Excellent hotel. We stayed in the Arcadia building, and it was lovely. No complaints whatsoever about the room or the facilities. The staff were exceedingly helpful, above and beyond. The food was outstanding, the breakfast being a particular highlight. It is very calm and peaceful, an enjoyable place to spend time.

It is hard to really pick something negative. The only small thing is that the hotel does not sell alcohol, however they are incredibly accommodating for you bringing your own alcohol, and they will store a bottle of wine or two for you to have at dinner.

This hotel is absolutely exquisite. We travel quite a lot and I think this would be in our top 5 hotels ever. Literally perfect - stunning decor/aesthetic, gorgeous dining room (BYO wine and get the famous roast chicken!), amazing breakfast (shakshuka was incredible), beautiful rooms. Every inch of the property is designed so thoughtfully, it truly felt like coming "home" after sightseeing. Sometimes we didn't want to leave in the mornings - coffee on the terrace was delightful! I had read that a lot of people stay at V&A or Camps Bay, but this location was PERFECT for us. Quick and easy uber rides - ubers came within 2-3 minutes - and the location was very secure, we never felt unsafe arriving or departing from the premises. I'm literally obsessed with this hotel and miss it so much.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views over Cape Town. Every corner of Dorp, from its guest rooms, to it’s main dining room, to it’s multiple game and social rooms, has been carefully crafted to embody a level of charm and wisdom only nourished with age; having been built a few years ago, this only reinforces the talent behind the interior and exterior architecture and decor. The attention to detail, from warm smiles from all staff, to an exquisite culinary menu, and finally to the care and hospitality shared with guests has made this hotel one of the best we’ve been to - ever.

Elegance is unassuming; it does not demand attention, much like Dorp. Incredibly beautiful and nestled in the Bo-Kaap, it offers breathtaking views of Table Mountain and the City Bowl. It’s an experience like no other, where one falls in love again with the simple joys of getting into bed, taking a shower, walking in the garden, or sitting down for an unforgettable dinner that evokes the warmth of home and family. The incredible staff at Dorp have a light touch and a deep understanding of hospitality. Thank you! We can’t wait to come back home—to Dorp, the place we fell in love with.

The breakfast was amazing, the hotel has incredible views over Cape Town and table mountain and the staff are so kind and friendly. Great for dietary needs to as we had a gluten and dairy free guest and were catered for so well. The chicken was amazing in the restaurant too.

Reception could give a bit more information beforehand about the whole hotel. There's a roof terrace, pool etc and it didn't seem to be mentioned at the start. This isn't a bad thing but the hotel just has so much to offer and we only found out on the last day of our stay a few things.

The Dorp Hotel is a must-visit destination, whether you're a local or a tourist. The decor and overall aesthetic is a feast for any art lover's eyes, the breakfast was superb and the rooftop offers one of the best views of Cape Town I have ever seen. The gardens are lush and well kept and the attention to detail in the rooms is just on another level. I will definitely be returning in the future!

Having to park your car in a random spot on the hill might be a slight drawback, but it’s not a dealbreaker, as uncovered parking is quite common in Bo-Kaap.

The staff, the warm welcome, the incredible views of Table Mountain and the Bokaap, the amazing breakfasts but most of all the friendliness, help and happiness one is afforded by all who work and stay there. It is a feeling of coming home when one arrives.

Nothing not to like. One of the bijoux rooms I moved to for an extra night was extremely warm with little ventilation. In the heat of summer, it would be more comfortable having a sheet on the bed, under the duvet, as having just the duvet is much too hot in the summer months. Having a swimming towel in the room for ease of use at the pool would be convenient.

The staff were friendly, helpful and the breakfast spread was amazing! Loved the beautifully styled interiors and they have a spectacular rooftop terrace where you can view the entire city from. We also had a lovely view from our window from the 2nd floor terrace room. They have a number of event spaces where you can host private dinners/ gatherings.

Dorp at located at the top of a very steep hill and you can call an Uber Black for pick up or self drive. There isn't anything really walkable from the location so I would not recommend for a long stay. Also there are many stairs around the property depending on which room you have booked so it not great for people with accessibility needs. We booked a 1 day Cape Peninsular tour through the concierge, our driver was great with roads/directions, however did not give us much information about places of interest.

Everything. Dorp is exceptional in every single way. It’s difficult to convey the atmosphere and welcome, but akin to visiting friends. I have never stayed somewhere so relaxed and felt so at ease. The hotel itself is stunning even better than the photographs (if that is possible !). The gardens and terraces provide breathtaking views over Cape Town and Table Mountain. Our room was magnificent, the bed was enormous and soooo comfortable. Early morning coffee on our private terrace gazing at Table Mountain was a highlight of the holiday. Breakfast was faultless. We would like to thank everyone at Dorp for such a wonderful stay and we will be back!

Beautiful property with big rooms. The staff are excellent and that is the main reason to stay here. Everyone is very helpful. Special thanks goes to Lucy, Ryan and Mandy.

Not all rooms have a shower. Check this if you don’t like to shower inside the bathtub. The sinks have 2 taps, one for hot and be for cold. So might be problem in winter since I don’t like to fill up the sink to wash my face. Location is a bit off and up a very very steep road.
