Being in the old city but still in a more silent and secluded area, and in a old refurbished building, certainly added to the experience of visiting Stockholm. Very efficient and acomodating staff. One of the best breakfasts had in a long time.

Our booking was made 6 months in advance including a specific request for a quiet room, which was confirmed by the property. It was disapointing to get a room with windows facing a very noisy 24/7 internal(?), nextdoor(?) kitchen exhaust system! Being fully booked on our arrival day, we were swiftly moved the next day to an upgraded and silent room. Beware that due to the age of the dwelling there is no air conditioning in the rooms - may be a problem during current heat waves that the provided ventilator may not cope with...

The breakfast was OUTSTANDING. An extraordinary array of excellent food, fresh fruit, smoothies, hot and cold dishes, and all well prepared and beautifully presented. One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever had! The front desk attendant / concierge (Elena) was INCREDIBLE. I had a horrible toothache and she was able to locate a nearby dentist who saw me THAT DAY and addressed the problem. Remarkable!!! I could not have been more satisfied. She got us cabs, and her restaurant recommendations were 10 out of 10 perfect. If there is a better concierge, I have yet to see it! She also stored our luggage when we arrived early, and stored it safely for us on the day we checked out. Elena was truly wonderful and we were so grateful for all her help!

The elevator is old and small, but the building is an older structure.

The breakfast, the breakfast, the breakfast. It was nothing short of amazing. They even had a chef there. The bathrooms were nice, the linens very nice, and the location could not be beat. At the price point it was an incredible deal.

I feel bad saying this....but the beds could be better. We stayed the first night in a cheaper room (not a downgrade, had to book the first night separately due to change in plans). Ironically, the cheaper room had the firmer newer bed. I know Americans are all about the firm bed, but in the upgraded room the beds were a bit lumpy and not what I might call level. Non-Americans might be totally fine though.

Very old fashioned…in a pleasant way. Staff excellent and very helpful. Gave us good recommendations for eating locally. Good location in old city, and easy to walk to cathedral and Royal Palace. Our room was at back of hotel and very quiet. Nice breakfast with good choice, but breakfast room is small and rather dark.

Very old hotel, which we liked…but fixtures and fittings very shabby and could do with some refurbishment. Lift very small, which may be a problem if person disabled. Stairs quite steep and winding. Breakfast room rather small and dark..So e guests talked very loudly at breakfast and was very noisy!

Location was great. On the edge of the old town and close to train and ferry. Breakfast was nice and they also had a terrace which was a bonus - evening drink. Room was a good size. We arrived early in the morning - delayed flight. Staff were very helpful. I also liked that they sold travel mini’s. Quite helpful when you forget things or loose them while you are travelling.

Breakfast was crowded on the first morning. The second morning we had breakfast earlier and was much nicer - less crowded.

I stayed here with my daughter for 4 days before Christmas. The hotel is well located for the main shopping area of Gamla Stan, with plenty of places to eat and drink within 2 minutes walk, yet the area was quiet and safe. Staff were kind and helpful, especially at breakfast, which is great quality, variety and quantity. Our room was clean and nicely decorated, although the bathroom was on the small side, and the beds were comfortable. Excellent value for money.

If I could change one thing it would be to have a small bar at the hotel, but due to the proximity of places to get a drink, this isn't a huge problem!

Excellent location in the old town and very close to the subway station. Good breakfast with lots of variety to choose from and a very friendly staff. The rooms were well appointed.

Only think is the Uber and Freenow cannot come into the old town so if you have an early flight, you need to take a conventional taxi which is more expensive. The staff were nice enough to order a taxi for me and let me know how much it was going to be in advance.

The room was lovely and very clean. We requested at the start that there should be cleaning every day and it was done. The breakfast was very nice and good value with nice kitchen staff. The lift is very small but this is probably because it was retrofitted to a very old building. Everyone was helpful and always dealt with our queries promptly. I really liked this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

Our room, 401, was directly opposite the terrace which meant that people could see straight into our windows, and when they were open in the summer heat, people talking late at night woke us up. Also, the attractiveness of the room was marred by a large promotional poster where there should have been an appropriate picture. I had paid for the room already - I didn't need to have it polluted by cheap advertising where I was trying to relax!

the hotel is perfectly located in the old town, close to the metro and tons of eateries. the staff is very nice and helpful. it’s old, but the bathrooms have been nicely remodeled. the breakfast was nice each day although you have to pick a time slot the day before. it does have a small elevator but you have to get luggage up 3 steps to the door then up 3 more steps to the elevator.

The inside door lock assembly was very loose in our room. it’s also a little challenging standing on the top step going into the hotel while opening the door which swings outward to the street.

Centrally located in the area we wanted to stay in (Old Town). Fairly large room with a spacious sitting area and plenty of room for 2 people. Beautiful roof terrace for all guests to use with tables and nice roof-top views of Stockholm.

On day one at breakfast, we watched kitchen staff adjusting food on the plates with their bare hands (and I mean cereal, then pancakes, then cold cuts, then other food...). It was very off-putting. We mentioned it to the front desk with not much of a reaction to what we said. Next morning the woman was wearing gloves though. Big construction going on close by (building a new bridge or fixing the old one, not sure), so it does get a bit noisy on weekdays. However, it's not something the hotel can control. Only mentioning it in case you are travelling with kids or someone who needs a quieter place to stay.
