Oh gosh, what was there *not* to like? Staying at Lavana Hotel in Chiang Mai felt like staying at that super-cool cousin's house for the weekend - always fun and a good time! The staff are super friendly and approachable. My mom and I booked 5 nights originally but we extended it to almost double the amount of time because we loved Lavana (and Chiang Mai) so much. We stayed here during Songkran and it was amazing! My mom and I even joined the staff and fellow hotel guests in the festivities, splashing people with hoses and water guns. Everyone here is so laid back and friendly. If you're coming to Chiang Mai and want great value, a comfortable and clean place to stay, good vibes, and easy access to Chiang Mai's coolest attractions, do yourself a favor and book a room at Lavana Hotel.

I loved everything!

The hotel is fantastic: it’s perfectly located in the center of the old city, surrounded by temples, shops and restaurants, the Sunday evening street market, and everything that Chiang Mai—a supremely walkable city—has to offer. The staff is attentive and sweet, with always a wai and a greeting; when they said they’d miss us as we left, it sounded as though they meant it! The room was spacious, immaculate, and quiet, nicely and simply decorated with wonderful views over the neighboring rooftops; the bed was huge and comfortable, with crisp clean sheets every day. The pool is tiny but plenty big enough for a refreshing dip at the end of a hot day; it’s just off the lobby but nicely screened. Can’t comment on the breakfast, because the local coffee shops were too alluring. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Gosh… it’s hard to come up with anything they could do better. Maybe a rooftop bar to take even more advantage of their amazing location?

Great little hotel centrally located in Old City of Chiang Mai. The rooms were clean and traditionally decorated. The bed was HUGE and super comfortable! The staff as the hotel were super friendly and helpful whenever we needed to book taxis. They always greeted us with a smile whenever we walked past. We even got a small elephant keychain gift when we checked out. We did not have breakfast at this hotel, it was an extra fee, but the restaurant out front served cheap drinks and the food when ordered was delicious and a great price. It is close to a few good restaurants so everything was within walking distance. Everything around the area does close earlier if you wish to stay out for a drink, so you have to go for a walk to find the bars, but you can easily get a grab if you don’t wish to walk. Overall, would definitely stay here again for a short trip in Chiang Mai.

The pool was very small, but we did not use it so no bother to us. A small pool was expected due to where the hotel was located in the Old City.

There was a small error made with our reservation, and the wonderful manager and the entire staff (including the owner) went above above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and memorable! It wasn’t just us though, Apple, the manager and her staff, show individualized attention to EVERYONE! We can’t wait until our next visit with our new friends! Thank you for everything!

The only negative was the breakfast at the attached restaurant that was included. Patrons must choose from preset meals, but we only wanted maybe one item offered in any of the meals. The restaurant staff is trying, but they have to follow protocol, so ultimately we ended up just wasting food each morning.😥 Never something one wants to do.

Everything! The hotel location was fantastic for seeing the sights within the old city walls. It was also ideal for the Sunday evening walking markets as you only had to walk out of the front entrance and you were there! We couldn't fault our room in anyway. The size, decor, bathroom and amenities. It was absolutely lovely, as was the breakfast which was cooked to order every morning. Staff were also very helpful and attentive, especially Chanicharn in the restaurant. She made us feel very welcome and well looked after. We had an absolute wonderful time in Chaing Mai and would not hesitate to recommend the Lavana Hotel. The lovely toiletry gift on check out was a welcome surprise too. Thanks for looking after us during our stay. We will definitely be coming back. ❤️👌

We had absolutely no complaints at all.

The hotel is perfectly located; you can easily explore everything on foot. If you book your stay for a Sunday night, you'll enjoy the lively market right in front. The rooms are clean, spacious, and modern. Gentleman named OK front staff was exceptional, assisting us with tour bookings, laundry, and providing helpful guidance for exploring Chiang Rai. I’d give them a 10/10 for their excellent service.

The hotel itself is a 10/10, with a perfect location, clean and spacious rooms, and excellent front desk service. However, the afternoon lady staff was a bit rude and seemed unsure of how to handle guests, which was disappointing. Because of this, I rated the overall experience as 9/10. The buffet breakfast was just okay and could be improved. Despite these minor issues, I would still recommend the hotel for its overall quality

Staff were lovely, made us feel at home from the first moment. Got us extra hangers, water, everything we needed quickly and easy. Great location, perfect for Sunday night market and exploring town. Bed was really comfy.

Only thing that lets this hotel down was the breakfast, would give 10/10 if they sorted breakfast. Breakfast was covered in flies, poor choice, low quality and served cold (think the staff couldn’t keep up and left it on the side too long before bringing out), plus a day that the kitchen broke. Not clear if the restaurant is part of the hotel or outsourced, but it was a very different experience to main hotel.

We booked for 3 nights. Came to Chiang Mai after Bangkok. The staff were really great. Very friendly and very adequate English. Lift wasn’t working when we arrived but it didn’t affect us and the staff helped bring our bags to room. Also our shower was cold first night but we mentioned to reception and was fixed asap. Could have been the time of morning we were having shower. Would definitely recommend for anything visiting chiang mai. Very reasonably priced and also gave us a lovely gift on departure which was a really nice gesture.

Nothing really. Few small things above but didn’t effect our stay

Perfect location, directly at the Sunday night market but still quite place for sleeping. And they have great interior style as well.

Only thing you can complain is that the hot and cool water in the shower is a bit hard to adjust and the floor in the shower is a bit flat such that not all the water find its way to the drainage immediately. But for me that was no big issue, we even extended our stay.

The hotel was really good , I appreciated a lot the design of room, pool and breakfast. Staff was kind for any request . I put 4 stars for room and service because in the first 2 night blankets weren’t changed , just made it again . Also the bathroom during first day was not done by cleaning service. We warned the staff and after 2nd day clean was cleaned in a good way , blanket changed and toilet service done . I recommend the hotel but I suggest to keep more focused about cleaning . ( laundry Service expensive compared to other laundry around the city ). Congrats to the managers of the hotel and bar , so very professional and kind
