for the value you paid it’s actually more than to what they offer facilities that are needed were provided pantry where you can cook, charging station FOR FREE!! Imagine?

probably the breakfast? don’t get me wrong it’s quite decent bread variety of spreads, yogurt, oats coffee just wondering there’s not that much protein such as sausage okay it’s not a hotel! how about just egg? but overall highly recommended!

breakfast was average, needed to be improved as there was only a few cereals, bread, yogurt, selections of coffee and tea. i know that some fruits in Switzerland are quite cheap compare to my home country, it would be nice if they provide fruits for breakfast. my room was too small and very packed however, there's a toilet inside the room. bathroom was quite dirty, and the drainage wasnt really good. The staffs were very helpful. what I love about my stay was my balcony facing the alps the view was insanely gorgeous!!! I would like to stay in the same room if I had the opportunity to visit interlaken again. Their kitchen was fully equipped and they provided dryer for free so you only pay for washing machine which is only $4.

Everything was great- staff behaviour, cleanliness, room size, wash basin outside of bathroom, lockers in each room etc. Big Kichens with Fridge are a plus as well. The Location was best - ost and west both stations/boat to brienz, harder kulm start station, lidl/coop everything within walking distance. Fresh breads for breakfast.

We got the room at the ground floor (thankful for this) but the kichen in at the basement. No problem for young people but for my parents with knee problems it was little problematic as elevator usage was restricted for staffs etc. May be we could have got an exception if asked but we didn't want to bother/be an exception... Breakfast did not have any protein items - egg etc. and no fruits as well.

Very clean double room with private shower, friendly and helpful staff. Very good fully equipped kitchen. Only 10min walk from train station and couple min to city centre. Bus 60/102 right in front of hostel and you will be provided with free transport card for duration of your stay by the hostel prior to your arrival.

Breakfast was only bread and yoghurt with some muesli and coffee and tea, wasn’t filling enough. Room and shower ventilation not great and if open window, insects come in. Shower area small and shower curtain kept on sticking to body while having shower resulting wet bathroom floor (despite following instruction of putting the curtain inside the shower)

The location was perfect, right at your footstep you have the bus stop (which was free!) which could take you directly to the train station. You certainly didn’t need to walk far to find a supermarket, shops etc. The kitchen was a saviour given eating out in Switzerland is very expensive- included multiple ovens, cutlery etc. My room had an incredible view of the alps! Use of the dryer was free however the washing machine was expensive- not a bad idea if you are willing to hand wash some items.

Privacy curtains on the beds could be a nice touch however I was very lucky with the dorm mates I made.

The reception was really informative and helpful. The room is cozy, bed was comfy, and has a great view. Toilet and showers are great. Good kitchen supply and plenty eating space. Great social place ( reading and activity space is separate) and a lot of hanging out place. And if you stay 3 nights or more in Interlaken, you got free bus / BOB train transport ticket!

They have an elevator that can only be used for luggage transport / staff use. After a long day of walking and travelling, what’s worse is when you were in the kitchen in underground and forgot to take something in your room in the 3rd floor and had to climb up the stairs. My conscience was impaired. The bus that stop in front of the hostel is great, but they aren’t always available.

The place was excellent. Very clean and has all the facilities you need for a stay. The breakfast was excellent and the check-in and checkout process was very simple. The location is beautiful and easily accessible by most transportation options. Their receptionist Melanie deserves a special mention. I left my bag containing valuables on the train from Interlaken Ost to Lucerne. She went to the Interlaken station on my behalf to look for the bag at the station’s lost and found room. I’m extremely grateful for fact that Melanie took time out of her day, went and checked for me and promptly gave me a call about the outcome! Thank you so much Melanie!

We traveled to Interlaken with a family of 10 members. The rooms were clean and the bunkbeds pretty comfortable. We took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen the two nights we were there as we wanted to save as much as possible being that Switzerland is quite expensive plus we have very picky children. Location is excellent. Friendly staff. Breakfast was a nice addition. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Switzerland.

Breakfast was good but wish it had more variety.

Smokers are restricted to smoking in small area outside the front door. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building, the back garden, or on the back terrace. Helpful staff on reception. There are a number of common room areas in various parts of the building. Tabletennis table and snooker table in back garden. Laundry and luggage storage facilities. Continental breakfast includes 2 types of cereal, yoghurt, orange juice, tea, coffee, bread and spreads. Hostel conveniently located midway between Interlaken West and Interlaken East railway stations opposite the large grassed area in the centre of town where the paraglider land (Hohematte). Large Coop supermarket opposite Interlake East railway station. Interlaken is a small town so easy to walk everywhere. Loved the statue of a bear wearing ice skates round the corner in Alpenstrasse. Plenty to do in and around Interlaken.

The only design flaw in this otherwise excellent hostel is that the bottom bunks are not high enough above the floor for you to be able to store a suitcase or backpack underneath.

This has been our fave location of a three week Europe trip! Switzerland is expensive, so it might seem a lot to spend $250/nt (private family room) on a hostel, but that’s much cheaper than anywhere else we could find. We felt more like we were in a cool camp or all-ages dorm than a hostel. We did laundry, picnicked, hung out, had great breakfasts, sat on back patio, sat inside during the rain. It was so comfortable, so clean, and so safe (and I am picky)! I recommend you go to the Coop (grocery store) and get food to cook in their amazing kitchen to save money from eating at restaurants each meal.

No air conditioning- easily remedied in opening window when not raining.
