My husband and I stayed here on a trip to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is in a great location. Less than a mile to Plaça de l'Ajuntament, Valencia Nord train station, La Lonja and the indoor market. We loved the decor, the breakfasts and the rooftop bar. We didn't use the pool as it tended to be busy while the pool was open and there's wasn't that much space for lounging. The service was excellent from start to finish. After a minor mix-up with our breakfast order (nothing that we were even stressed about - just one of those things) the restaurant manager insisted on treating to cocktails that evening.

The area around the pool is small and if you're lounging after a swim you're really close to other guests. Drinks in the hotel bar are very, very expensive. We ate out every evening so we only really had maximum 2 each at the hotel to end the day. There are lots of eateries and bars nearby so if you stay here you have other options.

The interior is simply fantastic - perfect work of decorators, very clean style in all details. Visually, the hotel is 10 out of 10 - starting with the rooms and ending with the lobby and rooftop pool and rooftop bar. Excellent! Also cleanliness and bed comfort 10 points. The cocktails at the rooftop bar were great!

The TV did not work in our room, but the hotel kindly offered to change the room, which we did not use, because the TV was not too relevant for us. In any case, it does not match the level and price of the hotel. One day they came to clean the room at six in the afternoon and forgot to replenish the toilet paper.

Boutique hotel feel in a central location, all of the old town attractions a short stroll away. Rooms, bathrooms spacious and very clean. Huge king (maybe super king) bed that was extremely comfortable. Finally, staff always positive and helpful providing consistently high standards of service.

Old card system that wipes cards if you leave them near your phone - such a pain to have t walk all the way back to reception to get new keys programmed!! These systems were changed out by most other hotels for this reason. The roof top bar has an over powering odor - very off putting.

Very close to all the sites we wanted to see, we could either walk or take the Metro everywhere around the city. The staff were very accommodating with our need to store luggage & very informative about hotel amenities & city sites. It was very hot & they had a water station with cold water in lobby which was very necessary & appreciated!

They were having some wifi issues during our stay. Also one of the days I woke to jackhammer noises. There are no interconnecting rooms but that was not a huge concern as my children are teenagers.

Absolutely perfect : the cleanliness and efficiency you would expect from Marriott and the perfect restoration & decoration you often find in the autograph collection. Santa Clara os truly perfect option in Valencia. We stayed 2 nights, the first being at next door Vincci Lys which just is not up to standard. It is even odd to think both hotels have the same rating. At the same price there simply is no comparison : santa clara offers better rooms, better infrastructure (roof top lap pool) and better service (kinder staff and more attention).

The rooftop pool was essential during our stay! The hotel is extremely well located, we spent the mornings meandering and around town, trying different brunch spots. The mid part of the day was too hot to be out and about so we lounged by the pool for hours. The staff were absolutely incredible. Some of the best hospitality we’ve experienced.

I would have to invent something to complain about, the hotel, the staff, and our stay were perfect.

Great location, not far from the train station. Very near lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The staff at the hotel were wonderful - so friendly and very patient with our attempts at Spanish. The room was a nice size and beautifully decorated. Very comfortable (and huge) bed too! The soundproofing on the windows was great, and we couldn't hear the air-conditioning at all (it was definitely on!). The splash pool on the terrace was a welcome addition after a day wandering about, and the terrace bar was our go-to place for a nightcap. Luca and the team were always so attentive and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!

Nothing really! The only thing that was 'different' to what I'm used to is the breakfast - it's not the usual buffet so you have to order everything. I'm not that awake in the morning so sometimes I like to see a buffet before I know what I'm in the mood for, which I couldn't do here. It was a nice breakfast though! Not a criticism just my personal taste.

The location! The amazingly calm vibes at the rooftop pool. The thoughtful practicalities in the room (clever safe design & iron and ironing board stowage!). The original and bespoke largely art deco decor (William Morris paper in loos!). Service was exceptional - from check in until departure. Breakfast comprehensive and served with a radiant smile!

The pillows were hypo allergenic and I prefer down / feathers..

Great location, very helpful reception staff, beautifully clean. Loved the style of the hotel, quirky and creative within the art nouveau style.

We know that breakfast was charged at 27 euros per person which we thought was expensive. We understand that if you have cooked eggs etc and eat a large breakfast then it’s possibly value for money, however to be charged 55 euros for a cup of tea, orange juice, water, two small pieces of toast and some unripe fruit, we found that very expensive. The hotel would be better to charge according to what the guest chooses.

Breakfast was lovely. Great selection. Staff were outstanding. Downstairs area including the bar had great decor, and was a lovely place to sit of an evening.

Only issue was we booked an "interior room with courtyard view". When we were taken to our room we had a small window which looked out onto another wall about 2m away, and a metal shaft. The room was very dark. A courtyard view implied a view of a courtyard, with perhaps some plants to see. This should be clarified for future bookings. However the staff were great and quickly located us to another room. In both rooms the furniture was very dark, and quite old fashioned. We didn't mind that as it was in keeping with the period features of the hotel, however, if you want light and airy maybe this hotel isn't for you.
