Eurostars Gran Hotel Santiago

It was off season. The breakfast buffet, for which I was charged only 10 Euros, is a wonder. It doesn't have gluten free bread but I brought my own (I am a celiac) so that was not a concern. The scrambled eggs were perfectly done, the fresh fruit was excellent - all in all an excellent value. The WIFI worked well, the bed was comfortable, the window opened (often a problem in modern hotels), there is a DIA supermarket just 3 minutes walk away, the University is only 3 minutes away. I have stayed there many times and will be staying there again in June. The hotel has an inner courtyard that runs the whole hotel that is a joy and a delight with hanging flowers.

One could mention that the light on the desk had burned out and didn't work. And that the chair at the desk was broken and fell apart. But these things happen and just use caution when sitting in a chair so you are not hurt!.

quite dated in Regency style, but I like that look so perfect for me.

only one lift working and we could not open our stuck wardrobe, receptionist said no maintenance over the weekends. one lift meant stairs most of the time as the working one was queued up on every floor, especially at breakfast time, but personally do not mind the stairs as good exercise. But would recommend they have some sort of maintenance coverage at weekends which are the busiest times for a hotel. but would definitely stay there again 👍👍

The space and the quality of the furnishings, towels and bedding. It was very quiet, even though we were near the elevator. The staff were especially helpful and seemed genuinely caring. Breakfast was served promptly which was important for us as we had an early departure.

There was little not to like, except that it was a bit remote from places to eat, and that we had trouble with the wifi.

It's an excellent, luxurious hotel! Spacious and clean room, nice furniture, quiet sleep. There are a lot of plants on every floor and a cinema-style elevator. The breakfast is a buffet and good. A bit far from the main city point - the cathedral. But in walking distance.

Unfortunately, there is no gym or sauna.

First impressions were very good as the reception staff were very knowledgeable & friendly. We checked in early & were upgraded to a junior suite. Small things like that really make a difference to the customer. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant & both the quality of the food & waiter service was excellent. We really enjoyed it.

Nice hotel with friendly staff and pleasant restaurant for breakfasts. Room was really well equipped with everything and staff reacted to all requests professionally. I really liked the concept of personal tongs for food at breakfast, since it really helps to make the process faster. Location in general is good, not as far from the city center, as it seems from the first sight.

Our room was a bit dark, we had more windows in bathroom than in room. Entrance to the parking is rather exciting, but it’s more a peculiarity of Spain :)

It's perfect...the buffet breakfast was complete and delicious. All the staff are doing well for their job assignments. A quiet far away from the Santiago Cathedral but if given a chance to have a pilgrimage again in this city we'll surely book again at this hotel.

The chairs are old but it's not a big issue anyway.

the property was spotless . lovely big room . also Garage facilities . The only reason I gave it an 8 is because we are elderly and it was too far for us walking to the old town . as up hill .

Great ambience with atrium and plants, light and airy. The breakfast was varied and good value for money. Very clean and spacious room. Friendly staff.

Lifts were slow at peak periods. The WiFi was often slow.

Facilities were great, everything was clean and in top shape and the employees were super friendly and helpful. Had a great stay!

Only ‘minus’ is that it’s a bit further from the city for those who don’t want to walk as much (about 15/20 min).
