The staff is friendly and helpful, you can ask them anything, really. The location is great and the neighborhood is safe. The breakfast is nice, there was something different every day. The room was clean and spacious. There was air conditioning and the cleaning ladies came every morning and changed the towels, toilet paper and made the bed. All in all the hotel is organized very nicely, my husband and I were really satisfied and we plan on coming here again.

Everything was really great but maybe I would just mention that there was some mold in the corners of the shower that could have been dealt with and that the water got out underneath the shower door every time because there was too much space between the shower door and wall/floor. The balcony could have been cleaner together with the glass fence but that does not change all the great things that they offer, those are just nuances that could be improved.

Fantastic location close to all the main tourist destinations within Sultanahmet: Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern & Topkapi Palace all within 10-15 mins walk, then the Grand Bazaar is only 15-20 mins and Spice Bazaar 20-25 mins. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, especially Gödze who always had a smile on her face. She was great, she arranged our airport taxis, made a local dinner reservation for us for the night of our arrival, ensured our room was decorated with rose petals for our anniversary and checked in with us about how our stay was going whenever we saw her. Thank you Big G! Abbas was also another staff member where nothing was too much trouble. For example, he carried our case up 3 floors without being asked and then walked us to our dinner reservation on night one so we didn’t have to worry about finding it. Denis was really helpful printing our boarding cards. The staff definitely work hard to let guests feel welcomed. The room (Deluxe double - no. 306) was at the back of the property overlooking the small garden room where breakfast is served. It was relatively peaceful, very clean and benefited from air conditioning. The cleaning staff do a great job.

The hotel location is perfect, just a few minutes of walking away from the main tourist attractions. Probably the best area you could stay at in Sultanahmet. The room layout was very nice (we were staying at Deluxe Double Room). Even though the pics for those rooms are clearly taken using a wide angle camera, in reality the room looks much smaller. But whatever space there is is planned very smart, there's enough storage space, the lighting options are very well designed, and the opaque glass walls between the room and the bathroom also make the room very cosy. Ventilation was excellent, moisture from the bathroom was never an issue Breakfast was basically the same every day (with minor variations), but still tasty and filling. It was served in a cute little pavilion in the inner yard, so it was enjoyable in every aspect.

I'd say the noise was the biggest issue. Our room's windows were facing the inner yard, and while it was protecting us from the street noises and loud calls to prayer, the multiple boilers and compressor units were always buzzing like crazy. If you like to sleep with your windows open it might become problematic. The mini fridge in the room was barely cooling at all. The safe box was very tiny, big enough for your passport but not for a laptop. No blackout curtains, so there won't be a chance to fully hide from the sun. The terrace this hotel does have is quite desolate. There's no bar there, no social life in the evening. But maybe that's because of the season.

Super central location, 2 mins walk from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The grand bazaar also within walking distance (around 10 mins). The staff was more than amazing helping us with Turkish SIMs (cheaper than the airport) and booking us transportation whenever needed. The rooms, showers and breakfast also quite decent.

Although super central the area is full of really touristy restaurants where people are just incredibly annoying to convince you eat at them. Nothing wrong with the hotel of course, that is the case throughout Istanbul unfortunately.

I highly recommend this hotel. The position is perfect to visit the main turist attractions in Istanbul. Everything is pretty much walking distance or a quick ride with the tram. The breakfast was varied and delicious. Also the little glass gazebo offers a nice ambiance. The room was nice and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Sometimes, in the evening, you would hear the music of restaurants nerby, but for us it was not such a huge deal. But if you are very sensitive you might be a bit bothered by it. Lastly, the staff was amazing. They were very polite, warm, ready to help you with whatever you needed. You felt good every time you walked in the hotel.

Denis the manager was incredibly kind and helpful, offering recommendations and advise that didn't seem motivated by personal interests. The breakfast options were plentiful and delicious, and the hotel was located close to a range of important sites in Sultenahmet.

The hotel rooms were clean and well-outfitted, but were considerably smaller than they appeared in the photos offered on the website. The restaurants in the immediate proximity are designed for tourists, for better or for worse, and the people outside the restaurants recruit possible patrons *very* aggressively.

We stayed only one night at Alilas Hotel because we had a connecting flight out of Istanbul a day later and we wanted to explore the city. Since our plane arrived pretty late we booked a transfer to and from the hotel and it worked soo well! The staff at the hotel was super friendly and helped us with all our questions. The hotel has a super location and it’s in walking distance to some major landmarks and even close to a tramway station.

Breakfast was held at a pretty terrace. The atmosphere was nice but for breakfast there was only a very limited amount of food available, which was a bit disappointing.

We just stayed one night but the hotel was comfortable, modern and clean. Good location and helpful staff.

The breakfast location was nice but the breakfast itself a bit weak.

I will highly recommend this hotel as the staff of this hotel made this place very special. They helped from the day of the booking, being always answering all the questions immediately. Our flight was delayed till very late night and they were managing the transfer making sure everything was good. Marat was so kind and helpful. Thanks a lot . The location is great !

I don’t have any negative comments. People were complaining that the rooms were small , but it’s really written in the description and the price of the room was very affordable. So I should say it’s a great value for money !

Deniz, one of receptionists, was very helpful in pointing us toward nice, good, and affordable restaurants in the area. He was also very helpful in setting up Covid tests at the hotel so we could get on our cruise ship, and calling taxis, etc. Our luggage didn't come on the connecting flight to Istanbul with us, and Deniz helped us contact luggage folks and arrange for /receive luggage in middle of night. Room, while not the largest in size, was quiet and comfortable. We asked for and received a room with the least walking upstairs required. The location was great for seeing the main sites of Sultanahmet (via walking) and the tram to other places was also (probably 2 or 3 short blocks). We ate at Tria Hotel and the restaurant by the water on Kennedy. We loved exploring the area between that restaurant and the Alilass. This was our second trip to Istanbul, and enjoyed our second stay at Alilass. There are plenty of restaurants around, a little supermarket that's open late and early, and plenty to see in the area. Then you can take the tram (although that MAY require local coins; don't remember) to Eminonu, ferries to Uskudar, etc. The breakfast in the morning in the breakfast area in the back was pleasant, available during good hours, and the small buffet was more than adequate. Ask for filtered coffee with milk if you like yours American style. Print out the instructions Alilass gives you for taxi drivers. There are lots of one way streets in that area that can make getting to the hotel a little tricky. And the car traffic can be quite bad at times.

The room in the room category we chose (largest room possible) was a little smaller than the photo on website led us to believe, but it was still adequate for our needs. And the website may still contain a photo of a rooftop place to sit, which we never saw. However, there are other places nearby where you can sit and eat dinner, have a drink, or whatever -- so it really didn't matter.
