We absolutely loved this hotel. From outside the front door, you looked up at The Alhambra in all its glory, spectacularly illuminated at night. The staff were helpful and friendly, offering advice about what to do, where to eat, what to see. They booked a very authentic flamenco evening for us, a short walk from the hotel. Stroll down to the bottom of the street and a delightful riverside awaits you with lots of cafe's and restaurants. We were spoilt for choice. We would return in a flash.

There was nothing we didn't like but the following might be helpful. The hotel is not easy to find but well worth the effort. Please DO follow the hotel advice and DO NOT programme your satnav for the hotel's location (as we did). If you do, you will end up outside the Alhambra on the wrong side of the river and ravine. If you drive slowly and follow their directions to the letter, you will find the hotel.

Let your journey into the rich history of Granada begin with a bit of history itself - Casa Morisca used to be a house built by the 'Moriscos' in the late 15th century and has been lovingly restored by the Granada based architect Carlos Sanchez. The history hangs heavy in the air as you are transported back thousands of years. You could not ask for a better location - right in the heart of Albaicin, the old town of Granada; with the AlHambra rising majestically over it. The AlHambra, the neighbourhood of Sacromonte, Mirador San Nicholas are all within walking (more like hiking) distance from it. The staff is excellent - polite, friendly and more than happy to go out of their way to help you in anyway.

There is absolutely nothing to not like about Casa Morisca. Nothing at all!

The hotel is tucked away on a steep street facing the Alhambra, very close to restaurants, shops and nightlife but quiet and relaxing. My husband had one of his beat nights of sleep ever here, as there were no windows to the outside. (The windows looked onto the courtyard.) the bed was super comfortable, and I was reminded by the sound of water rushing through the pipes when someone took a shower in another room of the many fountains and other water features at the Alhambra. The shower was strong and hot, the bath products were high quality and the towels were thick and fluffy.

Everything was fine.

The Casa Morisca hotel is in the perfect place in Granada, in the middle of the Albaicin, the old part of town. All of the town's main attractions can be visited on foot, or by using the frequent local buses, which stop near the hotel. The Alhambra is a 20 minute walk away, up a steep hill, the cathedral and capilla real are a 10-15 minute walk. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and snack bars nearby. The hotel is clean, quiet and the staff are very friendly. It is one of the few hotels in the area with free parking. Breakfast costs extra, but was very good. Each morning we had a choice of omelette, fried, or scrambled eggs, freshly pressed orange juice, bread, cheese, ham, yoghurts, cereals and fruit salad. The hotel has a nice outside patio and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Nothing.

The room had a fantastic view of the Alhambra - you could lie on the bed and see it out the window! A relatively short walk back to the town and Plaza Nueva where we caught a taxi up to the Alhambra. Numerous restaurants close by the hotel or down around Plaza Nueva.

The trade-off for the view was the set of narrow stairs up from the top floor service by the lift to the room. The staff did take our suitcases up there when we arrived. Breakfast (not included) was pretty ordinary - we ate out on the second morning.

The location is fantastic with views up to the Alhambrah and easy walk to bars/restaurants. Quite tricky to find it by car and involves driving through narrow old streets but worth it. Breakfast was mainly a continental buffet but there is the option to have eggs cooked for you. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We were running late to go to the Alhambra and the hotel staff booked a taxi for us. I unfortunately left my mobile phone in the taxi and called the hotel staff who were so helpful. They called the taxi firm and retrieved my phone which I later picked up. They paid for the taxi to return my phone which was very much appreciated. Of course, I paid for this when I returned to the hotel. Exceptional service!

Nothing. Bit tricky driving there so need to be patient and follow instructions carefully!

Fantastic location, only minutes walk to Albaicin and Sacromonte. 15 minutes walk up a very steep hill to Alhambra. The building itself is very beautiful in traditional moorish style. The hotel was very accomodating with an earlier check in. The room was large, everything inside was comfortable and in good condition. Staff very friendly. Highly recommend

I was a little disappointed with the view - I booked a room with a view of Alhambra but it was obscured by an awning so it was not ideal. Skip the breakfast, the selection is very limited for the 14 euros.

This is a small, quiet hotel in a graceful old building. The location is great in terms of being in walking distance to all areas one might want to visit (although, conversely that does also mean that you do have to do some walking to get to those areas). Beds were very comfortable.

The room was a little small (although not overly so). Breakfast was pricey for what you got.

Hotel Casa Morisca deserves its fine reputation. It is a beautiful building with well appointed rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The optional breakfast downstairs was good. Our room had a lovely view of the Alhambra from the window and the bed was firm and comfortable. Spacious bathroom with a two person tub and a shower. We took a taxi from the train station and back. That was the right choice as the streets are very narrow and steep. They do have a few parking spaces reserved out front if you are driving around the area, but with the convenient local bus and everything being so close it is definitely not necessary to have a car to see old Granada. The city is truly special and the Alhambra is magnificent.

There was nothing we would change about our stay.

We had a nice stay at Casa Morisca. The location was excellent and our room had multiple views of the Alhambra. From the hotel, it is only a 5-10 min walk to the center of the city. The room itself was great - very clean, comfortable bed, spacious shower, and lots of toiletries in case you forget any at home. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs.

The air conditioning unit cooled the room; however, when turning itself off, it made a loud clicking noise which we unfortunately didn't notice until the end of the day because we were exploring the city when we arrived. The noise was enough to wake us up in the middle of the night. We tried multiple settings, but to no avail. We told the staff about it in the morning, and it was fixed promptly that day.
