This hotel is very well located in the old town very close to all the wonderful restaurants and just below the castle. Considering how central the hotel was there was very little noise after 23:00. This is an old style boutique hotel lovingly maintained and run by the owners. A welcome drink is available on arrival. The WIFI worked very well and breakfast was plentiful with very fresh produce and the option for freshly cooked eggs to your chosen style. Hot water for the showers was available all day and rooms were cleaned daily. The owners treated each guest as though they were family and went out of their way to offer help, advice or just chat.

My room had no air conditioning which made the room very hot in July. The shower, whilst fully functioning was a little dated. The coffee machine for breakfast is in Slovenian only which made choosing the right coffee difficult for most of the guests unless given instructions.

Amazing location. Cute boutique hotel. You can walk everywhere in the old town. I like that it is in a pedestrian area. Short 1 min walk from where the taxi drops you off. A ton of excellent restaurants can be found within mins of the hotel. Breakfast is simple but good. The staff are excellent and accommodating. I had to check out at 3am and arranged for my luggage to be brought down in advance so I wouldn't be making a bunch of noise when I left (no lifts, stairs only). The reason being as it is a small hotel, there's no staff on site after 10pm. They also provided me with a few box breakfasts to take with me when I had some day trips planned, although they said they could open early for me but I chose not to be in a rush and what I got was very good to take.

The only thing would be to have a blind in the room to block the window as there was only a sheer curtain. Only a minor thing.

Really nice hotel and staff. It has an old charm to it..The location is excellent as well for walking around town. Breakfast was good as well. I have nothing negative to say except what I noted below...

The only negative comment is that in very hot days/months (like during my stay), the AC is very weak in the (2nd) upper floor room/dormer with small window that I had. I understand that the building is old and updated AC is not able to be installed, but the room got very uncomfotable during the day. I did get a fan from the staff and I had the window open in the nite, and it was manageable, but then I had late night noise makers sometimes. So you have just have to understand when you are visiting and what room you will have.. Or perhaps they have bigger fans or standing type AC's available..

The location was incredible to see the city and easily find food and fun. There was a band that came at night right on the corner near the hotel, both nights I was there. The host that welcomed me suggested wonderful places to try out traditional Slovenian food and the welcome drink I chose was blueberry liquor - incredible way to start my Ljubljana visit.

I only had a backpack, but if you are coming from the train station, it is a hike- especially with the pedestrian streets. I now realize why a taxi was offered. Nothing for the property to do but possibly be clearer about the challenging walk for those who have rollerbags.

The Allegro hotel is ideally located for a visit to Ljubljana, being just on the edge of the old town. It is only a few minutes walk to the busy old town and some of the best restaurants we are at were very close to the hotel. We experienced no noise from outside at night with the window closed. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay and the continental style breakfast was good.

The room we booked was a “superior” double. The furniture and fittings were a bit tired and dated and both the fridge and air conditioning unit were a little noisy. The satin-trimmed bedspread was stained in places. We didn’t find the foam mattress particularly comfortable but that’s probably just down to personal preference.

Staff could not have been more helpful and spoke perfect English, which was just as well! (I also heard one speaking French.) Room was small but well equipped and since I was out most of the time it was absolutely fine. Nice big wardrobe. You would want more drawers if there for any longer. Breakfast was mostly good but the coffee machine did not have hot enough water to make a decent cup of tea.

Ideally the room would have had a kettle and tea/coffee. The AC struggled a little. I'm having to think quite hard to think of things that I didn't like!

Charming boutique hotel in the pedestrian centre of Ljubljana. Friendly and helpful staff, and we had a fun discussion about various countries' traditions in distilling with Thomas at reception. Close to everything and despite being in the pedestrian zone is both in a quiet area aside from the main drags, and within 50m of where a Taxi/cars can pick up or drop off. Recommended!

This is not a complaint, just note that the hotel is in an old medieval building, so you will have to navigate crooked stairways!

It's centrally located, small (only 17 rooms), and charming. The staff is sweet and relaxed at the same time. Unlike many others I like they did not add an escalator to the building. That would have compromised the architecture of the old house. I understand that its not inclusive for all, but the entrance also has a few steps and the road outside is a bit steep for a wheelchair.

The wifi at the breakfast was weak, but I could take my online lecture and breakfast to the reception :)

Mystical old town charm Beautiful decoration Not like chain hotels that look all the same there was a lot of character that I personally love The staff were beyond nice , super helpful friendly and would go above and beyond Location is bang in the old town I really couldn’t ask for more

I was in room 17.. the locks were a bit old and hard to lock for a small not very strong girl and sometimes there was this weird smell in the bathroom .. just need small fixes to an otherwise beautiful hotel

We had a lovely stay at the Allegro Hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal - on a quiet street and about a 5 minute walk from the canal and nearby restaurants. The reception staff were very helpful and even offered us a welcome drink on the house. There was a good variety of food at the breakfast buffet and eggs cooked to order. It would have been nice to have a bit more fresh fruit but perhaps being a bit picky here. Our room was slightly on the small side but cosy - we appreciated the quaint features and Slovenian design. Overall, we had a very pleasant time here.
