was very clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. There has been major renovations done during the last two years and I think I landed lucky booking just as they were coming to completion. I ended up with a very good deal, getting great value for money.

Understaffed, at present. I would expect as the hotel gets busier, the staff will increase.

A very friendly greeting from the young lady behind the bar, who was so helpful. The hotel has been closed for two years and is now under new ownership and obviously getting the hotel back into order but providing a better quality prior to closing. The standard overall is certainly value for money.

A lovely large room. One of the main radiators had been removed although the plumbing and fittings were still in place. The temperature did drop through the night so the room got on the "cool side" but no issue as the bedding was nice and warm.

Friendly staff, great quality food at a bargain price. This place has only recently re-opened so still getting into the swing of things.. if I'm honest, they could probably do with a good housekeeper and more staff but I'm sure this will happen. What really annoys me, particularly people on TripAdvisor is they book into places like this for a bargain price (we paid £62) and then slaughter it for not being 5 star. We wish the new owners all the best. 👍

Very little.

A curious place, almost deserted when I stayed. The Smart TV in the room was great, though it's one of those ones without an aerial, so you can only watch via Apps, hard to watch live and flip between channels (and the first one that comes on every time is GB News, which is deeply disturbing). But you've got iPlayer, Youtube, and Netflix if you want to sign in, which is great.

At first the reception area was fantastic, The staff was helpful. The room was nearly immaculate as for when i used the bathroom the floor hadn't been mopped as they had been a big mis-judgment around the toilet bowl that had been there for a day or two.

I would have liked a breakfast before i left But was informed they didn't have the staff.

We liked the size of the room, a lot bigger compared to many other hotel rooms ( a lot more expensive) we stayed before and the room was warm and cosy, very good shower. The staff were very friendly, especially Linesh, who kindly waited an extra hour after the reception closed (11.30pm) for us to check in. Thank you so much!

We thought the corridors could have been a bit cleaner.

The staff were helpful, and once we notified them of the noise from our neighbours, they offered a change of room. The new room was much quieter and comfortable.

We were in the middle of three interlocking rooms and our neighbours were very noisy until late into the night. Not suitable rooms if you are not part of a group booking.
