The location is excellent right in the middle of the village, large bar area which was friendly. Staff were excellent, always happy help. Food was good and reasonably priced, good selection of drinks. Breakfast was varied with a good choice. Room was comfortable, good size, bed comfy, decent linen and towels.
Room could have been cleaner especially the bathroom and our room wasn’t serviced during our stay (3 nights) needed more loo paper and hubby found some in an open cupboard on the landing while the cleaner was in another room, loo roll holder broken, did look like the bathroom had new tiles and shower fitted, which were nice but the rest of the bathroom was tired. Our room was near the kitchen so the fan was humming away from 8am-8pm, ok if you not in your room, but not ideal if you wanted a relaxing few hours reading etc.

Friendly staff. Generous and delicious full English breakfasts. We had a lovely bright corner room with 2 front view windows. Perfect central location.
The young lad asked us if we didn't mind paying upfront when we arrived. I checked my online Banking first and as there was no debit from Booking.com I proceeded to pay. Within the hour I noticed I had 2 pending payments. I mentioned it to the staff and we agreed one would probably drop off. It didn't and I am now in the process of claiming a refund through B.com as you cannot telephone and speak to a human at this Hotel. The carpet on the stairs to the rooms is well overdue a good hoovering. My husband said the mens toilets in the Bar had a very strong smell of stale urine.

Great location set right in the centre of Coniston . Room perfectly adequate for a couple of nights and cheap for what you get. Food downstairs was really nice, we had read some bad reviews but tbh we couldn't fault it, especially the breakfast which was great. Despite the odd annoying thing I'd stop there again, all part of it's charm, lol.
No parking, although you can find free parking just down the street if you know where to look. Room temperature seemed to be high during the night, and the shower ran out of hot water every so often, think it's maybe on a tank system. Staff were all nice but just a bit disorganised, we had no idea who was actually in charge, but luckily we didn't have any major problems

Breakfast: The room included breakfast. I had a full English that was a good size with great bacon and sausages. Also had plentiful filter coffee, fruit juice and cereal. Room: The bed was really comfy, nice ample pillows and really nice bed linen. The TV was a good size as were the cups for hots drinks in the room.
Breakfast: The tomatoes halves were that odd thing where they are warmed through but not cooked so a bit of a waste. Also the hash browns and black pudding were generic and bland. Room: there was a tower fan, but it lacked a bit of power. A reasonable pedestal fan would do a better job. Parking: there is no parking at the hotel. Times: I couldn't find anything to show what time food stopped being served in an evening. Also breakfast was a little late starting for me - 8.30am on a Sunday.

Nicely decorated, good standard, excellent bar, food and service. Staff so helpful and courteous, 2 different members of the team chatted to us about our holiday and gave excellent recommendations for places to visit both of which were amazing, Muncaster Castle and waterfalls at stock Ghyll Force Ambleside
No air con and it was especially hot weather the first 2 days of our stay making the room temperature very uncomfortable, we were provided with electric oscillating fans which helped. Couldn’t open the window very wide due to safely feature which didn’t help either

The location was perfect with it been set in the heart of Coniston village, we had fantastic views of surrounding fells including the Old Man. The room itself was spacious with comfy bed and good tea/ coffee making facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault the service. The bar downstairs had a great choice of different beers and lagers and other beverages as well as a decent menu for food (we didn’t try the food as had other reservations). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
The only negative I could state about the property was that the water pressure in the shower wasn’t brilliant, it more or less trickled, other than that we had no other issues.

The breakfast was lovely and set you up for the day. Dinner was good and varied and reasonable priced along with a variety of drinks. The location for us was great and not far from the Ruskin Museum to see Blue Bird. There was a variety of small shops with three other pubs close by. All in all a good stay. The staff were great always friendly and helpful and ready to take your order.
Nothing really apart from there was no window in the bathroom so it got a bit hot.

Arrival to the location very welcoming and friendly. Friends had an issue with their booking through booking.com but the manager helped them out with another hotel. Ate in the restaurant with friends, great night friendly staff, food was slightly overpriced but acceptable as good quality. Breakfast was great in the morning, checked out all good. Many thanks.
The lack of parking at the hotel and the cost of the room (apparently contacting the hotel direct for better price).
