The staff were lovely, Linzi and her daughter looked after us so well. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The new restaurant is excellent, serving Tapa’s dishes. The hotel was dog friendly and they offered dog beds, and bowls. The location of the property is central to Burford.

The hotel doesn’t have parking although we found on road parking easily enough very close by. The restaurant menu would benefit from an English description of what the tapas dishes were but they staff were very helpful explaining it all to us.

Perfect location, on the Main Street. Room decor is beautiful, rooms are clean and well looked after. No drink making facilities in rooms but help yourself pantry more than made up for it- excellent choice of tea and coffee, fresh milk, oat milk, stocked fridge of san pellegrino and home made brownies which were unbelievably good! Dinner at the hotel restaurant was very good also. Check out time was 11am which was great. Hotel is beautiful, would highly recommend.

A little loud at night until around midnight but think that was due to a group of guests staying on that occasion.

From arrival the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.We were upgraded to a superior room, which was a great size and very warm and comfortable, with wonderful decor and dressing. We were celebrating a special occasion and were very generously given a drink at the bar prior to having a really tasty meal in the hotel Tapas restaurant. Breakfast the following morning lived up to expectations an the free tea/coffee pantry and brownies were a very enjoyable surprise. I would definitely recommend.

We were lucky and patience/perseverance meant we were able to park our car outside the hotel, however parking is severely limited in Burford in general, so don't expect to park near to hotel, at least immediately.

We’ve stayed here previously before it got renovated and always loved it, but since the renovation it’s even more impressive. It’s turned into a beautiful boutique hotel and we couldn’t have felt more welcome. We were pleasantly surprised to see we’d been upgraded and loved our room (Joy) so much we decided to add another night! The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order (lots of options to choose from), and the little pantry to help yourself to coffee, tea and freshly baked treats was a lovely touch. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the bathroom/shower was so nice. We slept like logs in the big comfy bed. The hotel is right in the middle of Burford where all the action is, but you genuinely cannot hear any noise in the room from the street. We had the best stay to celebrate our anniversary and cannot wait to go again!

We loved everything, no negatives to report! This is more of a ‘nice to have’ - an extra light would be handy in the room as it’s quite dark, like a dimmable table or floor lamp, and maybe a few extra hangers or hooks but honestly we had a fantastic stay at The Highway.

Loved everything about this property, location was superb. The rooms are excellent, cosy and comfortable. Staff are really nice. We ate at the Bull for our stay and the food was delicious. Only one downside and no fault to the hotel was trying to find parking. I know people have complained about not having kettles in their room to make tea/coffee but they have a pantry with literally everything provided even had freshly baked treats for you take. People just love to complain about the smallest of things. I would 100% recommend this place if you are staying in Burford.

Nothing at all

Lovely hotel in great location. The room was clean and comfortable and everything you needed was there. Massive shout out to Lyndsey at breatfast this morning a credit to the hotel she was very accomadating and made us feel welcome and well looked after a great member of staff that is good at her job keep up the good work !! Please visit the Lamb pub when you visit lovely old traditional pub with log and coal fires.

We was under the impression that full english breakfast was included in the £130.00 price but found out at breakfast that this was extra so an extra £22.00 brought the total stay to £150.00 expensive we found for one night out of season we travel alot and pay around £110-£120 full english breakfast included. Our fault we should of checked we learnt the expensive way.

Breakfast was excellent. The fruit platter was delicious and our cooked breakfast was delicious. The staff were very helpful and Lindsey who welcomed us was particularly helpful and always asking if we needed anything and if we had a good day. We enjoyed a meal at the Bull and enjoyed a glass of wine by the log fire.

The room was rather dark and not great for reading! We would have liked a TV in the bedroom and although there was a pantry for making tea/coffee it would have been more convenient in the bedroom.

All staff 100%. All professional, friendly and courteous, nothing too much trouble. Food superb and as good as you'd find anywhere. There are several other locations in the town for accommodation, drinks and food...however, it was interesting to note that this place was pretty full on each night whereas others weren't....not a bad sign!

Heating in lounge area in the mornings very cold....it is an old building and single glazing due to heritage, plus the fact it was circa zero degrees outside, doesn't make it easy to warm...

We had a very enjoyable stay at this excellent hotel. All of the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We had some very good conversation with them. The food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner. The room was also very good and full of character.

Booking com advertise this hotel as breakfast included. However the hotel only offers an inclusive continental breakfast, although a cooked breakfast is available at a charge. The staff though were very sympathetic when we pointed out that we thought we were getting a cooked breakfast as part of the room cost and they provided them all week free of charge.

The Highway Inn is well located on the High Street in Burford close to all the shops and whilst it does not have its own car park there were plenty of parking bays available outside and opposite. This was free parking overnight, although time limited during the day. All hotel staff were extremely friendly and especially kind to my dog - I felt he was very welcome in both the room and the restaurant area. I had a spacious and comfortable room on the top floor. Food in the restaurant was delicious both for dinner and breakfast.

Whilst my room was comfortable and spacious the ceiling height was restricted in several places so I had to remember to duck and the water pressure was a little low.
