We liked everything about this hotel, it is located 2 minutes walking from the San Bernardo metro station or you can easily walk 15-20 minutes to Gran Via or wherever you need to go to. The staff is on desk 24hrs, and they are very friendly and efficient. They even have spare travel cards that you can top up in case you need one. The room is a very good size and extremely clean, I definitely would recommend this place and stay here again.

I can't think of anything I didn't like. Perhaps the only mishap that happened to us is that the automatic doors do not open from 2am to early morning (we were on a festival and arrived very late most of the days), but you can use your room card to open it from outside. We didn't know this bit, but we were easily made aware, nonetheless the card didn't work. But nothing to worry about because there's always someone at the desk.

All the staff that we met were professional and friendly. Everything was beautifully clean and the whole hotel had a lovely fresh aroma! Our room was very comfortable though the view from our window was of the roof of the basement (we could of course have paid a little more and had a room with a view over the little park at the front of the hotel). The lounge and reception areas were comfortable with easy chairs and sofas together with a small library and a computer terminal. Breakfast very good even including cava and smoked salmon as well as cheese, cold cuts, hot items, cereals and pastries. The location is good near to several bus routes and two Metro lines at San Bernado Metro Station.

It would have been wonderful if the hotel had a pool - but we already knew that this is a city break hotel when we booked so this is in no way a criticism.

- It was really cold in the first room that we got. However, we got a new room without any problem and it was good. - No kettle and tea in the room. - No price list for minibar. - No free water (at least small bottle - maybe the one in minibar was free?) - Iron was available on demand, but I believe every room should be equipped with that.

The hotel is beautiful, the service was impeccable and the decor and furniture were stylish. We had a room on the 8th floor, it was absolutely quiet, comfortable, clean and with a spectacular terrace. The location was more than perfect, 5 minutes from the metro station and in a nice neighbourhood. The breakfast was great and offered a wide selection (even churros).

The hotel is a bit frozen in time, has this 90's luxury atmosphere - marble, gold, dark wood panelling etc. However, my room was large and comfortable, large desk, good wifi, comfortable bed, minibar with fair prices. Breakfast was OK (I have seen better choice in Madrid, but sufficient for me). Reception was efficient.

The only thing I really missed was is a tea kettle in the room. This is now a standard in this class of hotels. Other than that, the room could use a better maintenance - especially the bathroom was a bit "tired".

Breakfast was great. The front desk was also kind, bright and wonderful.

Despite booking the same class, there was a big difference in room quality. I was first put into a very small room with a broken window. I had the complaint room changed from the 3rd day, but there was no comforter in that room, only a comforter sheet. Tired of complaining over and over again, I gave up on asking for a comforter.

Good location. Central to everything. Great communication and able to assist with our preferences easily. Rooms were comfortable and I like that there is a little corridor to the bathroom and is not a door straight off the main room. This way the light of the bathroom didn't wake either of us.

No coffee making facilities in the room and no iron/ironing board. I think that a hotel of this type and price should have these as standard in the room. I tried to call housekeeping to have an iron brought up but they took so long to answer that I gave up.

As always... everything at this gorgeous hotel was welcoming, comfortable, attentive and efficient! The hotel's position is so convenient for the City centre yet calm and attractive within it's setting in it's beautiful plaza! The rooms are all very comfortable and well designed with everything a traveller would need and more...and if you still need something extra the staff will do everything they can to provide it for you! The hotel has its own restaurant with delicious food and excellent service including room service ! Also it is very conveniently placed so that within walking distance are a myriad of bars, restaurants and shops also. The Hotel is extremely clean and high standards are maintained throughout! There is a small library on the ground floor and plenty of areas to sit and relax! The staff are truly wonderful...patient, kind, efficient and understanding. We have stayed here several times this year already and will return every time we visit Madrid. It is a pleasure to recommend Gran Hotel Conde Duque as we know that they value their visitors and give them the very best service they can !

Comfortable bed and excellent shower in a traditional hotel. Lots of storage in a built in closet/cupboard. Breakfast was great with many options. Location is a bit away from the tourist attractions but a few minutes walk from a metro station. Nice experience to be in a neighborhood location.

Room was small but manageable for mother/daughter pair. We requested twin beds but as is often the case in Europe, they were set up side by side. We could hear the guest next door and renovations were going on in two rooms down the hall.

This is a fabulous hotel overlooking an attractive and vibrant city plaza with fountains and lights! Central location surrounded by restaurants and shops and close to the Metro and taxis making it easy to visit all of Madrid's beautiful sights! Rooms are lovely.... well decorated and classy, with excellent bathroom facilities and very comfortable beds! There is a cosy restaurant downstairs and the staff are all very kind and helpful. The reception staff make you feel so welcome and have been a tremendous help with our frequent requests and visits recently! Particularly Christina and Noella who have made this wonderful hotel feel like our second home!! This is our favourite hotel in Madrid and I would highly recommend it!!
