Although La Fortuna Lodge doesn't offer breakfasts on site, it does, however, contract with Hotel Arenal Xilopalo just around the corner, and the breakfasts there were exquisite--the atmosphere even more so. Plantains and papayas were put on bird feeders, which attracted a wide array of tropical birds, who would then eat their breakfast just a short distance from where the diners ate theirs. It was a spectacular experience every morning. The staff at La Fortuna Lodge were great. They helped us book tours, adjust travel plans based on weather conditions, and they offered suggestions for local restaurants that were a little less touristy, which can be hard to find in La Fortuna.

. We arrived after a long hot bus ride. The receptionist had a cold towel and glass of juice for us on arrival. In reception area there is an ice machine and a cold water tap. The room was spacious and very clean. The air-conditioning worked an absolute treat. the bathroom was extremely clean the shower was hot and decent pressure. I really liked the products in the shower too. TV in the room had netflix and YouTube worked well. . The location is set back only minutes from the main strip. Which was nice because it was a bit quieter.. The breakfast has a couple of options. All tasty enough to start the day. Eggs. Pancakes waffles rice beans. Fresh fruit . and is served in another hotel about 170m up the road. The area you eat is surrounded by birds and trees quite nice. There is a nice sitting area outside the rooms with a view of the volcano which would be ideal with a large group with multiple rooms or just a spot to sit read chill outside. After traveling through all of central America this room in this price point is one of the best we've stayed in. Highly recommended.

The smallest window in our room didn't yet have a blind or curtain. I did inform management and they took that on board. not a major issue

Free breakfast at Xilopalo - the open air restaurant is next to an open field. We saw so many birds, including Toucans. I suspect you see more birds at breakfast than on some of the paid bird watching tours.

A local bar plays loud dance music into the night - the top floor has the best volcano view, but has less sound protection as it is the tallest of the surrounding buildings. For the 4 weekday nights we were there, the thump thump thump music did not stop until 2 am. The lower floors are better protected by the nearby buildings so I suspect this is less of an issue or no issue.

The people that work there are just amazing. Very kind and helpful. They quickly answered all my questions both online (when I was planning my trip) and when I was already in the hotel.

It was a little bit noisy when someone would go up/downstairs because my room was on the ground floor and the door was pretty thin. The breakfast is actually in another hotel. The biggest advantage of it is a perfect view of volcano 🌋. The staff is very nice too. But the size of dish was not very big, I use to eat way more food before starting an active, full of adventures, day.

The hotel is within walking distance to the main strip in La Fortuna. This is definitely worth a lot in terms of convenience for eating and booking activities. The room was clean and adequate for our needs and great value for our dollars. Most of all we loved breakfast every morning in the place across the street with an open air restaurant on the 2nd floor and a great view of the volcano. The food was fabulous! It was also a great place to watch all the great variety of birds in the area. I also loved sipping my coffee on the 2nd floor open air patio in the hotel in the early morning. It was a great way to wake up in the morning.

I wish they would have luggage racks or suitcase holder tables so that it would have been easy to get in and out of your suitcase and not have to lay your suitcase on the floor. They had some shelves, but it really could only accommodate one suitcase.

I've stayed here for 2 nights. The room is very stylish, the hotel is located perfectly on a quiet street and still very close to the center of La Fortuna. I did a mistake with my initial booking, and the staff easily rescheduled my reservation without extra costs, thank you! +Parking is right in front of the hotel. +Breakfast is from 07.00 in Restaurant Acacia, you can choose from different options. We took Gallo Pinto which was delicious. You can see a lot of Birds and the Volcano Arenal!

The rooms are based in La Fortuna, very close to amenities and restaurants. The receptionists and the staff were excellent, friendly, polite, and efficient. Noylin was super helpful and assisted us with the choice of restaurants and daily excursions throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent, and you could watch and listen to birdlife at its best from the table. From the common area "Balcony" you can have a clear picture of the Arenal vulcano.

We found the air conditioning to be quite noisy and there wasn't a place to put our suitcases on. In the picture, it shows a balcony, which gives the impression to be private, but it is only part of a common area.

The room description makes it seem as though we had a volcano view from the room (picture posted is actually the communal terrace) which was not the case as our room was on the first floor and you couldn’t see with the fence. We brought this up and they offered for us to change rooms which was accommodating but think the ad needs to be updated for alerting other guests booking the same room

Hotel is on a quiet street but was close to restaurants and shops. This made walking around easy and had many options for dining. Breakfast options were nice but seeing the different types of birds and animals with breakfast made it more special. Reception was accommodating and informative. They have a board outside the reception area with their recommendations in the area as well as laundry service. I found this extremely helpful since I couldn't remember everything they said at check in.

Everything was great

Great hotel, very friendly staff (Andrey is the guy), nice location and nearby from downtown restaurants, pharmacies, etc. The room is great, with a large bed and bathroom, good shower as well. The staff received us with some towels and tea, very kind and gave us very good tips in the city. Breakfast is also great with 2-3 options (local food + international ones)

Evenv though breakfast is very good, there are only 2-3 options instead of a buffet or something like that. Not a big deal at all, but a minor suggestion.
