We had the pleasure of staying at the Mahaweli Reach Hotel in Kandy, and we must say it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality that set the tone for our entire stay. Helping us with early check-in with no fuss about it. The hospitality is truly exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with any request we had. The service is top-notch. The staff's professionalism & dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay were evident in every interaction. They were quick to respond to any inquiries or needs, making us feel pampered throughout our stay. (A few names I could recollect...Sharath, Nadeesha, Tushith, Anjali, Chef Antony... not just them but everyone was outstanding. The hospitality runs in the DNA of their hotel staff, we believe.) The staff members are a true asset to this establishment. Their genuine care for guests is palpable and greatly enhances the overall experience. The culinary offerings at this hotel are nothing short of outstanding. The restaurant served a wide variety of delicious dishes, both local Sri Lankan cuisine and international options, all of which were prepared with utmost care and attention to detail. Best Food! The Spa at the hotel offers rejuvenating treatments in a serene setting with knowledgeable and courteous staff. I have never experienced such a strong Wi-Fi service that was fast and reliable in a hotel. Amazing connectivity from any corner of the property. The property is a serene oasis along the Mahaweli River, with lush gardens and a stunning river view. I was about to book another hotel in Kandy, but we chose Mahaweli Reach Hotel instead, Looking back, I can confidently say that this decision was absolutely perfect. This is one of the beautiful place l have visited in my life, because this place is completely bonded with nature. When you enter the property you feel what your breath says about atmosphere through the wind which blows, the mist which hugs you and if you understand what all that is trying to say..... it says, feel me and love me. l really thought what else my eyes would want to see, what else my inner mind wants to feel... I doubt there is anything more l would want to have except this. Thank you so much for everything we really had a beautiful time/stay at your hotel as it was our 15th wedding anniversary, we will have those memories forever with us. The staff is so kind and friendly and the food was delicious, I would recommend you to taste their bread with fish curry it was so tasty and the best I’ve ever had, I absolutely loved it

Very nice staff, it I felt like they were bit stretched in certain times though. Good location, nice garden and pool.

I ordered parata from the menu, as I didn’t want to go for full dinner buffet. They told me, it takes time, and when I asked they said it will take 30 mins. However I had to wait more than a hour to food to arrive. Then I finished my parata dinner, (and it was not good) and wait another 10 mins to get my hot drinks I ordered. I felt like restaurant gave priority to people using buffet and we were last to serve. But once again, staff was friendly. If they can improve food taste and speed things up, it would be real perfect.

The Mahaweli Reach was an absolute delight. Our room had a scenic view where I was able to witness a beautiful sunset. The rooms were fantastic- clean and well maintained. What truly set the hotel apart was the warm welcoming and incredibly friendly staff. The breakfast variety was impressive, offering a delicious ray of options to suit every taste bud. I was also able to witness few of very native birds from my breakfast table. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Marvelous place for a relaxing getaway It was my first stay at Mahaweli Reach hotel, I really liked to colonial vibes of the architecture and the calm river at the foot of the hotel. They served a great spread for the breakfast and the restaurant staff was particularly nice and attentive. The swimming pool at the very middle of the hotel was very inviting and it gave an iconic ambience in the evening. As far as facilities go, Wi-Fi was really good and had good coverage everywhere I went. It is a great place to relax away from the busy streets of Kandy even though it is like 10 minutes away from the city. I would definitely revisit once I’m in Kandy again.

The location, the ambiance, the food and the service were all at a very high standard. Staff was attentive but not overtly in your face as they are at some large hotels. Check in was smooth and I was in my room within 20 minutes of arrival. The room was comfortable with all facilities in good order, although the overall design could perhaps do with an update. Buffet meals had a broad selection and quality of food was consistently very good across the various dishes. Did not have time to use the swimming pool, but it certainly looked quite inviting. The Wifi coverage stood out due to having solid signal strength and good speeds in most locations of the property.

Design and furnishings of the rooms are not the most modern, but in terms of condition and maintenance they are in good shape. An update of the design would probably be something worth considering in the near future.

The location is really nice as the hotel is by the lake. And the staff is very polite and hardworking. You can definitely chose this hotel for family stay or as a couple. But for bachelors or friends this is not a party place so you can choose something different.

There wasn’t anything not to like. Just the hotel is really old. The infrastructure of the hotel is not renovated so if it would have been new construction then the feel of the hotel would be more pleasant.

All staff at Mahaweli Reach are very helpful and caring. We requested 100% Jain food. Chef Gamini and his team really made sure that we had pure Jain food during our stay. He really took care of our requirements and constantly made sure that we were OK. Anjali, Ananda and Maduskani looked after us and my parents very well. Rooms are very nice and clean, atmosphere in the hotel is just amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
