Very comfortable king-bed room room, excellent shower, so nice to have the view of the lovely grounds out my door. Appreciated having fridge and safe in room. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Location is convenient, close to main square, walkable to Sendero Bogarin. Would stay there again if I return to La Fortuna. (and yes the resident sloths were still present in early Dec 2023)

Would have liked a little more shelf or counter space in the bathroom-- though there is plenty in the room just outside the bathroom door. I found the room quiet at night. The third evening, though noise from TV in room next door was quite noticeable, so sound proofing might be an issue if you are unlucky with neighbours.

This is a reasonably-priced property that is in a fabulous location - easy walk into the heart of La Fortuna but set at the end of a private quiet street. Just a block from a favorite restaurant - Snappers and near several spas. Best feature is the kind, friendly, professional staff. We also loved the breakfast, which was included in the room price - included coffee/tea, fresh fruit, choice of three options for main entree. On the property, we viewed a sloth and several stunning birds. Short drive to Ecocentro Danaus - a conservation site with butterflies, birds, sloth tours we highly recommend - as well as about 20 min. drive to waterfall and Arenal hikes. It was cloudy so we didn't use the pools on premices, but we saw a few others enjoying them.

We had three people in the room (two beds) so it was a bit snug.

Room was very clean every day and had an excellent view of the volcano. Pool was a nice perk on a hot afternoon after a morning activity. The hotel is really well located for access to La Fortuna town and all of the restaurants and experiences. All of our activities picked us up from the hotel. The hotel are able to arrange tours for you too. The staff feed left over fruit from breakfast to the exotic birds so you can bird watch while enjoying your pancakes! A real perk was seeing the resident Iguanas and Sloths chilling in the trees around the hotel!

Breakfast could have been more varied but was plenty big enough and provided a good start to the day. The room is a little noisy once people start getting up at 6AM, but that seems to be the case in Costa Rica more generally.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Secreto La Fortuna! We were greeted by a warm welcome by the team, who were always available to help and were extremely friendly. Our room was spacious and modern. Each room has its own covered porch area with seats and a table. The best and our favourite part is the tropical garden, the volcano view and the pool area - OMG so beautiful and relaxing! The location is also excellent - you are right in the centre minutes away from all the bars and restaurants yet on a very quite lovely road

This beautiful property truly lives up to it’s name. Hidden down at the end of a street, just 2 blocks from downtown and La Fortuna Plaza. A real gem! Had 2 sloths living in the trees at the property, a two-toed sloth and a three-toed sloth. The rooms look out over a beautiful manicured garden of botanical plants. Our room was clean and fresh and the bed was very comfortable! Our Hotel concierge Elver was so kind and knowledgeable! He even gave us his version of a Night Tour and showed us Glass Frogs found on the property. He identified many birds for us on the property. We LOVED this place! It’s a Secret garden and Hotel. ❤️

I booked here because it was a simple, affordable hotel in a great location. However, once there I was blown away by the beautiful gardens, floor to ceiling volcano views, and great breakfasts (fresh juice, fresh fruit, coffee/tea/hot cocoa, pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, gallo pinto, plantains, etc). My kids liked the pools best. My favorite part was eating breakfast at the open air cafe and watching so many beautiful birds flit around their lush gardens. It's a gem! Room itself was simple and had everything we needed - hot water/good water pressure, shampoo/body wash/soap all provided, fast WIFI, etc. It was only 1.5 blocks away from cafes and shops. Great all around!

The staff were very friendly, always had time to chat and talk about the area, show animals they had spotted on the property. We saw the sloth that lives in the trees near the entrance, iguanas, frogs. The gardens at the hotel are an array of colours full of unusual plants and birds. The accomadation was very comfortable, large bed big bathroom. There was a place to sit outside at the end of the day to relax and remember the activities of the day and plan the day ahead. The pool was great when u returned after a day trip. Breakfast was included and it was a great start to the day. Selection of items available, fruit, eggs, pancakes with bacon. All was wonderful

It was a outstanding place to be in La Fortuna. 3min by walk to the center but very quite. The swimming pools were nice and clean. The view in the garden from our hotel room was a little pleasure with all the butterflies and birds. The best of all were the animals in the garden and trees on the hotel area. The nice hotel employee Elver showed us multiple times different animals which we would never see without him. We saw more animals in this hotel then in La Fortuna. :D A sloth, hummingbirds, a basilisc, iguanas, poisonous frogs, Tucans and a lot of other birds.

friendly and helpful staff. Lovely big room with two double beds, small veranda and view of pool, gardens and Arenal volcano. Breakfast was ok. Beautiful gardens with many birds and an iguana, lizards and a sloth in the trees outside the hotel door. Very good location, quiet but easy to walk to centre of La Fortuna Enjoyed the tours recommended by the hotel; We got a taxi to La Fortuna waterfall which is spectacular! Did a night walk; saw so many beautiful frogs and some snakes, then the next day trek up Arenal volcano and the hanging bridges. The hot springs in the river are very relaxing.

Great location, walking distance to town, restaurants, supermarket, fruit stands, gift shops and short driving distance to main attractions. The property has a beautiful garden full of hummingbirds and other birds and 2 swimming pools within the garden with volcano view. Beyond friendly staff and very good breakfast. Cozy feeling. If you’re looking for luxury, this is not your place, but if you’re looking for comfort yet good value, this is your place.

I wish it had a luggage stand(s) or table for it, NOT A BIG DEAL but traveling with kids for 20 days that would have been helpful for me.
