The location is central and right in the middle of the village making everything super close (even though the size of the village makes everything close anyway 😄). The main door is closed after dark which gives an additional sense of security. The check-in was done through security key box (contacted via WhatsApp on arrival day) as we arrived in the evening. This worked like a charm as everything was explained really well. In the hallway was a fridge with complementary water bottles as well as fruit on top of it. The whole place was very peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was served in the restaurant (part of the same building) in the atrium of the hotel with a nice lemon tree (with huge lemons ). The staff was exceptionally friendly and made us and our two dogs feel very welcome.

I cannot think that there's a nicer boutique style little hotel in Mijas. As the other reviewers mentioned there are lovely touches like fruit and in the lobby outside the rooms (cute little sofa and sitting area) and free water in a fridge always available. The staff were the very best thing - so delightful and kind and always smiling. Breakfast was delicious, prepared to order, and after a few days of travelling around Andalusia having buffet breakfasts it was lovely to have something freshly and thoughtfully prepared. If you're a light sleeper maybe ask for a room overlooking the interior courtyard - the rooms overlooking the square outside might be loud as there are a couple of outdoor restaurants that stay open late, and also people take horse and carriage rides around Mijas until quite late! We were fine - it didn't disturb us at al (the soundproofing is pretty good in the bedroom). But if you are sensitive to noise it might be good to know. The advice about using the town car park on the hotel website is a good idea - during the day huge busloads of people come to Mijas on day trips from the resorts on the coast - you cannot move for people! So trying to drive near the hotel is nearly impossible. The walk from the car park is only about 5 minutes -if you can get past all the people! Even better try to arrive once the coach loads have left in the evening - that would make it easier. The main streets in the centre of Mijas get incredibly busy in the day time, but if you just walk 5 minutes up the hill you will find yourself on your own in the beautiful pretty white streets that Mijas is famous for. All those streets have beautiful flower pots decorating the walls outside every house - with different colour pots and different colour flowers on different streets! It's lovely, and very few of the 1,000s of tourists seem to make it up there (even though it is literally 5 minutes away from the busy main square and souvenir streets.)

The location was excellent as it was at the heart of Mijas pueblo, we were able to walk around the village without transport and the local bus stop was a 5 minutes walk from the hotel if we wished to explore further afield such as Fuengirola or Torremolinos for a few hours which we did and thought was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and healthy, it was enough to keep you going until lunch time as the portions were generous!

Everything was fabulous, can’t think of anything that we didn’t like. Staff were helpful and friendly, always with a smile on their faces and happy to answer any questions.

This hotel is officially my favourite! Firstly, it’s so beautiful, on the nicest cobble street with the most amazing views! inside it is minimal modern, so clean and a warm atmosphere! the cafe attached (including breakfast) super!!!! beautiful courtyard and terrace! I used this hotel to get ready for my wedding and it’s so stunning for photos. All the staff were so kind and so helpful, ordered taxis / brought water, even gave me a bouquet of flowers to celebrate and croissants that’s morning. I didn’t want to check out, it’s truely so special. I can’t wait to return. it’s just perfect!

Great location in the centre of Mijas. The owner greeted us in the café that is also part of the hotel, offered us a drink and gave us lots of helpful information. As the hotel wasn't busy we got a free upgrade to a lovely superior room with terrace and outdoor seating. The hotel is furnished to a very high standard and looks brand new. Everything is top quality. Lovely breakfast too- shame we didn't have time to enjoy it leisurely as we had to leave for the airport (very convenient stop for Malaga airport- particularly if you've hired a car as it's only 25 mins drive)

Nothing- it was amazing. Only thing to bear in mind is that you can't park outside and I imagine it would be fairly tricky to drop off bags. We parked 10 mins walk away for free and carried our bags to the hotel.

Location was excellent for restaurants, bars and shops etc. Easy walking distance to all although some hilly streets. Met on arrival by Juan who gave us a complimentary drink whilst explaining the history of the hotel which was his childhood home and he is now the proud owner of a beautiful 8 bedroomed hotel. All the staff were very helpful and smiley and obviously enjoyed their work. Fresh bottled water was available every day for free along with fruit. We would definately return to this hotel and recommend it to others.

The walk from the multi-storey car park back to the hotel. On our check out day we went up to the reception on the top floor and discovered their was a rooftop terrace which had tables and sofas etc. It looked like a relaxing area for guests but we were not aware of this and it was the only thing that we felt was missing and we would have enjoyed relaxing there maybe on returning to the hotel after walking or shopping.

Small, nice boutique hotel on one of the smaller town squares. The view was perfect and we could hear the church bell (does start before 8AM). The decoration was nice and modern. The staff very kind and helpful.

The floors are very cold out of season, so bring indoor shoes. The bathroom was also very cold. However, we started the heater when we woke in the morning and opened the door to the bathroom, so after ½ an hour is was acceptable. Be aware that cars early in the morning can very easily be heard in our room. The French balcony has a light in the floor, which felt annoying at night because the roller blinds could not be pulled all the way down to the window edge.

I had the greatest time here. I live in Malaga so I have visited Mijas a couple of times but this time I stayed overnight. The people at Opuntia were the greates. I was made feel so welcomed, they were speaking with me as if we were friends for years. And the place itself is so clean, so nice, you habe everything you need there. I will definitely be returning again !! :)

The breakfast was lovely and the quality superb, also good variety. The area was very nice with plenty to do, great restaurants/bars. Perfect location to all towns on coast. The design of the hotel and rooms was exceptional, one of the best hotels we have stayed at over the last 15 years of extensive travel.

Could not find a single thing to dislike.

The hotel has been renovated to an optimum standard with every thing colours, furniture, acsessories, pictures on walls, to even the soap dispenser stunning to look at. Bedrooms very comfy and tastfuly done with a fabulous walk in shower. 8 rooms in total, the two on the top floor have a great veranda that gets the sun all day and there is a very large terrace at the side. A superb breakfast is served on the courtyard on the ground floor with very accomodating staff who cannot do enough for you. I will return to this hotel and highly recommend it anyone going to Mijas. Do not forget to the visit shop that has access from hotel. Iva Italia Scotland.

Please serve the delicous fresh fruit along with the freshly squeezed orange and coffee to have before you bring the omlette and meats etc. Just a very small obervation not in any way a complaint
