Catalina Suites

We’ve spent a wonderful week at Catalina Suites, in the bustling hub of Old Town Valencia. Francisco (the owner), his son Chris, Laura and Fabian have been unbelievably helpful and gracious. I am a frequent traveler, during my career and for fun, and I cannot recall ever receiving such genuine and attentive service. This boutique hotel is located on a quiet side street (for Old Town Valencia), with lovely bright rooms in a tastefully renovated 19th century building. Textural elements of the original building arehighlighted against white plastered walls, creating a pleasing blend of modern and historic. We stayed in room 306, with original beams and arches, a very comfy king bed with crisp white linens and perfect pillows. A small balcony opens to the street below. This is a historic building, and is cozy with smaller rooms and baths. The elevator is small, but we packed light so not a problem. The spaces are lovely, but the attentive care of the owners and staff elevate this warm hotel to Five Star status.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - some of the best we've experienced. The location is fantastic, within walking distance to all the main sites in the old city and close to a metro station so you can get to the beach easily. The room was clean with a massive bed. The ceilings are quite low but this is to be expected in such an old building and didn't particularly bother us. The lift is really small, and can only squeeze two people in, but again it's impressive that they were able to install a lift in such an old building. We stayed on the 5th floor so were very grateful for the lift. Enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.

My main issue is that our room wasn't cleaned on one of the days. I think the housekeeper is only hired for a certain period of time during the day so if the room is missed out they can't really do anything about it later. The breakfast is a little limited and I think it would be great if they could add fresh fruit and yoghurt.

We had a wonderful time in Valencia. The staff were so helpful and made a great contribution to the enjoyment of our stay..We had most contact with Anabel who could not have been more helpful.Her colleagues were very helpful too. When we return to Valencia we will definitely stay at Catalina suites and will recommend it to our friends too. The hotel is central, the room comfortable with high quality bed linen and towels. Breakfast was included and more than adequate for our needs.We could not have been more satisfied with the hotel which is situated in the amazingly beautiful and interesting city of Valencia.

it’s in a 19th century building and has a lot of character. The front desk staff we dealt with…..Annabelle, L’Aurora, and Gabrielle…..couldn’t have been nicer. All were so friendly, helpful, and nice. The location was perfect…..15 minutes walk from the North train station, and walking distance to many areas. The metro station was only about a 10 minute walk also. Lots of cafes, restaurants and beautiful plazas in the area. They offer a simple Continental breakfast, which was fine for us…..coffees, teas, breads, jams, juices, and some Iberian ham.

We liked everything about this place, with only one exception. It is not located on a busy Main Street, but rather a pedestrian side street, and occasionally we could hear people talking outside. The windows weren’t as soundproof as we would have liked, but overall, we still slept pretty good there, and would stay there again.

The location was perfect. Right in the middle of the towns main attractions. The staff were really really helpful. The room was a good size for the night. Aircon worked well. Decent bathroom, again, for a few nights. I would not have chosen the room for more than say two nights. That is not a criticism it just would have been too small for say a week. We did not expect breakfast and it was therefore fine for us. Do not expect some huge choice.

Sound proofing😂😂. It is a very old building with wooden stairs etc which is part of the appeal but someone dropped a plastic bottle in the middle of the night and my wife thought it was someone in our room. Again not an issue for one or two nights.

I booked this hotel because has a perfect location in the heart of Valencia and has a great Charme. Also the hotel staff ( 2 guys ) were super friendly and really helpful. I booked a suite which in my opinion was a simply big double room, suites are mostly separated with 2 areas and here was not. The bed was comfortable and good for sleep, the room was clean and tidy. The breakfast option is really very basic and dont expect a lot. The bathroom is pretty small so for someone with big body size could be a problem to use it but....I recommend for 100% this hotel. Bathroom too small

Friendly and helpful staff, especially Lisi. Central location. Size and comfort of the room and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable.We asked for a quiet room and it was, despite its central position. Midweek price was good value. Breakfast was simple but was as promised so not a problem. My only concern is that with more reviews like this it will end up out of our price range!

Large TV perhaps needed a technicians training to operate and live up to its promise (and I am no technophobe). WiFi was good and strong so that compensated. At the moment the outside hotel signage is missing so you need to look at your map app very closely...

The location was amazing- very central & easy to walk everywhere. The room was quirky with a lovely juliette balcony, bed was very comfortable too.

The breakfast was very basic & we had to sit in low chairs which didn't make eating very easy. There was bread, ham & cheese plus jams & a mini croissant each but would have been nice to have some fruit of some kind. The only negative from the room was there was no mirror, only the bathroom one. Perhaps you could put a longer one on back of wardrobe door?
