The Table Bay Hotel

Excellent breakfast, excellent service at breakfast. Our booking was easy. Want to mention Jameela and Kallen who helped sort out double charges. very efficient. My friend left a dress in her room when she checked out and Jameela successfully helped to locate it. The location was excellent with an escalator right into the mall, very easy. Spectacular view of the sea, seals, boats and brilliant sunset.

The water was not always hot. Some mornings I enjoyed a uke warm bath, bbbrrrrr. The products are not refilled in the bathrooms on a daily basis. I had back to back bookings and had to ask a products refill.

Table Bay Hotel - The way you think a high class hotel should be. From the greeting at the gate, to the baggage services and the staff at check-in, the welcome was superb. We were a tad early and our room wasn't available, but we were heading for lunch anyway, when we returned a few hours later, the young lady was very apologetic and had upgraded us to a mountain facing family room. After a late afternoon session at Ferrymans, we did some shopping and then enjoyed some time in the wonderful hotel bar, great atmosphere, some old world charm and such great staff. To cap off a great stay and excellent night sleep, the complimentary breakfast was world class. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and the buffet breakfast was sensational, nothing but the best, its not often I am having a breakfast that I will remember lifetime.

That I wasn't staying longer, I really couldn't fault anything, this is truly a hotel that I would recommend to anyone and most certainly stay at again, when I head back to one of my favourite cities.

Everything was excellent. The only thing I can mention is some maintenance needed in the room: leaking toilet and shower mixer works inconsistently.

The location and hotel facilities, plus some of the staff were excellent. The Spa was very good too.

Some of the staff need more training as they did not have a clue to what was being requested at certain times, plus the breakfast buffet was ALWAYS running out of food items, at various times it was open and it took ages to get served at various bars. I also didn't like the way some of the staff were spoken to by their managers in front of guests. It was shocking and should not EVER happen. The room service breakfast should not be charged for if you are already paying for breakfast as part of your accommodation charge. A small fee should be applied for taking it to the room, but not £32 for 2 breakfasts on top of the room accommodation charges.

excellent location , good facilities

I paid for a luxury family room with sea view and I DID NOT GET SEA-VIEW. They said unfortunately they could not accommodate me. Food service at the foyer and outdoors grounds was very slow.

The easy access to the mall, was very handy for us. Also loved the pool area. Staff where super friendly and very accommodating to our son. The complimentary champagne and cake was very thoughtfull on arrival. Without a doubt you will see us again very soon.

Honestly everything was perfect but the night before we were supposed to check out my husband, did ask for late check out and was happy to pay as our flight was at 6pm, But was told by the recipetionist we would have a complimentary late check out until 2pm, but by 12 we received a call to check out and I tried to explain to the guy on the phone but he didn't even make an effort to find out or speak to another colleague he just said there is a guest coming you must vacate the room, this led to us rush packing and trying to get out as quickly as possible, Although reception manager did try to give a key to stay till 2 pm, when we were at check out, but was a bit late, but however appreciate the effort made to resolve the matter.

The location is great, right on the Waterfront and in an area we found to be safe and with lots of shopping and eating options. The breakfast was fantastic - the first time I have seen Oysters in a breaktfast buffet! The room was large and we had an ocean view. The staff were friendly and valet parking was included free of charge.

The hotel has a 'traditional' style, but that's part of its charm really. Like other reviewers we had to queue for breakfast at peak times (9am ish)- in our case, about 10 minutes with a further 5 minute wait for the egg stations - hardly the end of the world but worth being aware of.

I had read mixed reviews about the Table Bay before our arrival and was a bit concerned as it had cost a lot of money. But I needn't have been concerned as we had a very enjoyable stay. I had mentioned when booking that it was our wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a bottle of "champagne", cakes and a balloon which was a lovely touch. The room was clean and spacious with all the facilities you would expect. Breakfast was incredible, so many options and everything fresh and hygienically presented. We had no problem with waiting for a table and went straight in on each of our three mornings. The swimming pool area provided a lovely sunny escape from the vibrancy of the Waterfront, but the hotel location was fantastic. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

The price quoted for an airport transfer was extortionate, was very easy to book an Uber at a fraction of the price.

As we always come back to this wonderfull hotel, we know always its marvellous buffet breakfast. THE ROOM SERVICE IS PERFECT AND THE VIEW ALSO. We had a very quiet location and appreciated that.

The dinner at the restaurant was ridiculous, much too exaggerate service and explanations, for the poor and small portions of the menu. The price was in no proportion with quality or the variety of the food. Bad 2hours experience.....

Best location in Capetown for sightseeing, restaurants, shopping. Friendly staff, busy hotel lots of ins and outs. Load shedding is handled daily well although when the power goes out the elevators can get out of zinc. The breakfast buffet is the best we have ever experienced! Anything you can imagine is available. The spa is great massage are very reasonably priced and well done.

The room servicing was hit or miss. Had an impossible time getting a bellman to take our baby bags down. Finally just carried them down ourselves.
