We had a wonderful stay at the Cloud 9 hotel. The staff is outstanding - very friendly and helpful and we felt immediately comfortable and welcomed. We had a beautiful spacious room with a side view of Lion's Head. The hotel has various outdoor spaces including two pools, a hot tub and a sauna. There is guest parking which has to be reserved and paid for extra, but it's a secured space with cameras so it was definitely worth the money. Cloud 9 is just around the corner of Kloof Street with a lot of restaurant and bar choices and we felt safe to walk the short way there. For load shedding the hotel has back-up power, the only things not working are hair dryers and ACs, but it is easy to plan around the load shedding times since they are prominently announced at the reception. I'd always come back and stay here again and can only recommend booking a room here.
Everything was great! The only thing to note is that the hotel has two pools and the pool with the view of Table Mountain is part of the restaurant area and there's no area to relax right next to it. There's an amazing rooftop with sun beds and tables and there's the second pool area (without a view) with proper sunbeds and a hot tub. So there's plenty of outside space to relax at and the views are exactly as shown on the photos, but wanted to mention this for this specific pool.

Everything about Cloud 9 was just wonderful, far exceeding our expectations. Particularly every member of staff were so friendly and couldn't do more to help us. Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean with more than enough room for our family of four and a lovely balcony with the most spectacular view of table mountain. The location, just around the corner from Kloof Street and an easy drive to Table Mountain / V&A, was perfect for us. It really did feel like a 5 star experience. We would highly recommend and not hesitate to go back on our next visit to Cape Town.
Nothing at all, it was perfect!

- I take it we had the best room in the hotel: Just beautiful, looking into the Avocado-trees and their birds of the inner garden. - great location: pubs and restaurant plentiful in walking distance - cozy room, cozy restaurant, cozy roof-top bar, cozy jacuzzi and pool area
- Spa disappointing. Poorly organized and not keen on giving you service - hot-water in the shower a bit tricky (either too hot or not hot enough) - load-sharing. Not their fault, I guess...

This was my third stay at Cloud 9 and it was just great as ever. I was. unexpectedly given a room upgrade which was marvellous. As ever, though I didn't use it having the spa on site is great and new features such as sauna and hot tub installed during 2023 make the place even better. Restaurant is very pleasant, especially for breakfast. Staff lovely.
It was particularly cold in Cape Town when I visited and so I needed the air con/heater. It wasn't working very smoothly but staff did everything to help sort this and also brought a second heater to the room for me.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures dont do it justice. It has beautiful views of the mountain from the two gorgeous pools. Divine food from the very trendy and beautifully decorated restaurant. You can also order food and drinks to the pool area. The rooms have everything you need. The bed was huge and very comfortable with beautiful linen. It was spotlessly clean. The hotel has it's own spa and hairdresser which was very convenient and a great treat. Really nicely located close to lots of vibey restaurants and bars. Safe location. Amazing staff. We loved our stay. Safe parking available.
Everything was amazing. No complaints.

Lovely staff, most obliging and helpful. On site parking was a bonus, even with a small charge. Rooms very comfortable. Food great.
A lot more stairs than anticipated for guests with injuries. Found exiting the pool also difficult because of injuries/disabilities. Being picky Brits, a tipping culture has developed. We see this as a discretionary payment and not something that should be asked for by staff when just a couple of drinks have been ordered from the bar.

This was our third time at Cloud 9 and we liked it just as much as the previous times! We've always had different rooms, but all of them were spacoius enough and equipped with everything we needed. The whole ensemble is quite rambling but charming and you can always find a quiet corner, even when it's busy! We particularly liked the rooftop bar and pool deck with a scenic view of the mountains - perfect for relaxing in between. We would love to come back!

The best thing for us about this hotel was the location. It's in such a central location. It was so quick and easy to get to Table Mountain, Lions head, Camps Bay, the V&A etc. Also it's within a few minutes walking distance to Kloof street/Long street. This was amazing for the evenings. We never needed to get a taxi anywhere, we could just walk and it felt safe. Our room was lovely. It had a nice big balcony and a separate bathroom. The shower was great and always nice hot water. The rooftop was amazing with great views over Table Mountain. We never ate there so can't comment on the food. The two pools are tiny but fine if you just want to cool down quickly. The different little spaces in the hotel were lovely - the reception area and chill out areas. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a nice atmosphere/feel. The staff at the hotel were fab. So nice and friendly and helpful. We got a car on our last day in Cape Town so parked it at the hotel for one night. There was gated parking which was great so our rental car was safe for the night. Overall I would and have recommended this hotel to friends.
The room was small enough with not a lot of storage. We were there for 5 nights and it really was a tight squeeze. We couldn't unpack anything at all... bar use a few hangers. There also weren't many plugs, except for 1 each on either side of the bed so it was hard for charging up devices etc.

The location of this hotel is excellent - there are lots of lovely restaurants, cafes and useful shops within a few minutes walk which was really useful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are extremely friendly and very willing to help. They are also responsive via email which we found really useful. The little pool and sunloungers are lovely and the rooms are all really large and airy. I love that both of our rooms also had balconies.
My only negative is the noise levels outside. I had a room facing the road and late at night there were always groups of people shouting outside and making quite a lot of noise. The road is quite wide here and parking more easy than on the main road with the restaurants so it feels like it's a bit of a meeting place for people. There's nothing the hotel could have done about this and it's a shame that it happens but if you want a very quiet room / stay, I'd suggest requesting a room that doesn't face the main road.

Great location literally next to the Kloof St with lots of cafes and restaurants, still the hotel itself is located in a quiet side street (several nice coffee shops and restaurants literally nearby). Nice and comfortable room with complimentary water, tea and even cognac. I had a great view at the Table Mountain from my balcony. Very good breakfast (you can order from the menu and they prepare delicious things for you). They also have a very nice restaurant and a rooftop bar/terrace. Old Victorian style building nicely renovated.
Swimming pools were very small and didn’t look very welcoming for swimming, but personally I came to Cape Town not for this so this didn’t really bother me.
