We really enjoyed our 3 day stay in Cabanas del Lago. Very close to La Fortuna downtown, but also super close to nature. The cabin was right next to a beautiful pond with tropical plants. The big windows and the terrace allowed us to feel like we are in the middle of the jungle. But the best part was Marco, our super friendly and helpful host, who made us feel welcome in Costa Rica. Thank you again for everything!

It was perfect

The host is extra nice and made us feel welcome. The room is spacious and sparkling clean and the AC is really nice. Kitchen well equipped. We cook during our stay. The patio with pond directly in front is super nice especially with the many fish and ducks who comes to say hello. We love the place and would stay there again.

It a bit close to the road so you hear cars a bit but traffic is very low at night. Nature surrounding and sounds of frogs at night cover the bit of noise your could hear from road 😃. Overall, really great place!

The cabin was great, big with comfortable beds and a good kitchen area. In the evening, you could relax in the small terrace. The staff was very nice. The location is a big plus, very near a lot of interesting places.

Maybe the sound of the water that was always flowing outside and that the cabin was just next to a main road, so you hear everything, there is no soundproofing. Bring earplugs, that helps and you can have a wonderful sleep.

Hosts were very welcoming. A very nice experience to stay in a property like this surrounded by a lot of nature.

Bed and pillows not comfortable. You have to be ready for a lot of noises during the night since its in the forest (animal and insect noises, heavy rain on rooftop etc) but its also part of the experience as well. Around 45 mins/ 1 hour walk from the center.

The rooms are great and clean. Easy to check in, and also the staff is very nice! It's very relaxing to be surrounded by greenery! The room is beautiful and the bed is comfortable. There was a fridge and also a small useful kitchen. All very clean.

There is a mini space between the roof and the walls, and insects can enter inside. We used our own mosquito net to sleep and that was ok. And also if it rains, you hear the rain a lot because the roof is simple layer under a tree.

Very pretty location with lovely funky cabins on small ponds/lakes. Nice spacious cabin with comfortable places to sit. Marco was a wonderful host and helped us book tours etc. Air con in bedroom was a bonus as it was quite hot. Thank you!

A lamp in the sitting area and beside lamps in the bedrooms as it is a little dark and this would make it cosier and nice for reading.

I stayed in a cabin directly in the lake, it was beautiful, very comfortable and super accessible - you can park directly next to the cabana and there are no stairs. Staff was nice and helpful, but stayed away from your sight unless necessary - which I love. Cherry on top was the cats they have at the property! One of them slept with me ❤️

The cabin was lovely with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of cooking facilities and complementary tea and coffee provided. The hosts were amazing and the balcony over the pond was lovely with lots of fish and ducks.

Unfortunately the location of the property to the main road was a shame with very noisy traffic so not quiet the peace and tranquillity we hoped for.

The setting was beautiful with lots of wildlife in the water. The lodges are spotlessly clean with everything 6 could need otherwise Roy is a great host and always there should we need

You could hear road noise which was OK but some might not like this. The beds were also very hard

Gorgeous grounds and lovely cabin. Has all the basics you need. Close to town.

More towels and toilet paper. The sponge in the kitchen was gross. The shower was not warm.
