The hotel location was perfect for me as I was working on NS Rota and I love walking along the beach and through town. Plus there are many restaurants, bars, and shops within a short walking distance, as well as a couple of parks. Another nice feature is the size of the room and the clothes storage as I was there for a week.

The rest of the stay was "bleh"! There was hardly ever anyone at the front desk, and when they were there about half were not very friendly or engaging. The bed was not very comfy, but definitely not the worst I have slept in (and I stay in a hotel the majority of the year because of work); it was okay. But the pillows were the worst I have ever had at a hotel...bar none!

The location is great because it's on the beach but also on the main plaza across from the castle and church. It's walkable to everything downtown. Parking was full at the hotel, but parking at the marina is cheaper (11 euros a day vs. 14)and I didn't have trouble getting a spot even in August. The showers are outstanding; possibly the best shower I've seen in a hotel.

This hotel was very posh when it was built and still retains that dark wood, Spanish grandma decor. The Playa hotel is renovating their rooms to probably appeal to a younger clientele, but the Duque is still traditional. Not that it's a bad thing, just an interesting observation.

Location was among the best of anywhere we’ve ever stayed. Great breakfast every morning with good, fresh food and great selection, helpful, friendly staff. The town is so nice and everything we needed was very accessible.

Weather, but that’s out of your control!

Everything. The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful. The location was excellent.

My only nit was that our balcony was “spilt” because of the shape of the building. An opaque glass separated us from our neighbor. Unfortunately our neighbor the final few days smoked like a chimney making it tough to sit outside or to leave the balcony door open. I recommend avoiding any of the x02 or x04 rooms if that sort of thing bothers you.

The Duque is an outstanding hotel. The staff are great and attend to guest needs promptly. The hotel sits right between two beaches, has an amazing pool and lounge areas. Rota’s castle is right across the street and there are many excellent restaurants with just a few blocks. Also, for a small town, there are now many great little shops for clothing, shoes, beachwear, souvenirs…etc. you can take a ferry to Cadiz from the pier just outside the hotel, and there are many great day trips from this location…Gibraltar, Arcos, Rhonda, Jerez…there is also a water park and zoo nearby.

Amazing and beautiful hotel, few meters from beach and from main "plaza", so lot of restaurants in touch. Nice and clean room, with big beds. Beautiful pool (I cannot have chance to try it but it looks nice and clean). I hope I will come in future again.

Only one thing was loudy sewer in shower, so when I come to hotel and take shower, it made a noise so maybe I woke up neighbors :D

The beauty of the surroundings and the proximity to family living in Rota.

I prefer fresh coffee. I asked for extra coffee packets each day and didn’t realize I had to pay for it. Many hotels in the USA have fresh coffee offered in the lobby during the day which I appreciate.

Awesome place. Very clean and excellent location. You’re literally a step away from the beach, a medieval castle and a beautiful church.

Nothing because this is my favorite hotel.

Good size rooms

This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in where I had to pay to replenish tea, coffee, milk and sugar in the room. Small minded and petty move on the part of management
