Anstatthotel is a business hotel, so you can't expect the same level of comfort and aestethics as in a 3*/4* hotel. Nevertheless, we found Anstatthotel to be convenient and value for money. Located in Seefeld, about 5 kms away from Luzern Bahnhof, the hotel can be reached by Bus No 20 in just 15 mins (in the direction of Enethrow or Technikumstrasse). The bus stop is located in front of the hotel thus making it a convenient base for tourists carrying heavy luggage. Located in a quiet suburb, Mt. Pilatus looms up just ahead. Entry into the building, access to elevator buttons and entry to your room is enabled using a digital key on the 'Justin' app in which you need to register your mobile number. The digital key is forwarded by the hotel a day in advance or on the same day of arrival. Without the key, you are locked out! The key gets enabled at check-in time and is valid till check-out time at 10 AM on the last day. Ensure to return before 10 AM on the last day to collect your luggage if you happen to go out early in the morning. The hotel is unmanned but you can request for stuff through e-mail or the helpline. The room had all basic kitchenware - pans, glasses, dishes, cutlery etc. along with a tea kettle and coffee pod machine. A microwave was an added bonus. A nice cozy balcony attached, you may ask for a mountain view at the time of booking. We requested for a frying pan, ashtray and a hair dryer which were promptly delivered the next morning. Housekeeping comes in only after check-out and once in 7 days if you stay longer. The basement has four washing machines + tumblers. A 30 min cycle costs Fr. 0.50 each. Three steam iron tables are available too. Bins to trash out kitchen waste are located in the basement.

A lot of reviews have already mentioned about the low height of the overhead shelf above the beds. I suppose since there is no space for bedside tables, hence this was the only option. The cupboard is just functional. The hotel does not provide shower gel, only hand wash. Either you could use the same as a shower gel or get your own. Beds are not heavy and stable, they keep moving! To summarize, room furniture is of very basic quality and finish.

Kitchen has many, new and clean dishes, a modern stove and pans to cook.

I think they forgot to put a salt in our room, so we had to cook with some sachets we got in restaurants in the city. I also found a bit complicated to do the check in. In my case I got unlucky that they mixed up my reservation with another one. So I was receiving 2 different instructions and it was confusing. It was also needed to turn on the mobile data (with roaming) from my phone to get the access key to the building and room. I wonder how I would do it in case i didn't have the opportunity to turn the mobile data on.

there is no hair dryer in the apartment and you have to pay for parking the car in the garage of the building. I think they should offer a complimentary parking for guests.

Nice place with a small kitchen that had all essential utensils for cooking. Good for a couple or small family. Fully digital experience which is a nice touch.

No basic toiletries as in no body wash!! The bathroom is a half door and not completely closed, that doesn’t make it any convenient. Hotel didn’t provide visitor card which is provided by all hotels in Lucerne by which unlimited local transport can be availed by tourists. We got to know about it last day of our stay. NO such information provided by Anstatthotel, which is a disappointment. We spent more than CHF 150 on local transport alone which could have been saved.

Perfectly adequate for a week's stay for two. Not flashy. Large room. Good shower room. Microwave, hob, (no oven), all necessary cookware. Convenient for public transport. Excellent laundry facilities. Quiet at night. Comfortable bed. Nice view of lake and mountains from balcony at front on fourth floor.

No human reception on site. We visited during a September heat wave. Lack of air-con was disappointing. A fan would have been an asset. Some mosquitos from nearby nature reserve were a nuisance, forcing us to keep window shut at night in spite of the heat. The free local transport pass, available from most hotels, was not valid from this property. Enquire about local day / week passes unless you have a Swiss Pass.

Overall it is a very good property. And it is literally contactless , except, occassionally you come across some cleaning staff..All the basic facilities like kitchenette are good.

The room is almost like a prison. You can not open the window and completely devoid of outside connection as long as you are inside the room. Europe is getting hotter and there is no fan inside the room. Only heating is provided and staff kept it probably at a higher temperature and it was really difficult to sleep in the room. When, outside temperature is 19 degrees cent, inside felt like 32 degrees.

- The room was big and everything we needed was available. The receptionless check-in and check-out system worked well for me. - The staff was helpful when contacted through WhatsApp.

- For parking you need cash or use the EasyPark app, paying with twint was also possible, but that isn't really possible for people not from Switzerland. - Washing machines also needed cash. - Receptionless check-in could be problematic for people who are less tech inclined, however you can get a key card if this is the case by contacting the staff. - The glass door in the bathroom really was not great, especially with the sensor triggered light that you could not turn off.

The location of this hotel is amazing, there is a mountain view from the balcony. The bus stop is right across the road and the train station is at 10min walk. The room has all the basic things that a tourist would look for. The room was clean when checked in, there was a welcome card with chocolate on the table which is a great gesture. The room size is good enough for a family of 3 and the online check-in is easy and smooth.

There is nothing that we didn't like. However, if they could possibly include the breakfast in the price we were offered. Also the bathing soap and shampoo were missing. We had to buy from the nearest supermarket.

The only thing to like was the price, the thing that we had a kitchen and a big terrace and that we were close to Lucerne, to Kriens and Alpnachstadt (for the Pilatus).

We didn't get neither a view of the lake , neither one of the Pilatus and I think those rooms are situated on the last floor (4-th) on the corner, meaning that there are only 2 of them, of rooms with both views. We had coloured , non-ironable sheats on the bad , even if our neighbours had white ones and flat-ironed ones. My pillow smelled uggly. We were lucky to have booked a 5-place room so that I could change my pillow immediately, oherwise I don't know how I would have done this, because everything is online.
