Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, amazing spa

A little far from downtown so had to taxi if you wanted to get anywhere else, but beautiful surroundings!

We spent two luxurious days at this fabulous boutique hotel on the outskirts of Santiago. The room was lovely, the bed super comfy and the staff was very attentive and friendly. We had amazing meals at the hotel restaurant - breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We met the proprietresses of the hotel - she’s delightful and made us feel at home. We really enjoyed walking along the creek pathway and park area adjacent to this property, an unexpected treat!

The hydro circuit at the spa was nice, but the water could be warmed up a bit in my opinion.

Spotless room with all the amenities needed. staff is so nice!! They went above and beyond for my husband’s bday! restaurant is a must try! Even the the room service food was great! Going to Santiago downtown from the hotel was around 9€ (asking at the reception), going back was 7€ picking it up at a taxi stop (ask the reception where you can easily find these taxi stops). Wellness treatments are not cheap but worth it if you want to pamper yourself.

Ventilation system (none in the bathroom) needs to improve.

Spa and gym were below expectations: sauna extremely small and old; Turkish bath without atmosphere (felt like a plastic box). The water circuit was ok-ish as well as the pool. We missed a relaxing with deck chairs. Also we thought that the breakfast was not so great, really nothing special and only a small, normally crowded buffet. But staff serving was really friendly.

We stayed one night, at the end of our Camino walk. We loved the beauty of the hotel, inside and out, and our beds were so comfortable that we didn't want to leave them. Breakfast was gorgeous and delicious -a wide array of fruits, yogurts, pastry, nuts, cheese, fish. We booked dinner in the dining room and I loved the Galician Beef! The massage and facial was one of the best I ever had. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This is a comment for the owners of the Quinta, not the staff. There are many beautiful pieces of art and "knick-knacks" around the quinta. I noted that there were a few pieces of art displayed in the main foyer, that to this American travelers eyes, looked like stereotypical and disturbing images of Africans and African Americans. Of particular note was an Aunt Jemima looking figure holding a hamburger. I would suggest that these figures be removed. There were a few others.

It was a beautiful historic place with lovely gardens. The staff was welcoming and attentive. It was and the restaurant served delicious gourmet food.

The spa was a disappointment. Our massages really weren’t the high quality that we expected. The air conditioning wasn’t very affective. The staff provided us with a fan, but we were careful to choose a place with air conditioning and it didn’t work well. It was a surprise when I saw the charges on my bill for gluten-free bread. It was offered in a way that made me think that it was included.

The Quinta da Auga is among the most pleasant properties we stayed; the hotel is in a splendid condition, rooms are large and well equipped, the hotel has a fantastic restaurant and a pleasant cafe for a light supper or an afternoon drink in the nice garden. The hotel is set in a beautiful nature and waking up with the sounds of the small river and birds singing is a feast. Above all the Quinta da Auga has excellent staff; without exception the people of this resort deliver an excellent product. We look forward to return soonest.

I have stayed in top hotels&spas on 6 of 7 continents ... and Quinta da Auga is suddenly/unexpectedly now my favorite. The charm, the welcome, the gorgeous design (buildings and gardens), the food, the emphasis on sustainability (closing shutters, auto-off lights...), the history. Amazing. We are already wondering when we can return. Congratulations on an amazing service, and thank you for an unforgettably special stay.

The hotel is perfectly located approximately seven minutes from the city centre. A small river runs behind it and the sounds make the setting even more relaxing and inviting. The pool, garden, and sitting rooms are immaculately kept and invite one to enjoy the day! We loved the staff! Our room was generous in terms of size and the bed, pillows, and bedding were exquisite. The restaurant was fabulous for dinner and lunch, and the cafe was perfect when we wanted a smaller meal. We look forward to returning!

The hotel itself, very charming, great decoration, furnished with a lot of taste, the main living room has a huge stone fireplace that they lit every night which gives the perfect ambience. Super comfy beds, sheets and pillows and great views to the river that launches all along the hotel's property. They also have a great spa with pool, jacuzzi and body health treatments of all sorts. Overall, t's lovely and all the staff adorable they make you feel at home from minute one, it's the kind of place you would be very happy to return over and over again. Also close to Santiago, only 10 min by taxi, which makes it a great location,and last but not least dog Friendly, so, for us it has it all, we will return for sure!
