I don't usually leave any reviews, but this time is exceptional and I have that urge to express how much we appreciated our stay at Hotel Sterne. First of all, we were really impressed by how kind, hospitable,generous and helpful Anna and her husband ,Vald (Sorry if I'm misspelling the name) are! They are unbelievably so kind and want to help you in any way. Before we arrived, they checked with us and provided us with information regarding how safely to get there and then helped us with parking and carried our luggage upstairs. They explained in detail the popular attractions in the area and even helped to plan our days properly. They generously advised us with regard to places, prices, tickets, etc, and provided us with brochures. They also offer a free bus ticket from their hotel to Interlaken center and a ticket discount on some places in Beternberg and Interlaken. They are available all the time, physically and even by WhatsApp. It's not like any hotel where people are there because they do their jobs, Anna and Vald were doing that with love and you can feel it. As Anna said, it's in their Serbian's culture, to make residents feel as if they are at their home and we were really comfortable there. Apart from Anna and Vald, the apartment is clean, well-furnished and you will find what you need. Beds are clean and comfortable. They have a kitchenette with clean utensils and appliances. The view of the hotel is stunning (over the mountain and the lake) and you would enjoy coming back and forth from/to the hotel, though you need to be careful as it's over the mountain. Even if your apartment doesn't have a balcony, they have a communal one! Parking is free, and the distance to interlaken centre is around 17 minutes. I would definitely recommend staying at Hotel Sterne. We are grateful that we have got the chance to stay there even if it were for a couple of days. Thanks Anna and Vald for everything!

Comfy beds, nice kitchen to cook our foods, beautiful scenic views on top of a hill and water in the faucet is drinkable.👍 Anna is helpful in showing us through the map the directions of tourist spots. Vlad is accommodating in asking us to stay at the reception while waiting for the bus as it wss raining and freezing cold outside. His cousin (didn't know the name) assisted us with our big luggages to bring it up all the way to the room and even took it to the bus stop. They were really nice. Though it's somehow far from the main places which we would like to visit, but if you are looking for a quiet place then I recommend this place.

The location of the hotel is great. The hotel owner welcomed us at the hotel entrance and they were very interested. It was a friendly and warm welcome. They gave detailed answers to all the questions we asked through the application in a short time. When choosing a room, I mistakenly chose the two-storey apartment. It was an unsuitable apartment because we had a baby. But the hotel owner thought about this situation and gave us a different single-storey room. We really liked this kind gesture. We thank all employees again. If I go to Switzerland again, I will definitely choose this hotel.

The hotel apartment was amazing, we had everything we needed and the view was exceptional! The rooms were heated the beds were very comfortable and we had extra blanket, the staff were very helpful and very sweet, they gave us all the information we needed about interlaken and what to do there!

It was just a little bit far from the center but the transportation were very easy we only needed one bus to get to the center and it took around 2mins to get there, but the view of the property made it seems nice

The most exceptional service that we have had at any accomodation before. Vlad went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best stay and experienced the best of interlaken and surroundings. He designed a well suited itinerary for us that worked around the horrible weather at the time. He also lended us equipment to make cheese fondue and raclette to ensure we saved money from expensive restaurants (much more exciting to make it yourself). Besides all this, the property was in a great location with a close bus stop to get into the main town, and the view was exceptional. We would definitely stay here again 😊

The personal approach of Vlad, receiving his guests and make them feel at home is really a special experience. We even had luck that he had a great help from Josip, who even made the "feeling home" experience double special (the coffee he made us before going home was the best we ever tasted!). On a great location up mountain with a wonderful view over the lake we could not have a better stay for 3 nights before turning home than our stay in Hotel Sterne.

Actually nothing to complain about except maybe the flies, but you have those everywhere in Switserland up in the mountains close to cows.

Everything was perfect! The host Vlad was so welcoming and he did everything he could do for us. He recommended us place to go and even dropped us off in some place that was hard to reach by transportation. He was always so welcoming and friendly. And the facilities and locations were all very magnificent!! They had an amazing view to overlook all the mountains and the lake and the transportation to the place was also very easy, because you can reach there easily by bus. This was my favorite place during the whole trip and I was very sad to leave. I will definitely stay again when I visit! I'm not sure if you will remember me Vlad, but I'm that Korean girl who travelled with grandparents and went to the waterfall!! I will try to make it again it the winter! It was like staying with family! A very kind and warm welcome from my hosts Ana & Vlad! They took great care of every detail and made sure that my visit was going to be wonderful! Vlad pointed out some of his favorite hikes and he will even provide you with hiking gear if you need it or if you forgot something from home. Went on a spectacular hike far down below from Beatenberg, to Beatus Hohlen waterfalls! I recommend seeing these waterfalls, they are awesome! Then over to Sundlaunen, then the picturesque hike back to the Beatenberg Kirche. Along the way of the hike, you see beautiful panoramas of the lake below. My room had a great balcony with views of the 3 famous peaks and Mt. Niesen. Unfortunately, it was very cloudy for my entire stay, so I didn't get to see my favorite peaks. The quaint church and it's ringing bells is just in front of the balcony. I stayed in the top floor attic room (very cosy) and the floor below (down the spiral staircase) has the kitchen, dining area, and bathroom. The whole suite is two levels! They will keep your luggage safe for you if you go on a hike on your departure day. When I came back from my long hike, Ana surprised me with lunch from her home kitchen. The kindness of Ana & Vlad will make you want to come back again and again! Thank you! 😁

Best view from a hotel room I have ever experienced. Beatenberg is a beautiful village, you are around 4000ft high, it's quiet and peaceful and about 25m by bus to Interlaken. Vlad is welcoming and knowledgeable and helpful when needed. Apartment was spacious, clean, and beds comfortable Free bus transport in Interlaken, ask for pass from Vlad. Bus frequency is something to be aware of, one bus every hour, apart from between 1130-1530 where it is once every 30 minutes.
