Hyatt Regency Cape Town

Location is excellent as it is very central to all the amenities. Very good food also available nearby. Masjid facilities walking distance from the hotel.

Before I got there I had a problem with the hotel in connection with my booking as they insisted I had booked for two adults only. I was traveling with my daughter and two grandchildren. This did put a damper on my holiday as I had previously stayed there with my other daughter and two grandchildren. Once I got to the hotel I requested an extra bed and the gentleman that I spoke to was very accommodating as he moved us to a bigger room and when I showed him my booking.com confirmation he accepted that I had infact booked for four people.

The staff was amazing. They were extremely helpful and so friendly. They suggested things to do and they helped in every possible way from waiter to door man. It was such a good experience. The location is central close to Bo-Kaap and you can get Uber to Waterfront and it is like 5-7 min away. The room was big and bathroom was large and the view out of the window was beautiful

The room AC kept tripping which wasn't good. The load shedding was taking place everyday but since it was good weather that didn't bother us at all. The floors could use a little more fragrance like at reception which will leave a good impression

Loved the spacious rooms and the location. I could get my uber to all locations i wanted to go to. Safe for a solo traveler. The staff and the reception was super friendly and helpful.

Load shedding happened and there was no backup power for lighting up the rooms. Was in the dark for 2 hours. The room service menu can do with more options. Hotel does not take cash payment.

room was spacious with a huge living room, breakfast was great. Staff are super nice and friendly.

location is not that great for a walk alone.

The staff were very accommodating and were great from reception, to breakfast staff and everyone was willing to assist and get any issues/ clarity resolved.

The hotel caters well for corporate and business travel but not really a kid friendly room. I booked on booking.com and stipulated I had a 2 year old kid and if rooms had a sleeper couch that work wonders for under 12's. As a tip to the staff at reception, they can advise on breakfast times, wifi connectivity and basic navigation at the hotel, this just gives a positive reception as you start at the hotel, overall service was great.

one the day of check out early at 8:30 am room service came and wake me ip from sleep just yo ask are you checking out today, and although I stayed in the hotel for 8 nights they hardly agreed to give me one extra hour for late check out

Breakfast menu should be changed every few days. Swimming pool too small.

A very nice hotel in the heart of Cape Town. Lovely people and a fantastic breakfast with many great choices. New and nice rooms, good parking, highly recommended for a relaxed time in Cape Town after a long flight.

The pool area is ok for a quick swim, but nothing special and does not really match with the quality of the rest of the hotel. The bar at the pool was out of cocktails when we asked and it was not possible to just have a drink at the bar in the evening, when not having dinner in the main restaurant. We had to order room service, which is a little unusual for a hotel like that.

The whole experience was lovely. It made the rest of the negative aspects of this trip seem insignificant.

My interactions with booking.com were the only issue I had as I tried to extend my stay but no one followed up . I did however manage to book another night through the site eventually. I wish I could stay another night as my flight that I missed today will only be on Tuesday. Unfortunately I can't justify the spend and my insurance company I used is repudiating my claim so so I'll have to find an alternative for tomorrow 😢 The only thing that could be better is the entertainment in the room but hey who spends that much time in a room in Cape Town?

An amazing location at the edge of Bo Kaap. The staff were amazing and every interaction with them was seamless. The on-site restaurant was exceptional and a highlight of my trip with awesome food and top tier service. The buffet breakfast was also great quality.

There were no negatives to this hotel or to my stay. Those fond of drinking should be aware that the hotel is Halal and has limited opportunities for drinking (Dinner and the Roof bar in the evenings being the exception). Considering it’s position at the edge of Bo Kaap, this is hardly surprising. There’s an off-license across the road and a taxi to V&A amenities area would cost about £2, so you won’t die of thirst.
