we paid more to have a room with a balcony overlooking the water and it was definitely worth it. delighted that there was a screen on the window so we could enjoy the night air without feeding the mosquitos. the beds and pillows were very comfortable, the wifi connection was adequate, it was useful to have a refrigerator in the room but not near the beds, and the room's sitting area was very pleasant for reading.

for the price, the toilet paper could have been a higher quality, and the included breakfast was very disappointing. Also, the ice maker on the 3rd floor is unbelievably noisy, so light sleepers should avoid rooms near it.

the location was very convenient and the staff were all great.

our queen “deluxe water view” had an angle balcony just big enough for the two chairs and small table provided. the view pictured on the site was great - from that one narrow angle of the postage stamp. because of other conflicting reservations we couldn’t change both of our rooms. a sewage removal company was working on a big green dumpster-style tank at the edge of the building. that may be normal to some extent but we have never seen that at other properties before. the elevator had an unpleasant odor that seemed to be improving on the day we left.

The location was great, definitely could walk to the restaurants/shops around if you are willing. The breakfast was okay but a lot of the shops around were definitely a better option. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was amazing as it was spacious and had a rain spout. My favorite thing about this place was the cute little balcony that had a great view!

The breakfast was nothing to rave about. I did not like that I booked a king suite with a view and then got placed on the first floor. I asked for a quiet room and it was anything but. There were a lot of kids staying at the hotel and you could hear noise in the room and on the balcony. Also, the hot tub is attached to the pool and while me and my partner went to use it to relax around 8pm a giant group of kids came in the use the pool and were splashing us and making all sorts of ruckus. My suggestion would be to put a curfew on the pool for younger kids as the hot tub could not actually be enjoyed.

Prior to arriving, I spoke with Helen who provided me with a wealth of information, places to go, places to eat, things to do. The staff, Deanna, Tasha, Tosha ..... the 3 we mainly saw ..... all super sweet. The room was bright and spacious with a great view of the bay/waterway; bed, very comfortable. Breakfast, delicious, every morning and enough choices that I can't imaging anyone leaving without eating. The pool and the hot tub were a must for us and both were awesome. Very clean.

The candy machine on our floor was not working ..... maybe fix that.

Excellent service, great location, cleanliness, comfortable beds, good breakfast.

The chemicals in the pool/ hot tub weren't correct. The chlorine gas burned our eyes and we didn't even get in the water. Also, not the fault of the hotel, but so many people don't teach their children to be considerate of others. We don't allow our children to run amok (playing with the luggage carts, running and screaming in the hallways, putting their hands in the food at the breakfast buffet, etc) I wish more parents had the courtesy in themselves to teach to their children.

Very comfortable room overlooking the bay, with a balcony, quiet room, great and comfortable bed, pool was Very clean and seemed to be sanitary. Hot tub was excellent. Nice music over the speakers. Buffet in the morning was very fresh, fruit, and bakeries pastries and you can make waffles, fresh. Receptionist was very nice to me even when I was originally upset about being on the 1st floor-upon seeing the room was thrilled with it. Plus they have chargers for Electric Vehicles, which I have and always have to search for a charger.

I liked the location and the views over the bay were great. close to restaurants and the wildlife refuge. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast provided by the hotel was better than most free hotel breakfasts I’ve tried. The waffle iron that they have available to use was the best part!

the indoor pool area could use a little more upkeep throughout the day. The only time we went was towards the end of the day and other guests had left garbage and towels everywhere both times we went.

location, is wonderful.Short drive to Assateague Island. Really, enjoyed our time , both at refugee & beach. Hotel, is extremely clean, nicely decorated & relaxing. Nice weather, permitted us time to enjoy,sitting on deck& Adirondack chairs along boardwalk. Pool & hot tub, clean. Room was spacious and cozy, with sitting area. Definitely would consider returning.6am breakfast, was great, allowing us an early start.

Very minor- - Scrambled eggs, 2 days in a row. Plenty of other choices.

Breakfast was great with a generous window of time to get something to eat. The room was beautiful, clean, and had a fantastic view. The hot tub and pool were lovely. Refreshments were always stocked and delicious.

Unfortunately, the folks in the room next to ours on the third floor were extremely loud all hours of the day and night during our stay. The pool and hot tub were constantly crowded with no lifeguard on duty. We were only able to comfortable use the pool and hot tub once for about an hour.

Great, friendly staff and clean accommodations. Pools were used often by my kids, as were the hammocks. View of the bay front was nice, but I was part of the only block of rooms denied a view of the sunset due to angle and location of our balcony.

Having the sink outside/in addition to the bathroom would be a huge plus — especially for a family. Possibly a future update consideration? Also, like much of the island, the bay front wasn't fenced, meaning we has to be super careful with where we let our toddler loose and also set some ground rules for the older kids. Finally, with the lack of restaurants on the island, something onsite beyond breakfast would be entirely welcome.
