At least there must two cards, one for the room and another for the lift. When you travel with more than one person, you can't step out and leave them in the room with electricity because you have to use the same card on the lift.

We spent the night in Durban as we wanted to go shopping at Gateway Mall, and the hotel was ideally suited for this. Very pleasant stay, friendly staff on the whole. Hotel room had everything we needed,

I found the toilet seat very uncomfortable as it was so narrow. My cousin who was travelling with me unfortunately contracted a 24 hour bug (or possibly the chicken salad she ordered at the restuarant) and had terrible diarroeah and vomiting throughout the night. As we were collecting family members from the airport at 12 the next day I asked for a late checkout so she could sleep in a bit. The first receptionist said it was no problem, but when i went back another receptionist charged me R150. Was happy to pay, just the service was inconsistent.

The location tops it all…I value convenience and I got to access almost everything and every place I intended to go to….the service was top notch and the whole staff was really great . From the security, receptionists,room service,house keeping, waiters & waitresses upto the chefs…I’m really grateful and looking forward to my next free visit with my family 😃

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel I got it on a very good value for money deal on booking.com Location is great and right next to gateway mall Breakfast is tops, staff is friendly and rooms are clean and spacious

Nothing major, however: 1) I do feel rooms need to inspected for general wear and tear, because I'm not sure how often this is done, if at all, unless when complained about - testing plug points, checking seals and mechanisms and plumbing (hinges, doors, drawers, toilet flush etc) 2) Deck and pool area: - I can't say here's anything wrong with it, but I do feel some attention could be given to make this area more appealing to guests, as it felt very 'bland' and didn't give one the feeling to want to spend time up there

Tvs are very outdated, poor quality channels for a city hotel of this standard even hotels in the drakensberg have smart Tvs. The toilet door did not close. Juices at breakfast should be in a juice dispenser, very inconvenient bottles. Pool was too shallow and no umbrellas on deck with Durban heat.

Everything was perfect, the staff were all so friendly & accommodating. We really enjoyed the pool deck, our room was amazing, we were upgraded to superior suite, due to the aircon making a big noise in our previous room 109, I did not sleep that entire night. The breakfast was excellent, I take my hat out to Benjamin who went the extra mile for us, he makes such tasty omelets & made sure we were comfortable during breakfast. Nkulu at the front desk is such a lovely person, I will definitely be back soon.

I did not like the late check in, there was a delay on the hotel side & room 109 the aircon needs to be fixed as it makes a loud noise like a generator is on.

Breakfast spread was great. The room was value for money. Location - very central to where all the action is. Malls and great restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

I was rather annoyed to be informed, after a 50% deposit was paid, parking is charged for at a daily rate. No where on the booking.com website is this mentioned. The hotel blamed this on booking.com

Rooms are super spacious, breakfast is delicious, it’s really quiet and great location.

Rooftop pool was so lovely but unfortunately we just couldn’t stay up there. Music was just too loud. Even after asking the dj/bar person to turn it down numerous times, they’d turn it down a little and a few minutes later turn it back up again. Felt like a nightclub at 10am in the morning. Just wasn’t inclusive for all travellers and was super disappointing for an otherwise amazing stay.
