Super location Super friendly staff Long distance to breakfast and beach, but they have golf carts which they can drive you from one side of the hotel to the other

Bit over priced considering the very old infrastructure. Old rooms, no hot shower, only warmish... the bathtub could only be filled by extremely hot or cold water... We arrived via west beach, had to carry our luggage to east beach where the lobby is... better to arrive via east beach, there they directly take all your bags from the boat to your room - wish i would have known... Lot of mosquitos in the room

On the beach. Lovely big room and balcony. Good breakfast. The wildlife - hornbills, monkeys and Black squirrels. Everything really!

Too many people saving sunbeds then not returning for hours or leaving the towel there when finished - very selfish. Not the hotels fault although some signage advising against this might have helped.

Right on the beach! The staff were great and very helpful. The breakfast was varied and great. I used the gym, which was sufficient. I really enjoyed the accom, but to be honest I wouldn't stay on Railay again. Monkeys are very cheeky, especially in the morning, so watch out!

Wasn't clear that the hotel spreads across from the West side to the East side of Railay Beach, so it's hit or miss which side you stay on. Also a bit strange when we got off the long tail boat and walked to the hotel- we had to leave our bags at the back reception while checking in at the front reception, would have been nice if we were told where we were going instead of just being told to hop in a golf cart. Don't assume things like laundry, kayaking etc are going to be open everyday. These were closed for periods of 2-7 days when we were there.

The hotel is amazing, very, very beautiful. The swimming pools are incredible, especially pool number 2, which stays in the center of the hotel. This area is quiet, and you can admire nature and its sounds. Even though it was not possible to do a late checkout due to full occupancy, staff was very nice in finding solutions like landing towels all day and letting me use the facilities until my departure.

The room I stayed in was facing the east bay, and the noise of the boats arriving was very annoying. Furthermore, the wall between the rooms was so thin that I could hear the TV from the room beside mine.

The room was very clean, the bed was firm but comfortable and (most importantly) the aircon worked superbly! All rooms are close to pools, the beach and you're only about a 5-10 minute walk from the main shopping/dining/drinking area (if you don't want to eat at the resort). There's no alcohol at the resort but all the bars are just a few minutes away so it wasn't a big deal for me. Staff were always friendly, courteous & happy to help. I really appreciated being able to use the shower after I'd been rock climbing all morning & had checked out on my last day (it's about a 15-minute walk to Tonsai for climbing).

Everything worked fine but there were a few very minor maintenance items that could've been done e.g. the wardrobe door was broken, and some of the grout in the shower needed fixing. Very minor & had no impact on enjoying my stay but they probably should be fixed.

Relaxing, lovely location, good food.

They don’t sell alcohol. We had an issue with my iPad going missing. The maid insisted it wasn’t in the room when she cleaned it but I later tracked it to her cleaners cart using the tracker on my phone. Of course, she had no idea how it got there!!! After this we didn’t allow our room to be cleaned. It’s sad that someone on the staff is stealing and giving an otherwise lovely hotel a bad name.

Staff were very pleasant. A particular help was that they very happily posted our lost earbud back to us on the other side of Thailand in time for our departure, at no cost. Room was lovely. We were surprised around 7am the first morning but thumping on the roof overhead, but delighted to discover that it was a family of monkeys making their way around the resort! We're a family of four, so were looking for somewhere we could fit into one room to keep it affordable, and Sand Sea was happy to have us, and to allow us to use our own inflatable mattress for our youngest to save the cost of an extra bed. The resort straddles the peninsula, from the less attractive beach on the east (where there's a better pier for coming and going with luggage), to the beautiful - if busy - beach on the west, with amazing sunsets. So you can walk from one side of the peninsula to the other without leaving the resort (about 5 mins). When you arrive with luggage, they have golf buggies to help you get to your room. There are three pools, though the 'main' one, overlooking the nicer beach (on the west), was definitely the favourite. Pool two was much quieter and half way between the two beaches, but might have been nicer for couples than families. Pool three is really small, and right near the main reception and the eastern beach - we didn't try this one. Might be nice for a quick dip without many others around, if your room is near it. The breakfast buffet was lovely. We tended to eat rather well at breakfast, have a simple light lunch, and then have our evening meal at one of the nice restaurants along the main pedestrian street that runs across the peninsula. All pleasant, quite affordable, and varied. We had pizza a couple of times, some lovely Indian curry, and some local fish too.

Tiny suggestion: light the flame under the pre-cooked eggs at breakfast time. :-) But we found the fried eggs at another Thai hotel were also cold, so we started to wonder if the locals prefer them that way. Having said this, there's a chef on hand to fry your eggs any way you like them - you just might have to queue for 5-10 mins while he prepares food for other guests.

Location. Very nice location, lots of big trees, nice bungalows and villas, nice staff. Big trees with monkeys, monitor lizards, birds, nice garden landscaping Please be aware that if you leave your room doors open, monkeys will take advantage. Nothing taken so we had a good lough about it, especially because we think it was a teamwork to make us leave the porch and film them in the trees while one of them got in our room :) Nice experience.

The noise from the boats (not resort fault but maybe they can join forces with the other resorts and try to limit this noise at list at night) Tropical Villa plus that we booked had a really bad smell in the bathroom because of sewage They should do better in cleaning the rooms

The beautiful garden, 3 pools, the variety of animals and clean beach in front of the resort! Our room was cleaned and very fresh every day, comfortable bed. Breakfast was good too.

Our room was very nice and bright and comfortable. Only the shower was rusty and water lacked pressure. Most of the staff were friendly but at the restaurant it felt like they were a bit disorganized and not too attentive. The food was more inviting on the next door restaurant at Railay resort. Also it would have been so nice if the spa was open. Overall we enjoyed and were happy but could have spent more time in the resort if those things were more attractive.
